Indy and F1 cars do not have headlights IRL. And during night races, the tracks are very well lit like Yas and Daytona.
I think this is a great idea - just like F5, the LEDs and/or parking lights would remain lit which looked very cool. Though it bugs me how you canât toggle headlights on/off during the day, and that some cars do not have theirs on at all - cars with flip-open lights and some cars like the 69â charger and 94â ZR1 do not have any lights at all during the day.
wat so f1 and indy cars gotta run around in dark find there way na m8 common sense to take out night races for x class as its designed for F1 and indy. lol
F1 and Indy cars donât have headlights at all, and can therefore only be raced on well lit tracks, just like real life. Example: Yas Marina. Or Daytona, for stock car/NASCAR.
Do you want light pods or LED bar upgrades for your F1 cars, perhaps? Iâm sorry, youâll be deeply disappointed. Itâs not gonna happen âm8â. Also, common sense, âm8â! Yeah!
Not.
(not talking about night races in career where you are forced to use the driving line or buy a car with headlights I posted a topic about, because thatâs an oversight)
In addition, and I guess this is related to the content update, but it seems that cars with pop-up headlamps/headlights do not turn on in Forzavista mode. This appears to be the case for all cars with âpop-upâ headlamps/headlights - Iâm still checking them to see if it affects all cars with that option, but so far that appears to be a âyes.â Selecting âexplodeâ from the menu causes the lamps to pop up without being lit, which seems correct, but when you actually try to turn them on, it appears that only the dash lights come on. I havenât checked all taillights yet to see if theyâre turning on or not, but I will be looking into this.
Still working my way through all cars with pop-up headlamps to see if âforward lightingâ is an issue, but still seems to be limited to the Lotus Esprit V8.
Correct - many cars with pop-up headlights do not have their lights turning on in F.Vista. I think the RX-7âs lights come on, but not sure.
And yeah, I created a thread about the Lotus Espritâs seriously limited headlight range. Impossible to drive at night.
It was T10âs decision to keep the headlights on during day races. I was very happy with what they did in F5 - just having the LEDs/parking/bumper lights on during the day.
What really needs to be fixed is the inconsistency between ALL cars with âstandard integrated headlightsâ turning on during the day and none of them with âpop up headlightsâ turning on during the day. Either they should keep them ALL off or on, OR⌠give the user the option to toggle them.
Why have pop up headlights staying off during day races while ALL other cars have theirs on? Makes no sense at all. Either itâs a glitch or a deliberate design decision for whatever reason; again, canât think of a reason why they did this.
Tested the Mazda Cosmo last night and all appears to be well. My âacid testâ for any car is the Virage dâArnage on the Circuit de la Sarthe (Le Mans). If you come around the corner and your lights illuminate the Porsche sign as soon as you do, then youâve got enough range to see adequately ahead. If they look like the Lotus Esprit above, then youâre pooched, to put not too fine a point on it.
Example:
With respect to lights during daylight races, for tracks where the sun is either at dawn or dusk, e.g., Bathurst - Mount Panorama, Nurbrugring - Nordschleife, etc., I am good with the parking/positioning lights and interior lights being on without pop-up headlamps coming on (interior lights not being on in Forza 5 for dark tracks was one of my issues with the game). For daytime races, I donât want the headlights âup.â For night-time races and rain, sure, I want the whole lighting package to be on, but not in broad daylight on the Mazda Raceway (Laguna Seca), for example.
Mentioned in the general bug thread, but might as well add it here too. Mazda Cosmo has headlights that donât emit any light. If a Cosmo was driving behind you, in your rear view it would look like they have headlights, but for the driver they do not actually illuminate the road, at all.
Just did a night race a Sebring in a Cosmo and had no issues at all with the headlights. Spent two laps with no cars close to me either ahead or behind so I am sure I wasnât picking up light from other cars. Going to try Spa tomorrow, since its darker overall, but could be an issue that doesnât affect all racers?
Why would you want headlights to be on during the day? Popup lights in particular really shouldnât be on in daylight unless youâre washing them or changing a bulb. Theyâre for rain and darkness. Iâd say that if the game has a car with itâs main headlights (not daytime running lights) on during the day, it would need to be fixed. Likewise, a car that doesnât have itâs lights on in rain or at night also needs to be fixed. I also agree that cars with no headlights should not be allowed to race at night.
Country Squire also has flashing headlights, every time you press the brakes the headlights come on, I donât think this is supposed to happen, although itâs kinda cool.
They fixed none of the in-game headlight issues. Only Forza Vista ones, as if that matters more!
Speaking of⌠I wonder why the cars sound so dreadfully basic in FV when you start them up rev, compared to Forza 4 and 5. Especially 4.
I would love to see an option to toggle headlights on/off on command, whether itâs day or night. If you can do that in Photo Mode, I donât see why you canât while racing.
In B class ghost league play, tracks are randomly presented to you. If decide to race SPA at night with your 1939 Auto Union youâve been having fun with up until this particular track, youâre going to have a bad race. Night racing should be more difficult, but not impossible.
