Gameplay - No lights on car or track at night/dark and fog

Real people turn on lights when it begins to get dark or if weather conditions warrant it. And they wait until it’s plenty bright before turning them off.

The game forgets we’re human and turns them off when it’s still pitch black and waits until you can’t see the track to turn them on.

I actually noticed that in one of the career races in update 5. I thought i hit a wrong button but then realised there doesn’t appear to be a button for headlights.
Wonder why they turn off automatically when its still dark…

Why aren’t we able to turn them on and off ourselves??

This has been bothering me for a while.
There are no lights on the car while it’s still dark outside.
I’m playing career, JDM Suzuka with Toyota Supra, it’s 6:20am, sun has not come up, it is dense fog and there is no lights on the car what so ever. There is no lights on the track either, I can see the lights are turned on everywhere around the track but it doesn’t illuminate anything on the track. I can hardly see where im going or where the turns are.
This is a problem with Forza overall, can hardly see anything at night. And in bad lighting conditions the lights on cars are not turned on and there is no option to turn them on. Can this please be fixed?

I found the same problem doing the current career tour, 1960s Grand Prix at Brands Hatch. I assumed it was because the cars themselves lacked head and brake lights, but now I’m wondering if T10 actually test these things before implementing them, because it’s a glaring fault.

Watching a R1P Kaylos YouTube video today, I saw that I’m not alone in struggling to see at Brands. His solution was the same as mine: turn on track limit markers, but he was in a Ford GT, a car designed for 24 hour races so equipped with decent headlights in real life.

I’ve already had a few races where the lights are turned off at dawn, even though it’s still dark and you can hardly see the track

I know this is probably what you don’t want to hear but, have you tried turning your brightness up if you haven’t already.
Also just strictly off of curiosity, what tracks too?

Great post. They should give us manual low and hi beam toggle. This is beyond ridiculous. We should have control over headlights and wipers.

I have a similar post voted. 2018 Chevrolet #23 hs no working headlights during race.

Idk why they edited the title for replay it’s during the race and replay…

It’s such a ridiculous issue, really. I’m still seeing cars with dash and brake lights on but no bumper and/or headlights on.

Then, I see TOD transitions where cars can CLEARLY benefit from headlights on but nope, you’re expected to whizz through the track in darkness and use your expert half-night vision to finish the race, LOL

Give us…a… headlight toggle… NOW!!

It is a very strange design choice indeed. This never happens in real life unless the track is properly lit from the sunlight and you can see properly see around corners without headlights.

I hope they improve the headlight on/off algorithm at different times of day or at least give us a manual toggle. The latter option is really practical and I don’t think anyone would object to that!

I don’t understand why in late afternoon, evening and sunset if the track lights are on then why are my car’s headlights off?

Makes no sense whatsoever.

We are closing this topic as “Won’t Fix” for technical reasons: car headlights are aligned to game-world timing and cannot react to brightness.
