How do you turn on headlights?

Headlights not working is still an issue for me.
Racing the other night round spa at night with friends and none of us had headlights on from our own perspectives but looking at a friends car behind me his headlights were on and seemed normal but to him it was pitch black.
The car model has lights but the drivers view doesn’t, very strange

Yeah this is weird the game does not let you turn them on/off.

Was running laps at daytona near dusk and all other 22 vehicles had lights on but my GTR lights were off.

Then I did some event at sebring at night and mine were off, had to restart 3 times before my lights were on.

And boy oh boy do we need HID upgrade lights. Fog lights too

I have not encountered this bug in more than 10 days of playtime.

The headlight brightness in this game is pretty good, better than Horizon 3 in fact. Some conditions will be harsh regardless of how bright your lights are.

Nevertheless, I find Rio and Dubai difficult to drive because the headlights don’t turn on when you enter the tunnel, which is something they could and should fix. In Dubai the first corner when you enter the tunnel is particularly nasty IMO.

It’s totally random, sometimes you have the headlights and sometimes you don’t (even if it is the same track).

For me, I play a lot in the Endurance GT Hopper. Always come across no headlight races in Spa, Le Man. Just have to learn to deal with it.

Today I was in the P Class Hopper, came across a race at the Nurburgring Nordschleife with no headlights, totally unplayable.

Hope Turn 10 could fix this and give us a headlight on/off button.

Just today i did 10 laps on Long Beach via the free play mode.
I got the dusk setting (i guess) where the sun is really really low, you cant see it anymore, just the corona. And the view on the track from the in car cam was way too dark, it required headlights, but then i switched to hood and it was okay-ish.
Have to say that i am not a fan of that dark/bright difference between cam modes. I get what they want to achieve but more often than not i find that the track from cockpit view is either too dark or too bright whereas outside of the cockpit it looks always better. Cockpit view is my favorite view but lighting looks always a bit off there.

The glitch is still there. If you change your car after being loaded into a night track, the headlights do not come on. If you’re racing online and the next race is at night, it’s best to just stay in the car you were in last race. I don’t think Turn 10 is aware of this issue so it probably won’t get fixed for a long time if ever.

For me for example lights are on once I’m in some night track, but once I get in some dark place for example tunnel during day I don’t see anything. If i take a look in mirror, all the rest of cars has lights on.

I would also like to be able to turn the headlights off. Because driving during the day with a pop-up headlight equipped car, with the headlights on, looks silly.

They need to map a button for us to toggle headlights on and off, I mentioned this a couple times. Why not on the d-pad smh

Headlights or even wipers in Forza ha don’t make me laugh far too much hard work for T10.
This game is going backwards.

For nissan gtr 2017 headlights (whet breaking) is not workong😐
Or why you can’t turn on/off headlights

I would like to chime in as well - the headlight issue ruins racing in low light conditions:

  • first off, there many socalled ‘night races’ where you still see light with the sun setting and the cars will project beams because you selected it as a ‘night track’ from the menu
  • why can’t the developers also get the cars to project beams in ALL low contrast, late eve/afternoon/early morning or overcast racing conditions?
  • My car’s headlights will automatically go off a lap or two before the end of a race in overcast or rainy conditions
  • all cars will have their headlights of, even though their brake lights and interior lights will be on
  • lights turn on for some cars, stay off for other cars… what?!
  • bright orange glow int the tail lights in low light racing conditions - what’s this? an HDR issue or the game penalizing me for not playing the game on an HDR TV?

way too many bugs to describe in a post - please just address them once and for all - ALL headlights should either stay ON or OFF depending on racing conditions. Period.

Ran COSTA track at night in a 02 camaro ….couldn’t see a damn thing…no headlights on!!!

Ah yes, good old bugs that will never be fixed. I bet they will announce an option to turn on/off headlights as a feature of the next game.

Don’t understand why they keep ignoring this. They will never fix it. Speak up people

Why is it that cars automatically lose headlights when you’re scrolling through the car selection menu pre-race? so strange, really - something that can be fixed but its still broken.

if this requires too much coding to resolve, then please just give us a toggle switch to turn out lights on/off. it’s really annoying to see all cars with their tail and dash lights on and no head lamps!

i’m also seeing a lot of bright orange ‘glowy’ brake lights on tracks with low contrast conditions. is this hdr related, or rather lack of? they look almost like head lamps or broken tail lights, if that makes sense. would be very thankful if someone can elaborate. this was a bit of an issue in fh3 but it seems really overblown/over-exposed in fm7. aren’t tail lights supposed to look red no matter how bright they are what kind of leds they have?
