I’ve been having crashing since the new Rally update came out. It won’t even get past the screen with the comments about the Mexico Ministry of Culture. Went through all the troubleshooting, completely removed & reinstalled the game, & then opened a ticket through the Forza site.
Ticket got closed as “solved” after Forza Support told me to open a ticket with Microsoft Support instead.
How is regular Microsoft Support going to help any more than Forza support? Does regular MS Support now have access to things the Forza team does not?
EDIT FOR CLARITY: Every other game I have installed, FH4, Halo, everything Steam, GOG, Ubi, or otherwise works just fine. Only FH5 fails to run on my PC.
Hey have the precise problem my self!
it started with the previous Nvidia driver and launch of the Rally DLC and it’s still current in the latest driver so i think this is game related not driver issues! all other games runs perfect.
some time the games need 2 / 3 attempts to even start
Be lucky it’s just 2-3. The highest I counted was 12 attempts. I’ve an AMD card. So, it’s definitely not GFX driver related.
Win 10 Pro, AMD Ryzen 7 2700X, 32GB RAM, AMD (Sapphire) 5500XT 8GB. Not the newest, not the best but it does the job for everything else and Forza…if it starts.
I am on Windows 11 Pro 16GB RAM Rtx 2080TI, Intel i9
A wild guess is that the Xbox Game-Bar maybe causing the issue
because after killing it in task manager as some one said,
The games indeed boot.
Xbox game bar has a strangely way spooky the system sometimes.
As first i was suspicious it can have to do whit the SteelSeries Sonar app for my headphones!..
i feel kinda out of options here so i hoping it solves it self
A fresh install of the OS dont seems to do a sheit

I’ve been playing FH5 since day 1 on a gaming laptop (an Alienware X17 with a 3080 Mobile). Always ran fine until the Rally update. Now, it crashes at the second smaller “loading” banner if launched normally, or at the screen about the Mexico Ministry of Culture if launched as admin.
I’ve reset/repaired/removed+reinstalled everything gaming related. Still crashes. FH5 is the only game that fails to launch on my PC. Heck, even the XDefiant beta will run just fine on this laptop.
The support ticket route from the Forza site was a bust, as they basically closed my ticket as “solved” after I reported the problem. Being a former tech support person, that really rubs me the wrong way, since the issue isn’t solved, it has just been kicked further down the line.
I personally never use the Game Pass app to start anything. I always have shortcuts created during installation & launch from there.
The game also worked perfectly for me prior to the Rally update, which is why I’m looking at the update as the issue.
Mobile cards are usually just down-clocked versions of their desktop counterparts in order to meet thermal constraints, so the code paths shouldn’t be different between a mobile vs desktop graphics chip.
And my system should be able to run FH5 just fine, even with the Rally update:
I’m running a gaming laptop with the 3080 RTX mobile.
I have 32GB of system RAM, 16GB of dedicated GDDR6 VRAM, the OS on one NVME drive, & all my games on a second WD Black high performance NVME drive.
My CPU is an 11th Gen Intel(R) Core™ i7-11800H @ 2.30GHz, 2304 Mhz, 8 Core(s), 16 Logical Processor(s)
And Windows 11 with all the latest updates for everything (drivers, BIOS, etc).
The fact that the game crashes without even logging an error in the Event Viewer or in some log file doesn’t help anything. You’d figure that the people from the support side would at least have some suggestions on how to collect more useful information regarding the crash due to this, but they have provided none so far.
Just loaded the update from today. Still can’t launch FH5. Gonna uninstall everything & then only load the base game to see if it starts up that way at least.
