The headlights and taillights of cars in this new Motorsport are so dim/weak compared to the super realistic car lighting in GT7. During night races, the headlights can barely light up the track when racing on dim lit tracks/ sections. The taillights hardly glow or have any brightness. What is even the pint of having them when you can’t see them. The exterior lightning is extremely weak here and are no match for FH5 and GT7.
What is strange is that the headlights and taillights appear to be much brighter during the intro cut scenes for a race. As a Motorsport game, the basic element of car lighting needs to be seriously improved. Fog lights should be enabled in hazy, fog a rain conditions as well.
It’s a shame as even FH5 had brighter headlights and taillights and that still isn’t as bright as in real life.
I’ll be posting some screenshots soon to highlight this issue!

Does this issue still persist after recent updates? Does this occur for all cars or just some cars?
Would it be possible to provide a video of this in action?

I took these screenshots yesterday. In my opinion all lights could use some more brightness…

@JetPartySalad. Yes it does and this lighting issue exists on every cars. I’ve routinely checked for visual updates after update 4, 5 and 6. Sadly it’s still here. The exterior lighting serve no purpose in this situation - they do no light up the track and corners ahead and they are not visible for the racers behind to know when to brake or not.
Some examples of exterior lighting depth, glow, brightness and internal reflection in FH5 and GT7. Notice how both games mimic the IRL behaviour of car lighting systems.

Headlights only project about 50 feet down track. You literally can’t illuminate more then two brake markers at once, i can only assume this is why you guys put food lights on every adores of the norddghleiff

To be very frank with you, each car should illuminate the track according to their real world headlight luminosity.
The option to toggle headlight hi/lo beam and fog lights or bumper lights should be an option in the game by now. So many lighting issues would be resolved. And yes, the headlights and tail lights definitely need to be brighter although they are an improvement over FM 7, at least there’s visible glow/halo around them unlike FM 7 which has generally weak headlight and tail light effects.
It’s extremely frustrating that the exterior vehicle lightning has not been fixed. The game has been out for nearly 10 months.
There’s still absolutely ZERO luminance and glow from the headlights and the taillights. They are extremely weak in brightness when lit and under braking even with Update 9 since nothing has changed.
Raced on Nordschleife last night in darkest setting. My headlights were very bright far down the track, so…fixed?
No it hasn’t been fixed. Take a look at any of the pictures and your own gameplays. There is no glow from the headlights and taillights.
The headlights serve their basic function of lighting the track ahead but again, there is no glow and luminance.
Just observe the headlights and taillights on almost any car in FH5 and Gran Turismo 7. They are bright and glowing in GT7 and even FH5 like they would in real life!

Sorry but I’m getting plenty of glow and luminance around my headlights and tail lights with the former lighting up the road appropriately at night, although a hi beam option would definitely help.
Have you tried to tweak your HDR again? It has to be something on your end otherwise everybody would be getting it.
Please increase the brightness.

I have say Forza rear lights illumination is not very good… in real life even standart modern era rear light are pretty bright and pure in color in evening and night… led light are even more, colors are eye drilling pure and very bright. In Forza colors are faded and brightness is not looking real. GT7 looks much more real, rear light colors are pure and strong.
It kind of looks that Forza uses SDR color space in game hdr mode and GT7 uses real HDR colorspace (P3 or Rec.2020)
