Forza Motorsports 6 -2015

OK, I know that FH2 is the rave right now, and rightly so as that is one awesome driving game! But at the same time FM5 is still the most amazing driving simulator out there and so with 2015 right around the corner I wonder what Turn10 Studios has in store for the next version of this game. For one, I would like to see some of the social form factors from FH2 included in the game, pit stops, night and day and weather along with missing tracks Monza, Monaco and COTA!!!I

We know it will be released next fall, they stick to their two year per motorsport title, alternating now with Horizon. What they will include is anyone’s guess as their design decisions of late have been puzzling at best. Hopefully some sense of community will return with some missing features making a return in some form, but nobody is holding their breath on that one. FM6 is definitely not on my pre-order radar. I’m waiting to see what they announce, as they’ve been pulling some shady tricks recently. As an Xbox One owner even i have to say they treated 360 owners pretty badly. Promising DLC and then saying 360 owners weren’t getting it, but only a week AFTER release is not on.
So we have to wait and see what they do, but i’ve always had blind faith in Turn 10 until FM5 dropped. It’s a good game, but they crippled the community aspects so much. That’s why the forums aren’t as lively as they used to be. They need to pull something special out of the bag for FM6. I just hope they can, but i’m not hopeful…
With other racing titles coming out we’ll have to wait and see how this plays out, it’s gonna be exciting times for racing fans, I just hope my favourite franchise can pull it back.

Well, let’s see what THEY come up with for FM6, and since FM5 is still so awesome and dedicated to serious racing, I have faith MS and T10 will do one better for FM6, for real!!!

It is?

Yup, it is! I read an article about the physics employed in the game to determine the tire contact path et al. I can’t find that article and will continue to look for it, but there is one I did find that speaks to the superiority of the physics engine in Forza games. Edge Magazine | GamesRadar+

PS. I take that back…this is the article!!!

The point Mr. 2DEATH is making is that despite the attention given to accurate physics, little attention has been given to actual racing conventions.

Convention sits atop accurate physics! What I’m saying is that you have to get the car physics right before your build conversation into the game, and from some of the replies in this forum, it appears that will be taken care of in FM6.

Can you please clarify that last bit?

Actually let me put it this way - I have seen no official news on this website about anything in FM6. I have also never heard anything unofficial about the things the hardcore racers want.

We can expect (hopefully) some improvements based on the FM5 complaints but whether it will go far enough for the hardcore remains to be seen. (I don’t mean hardcore Forza player, I mean hardcore sim racing fan).

With PCars releasing the same year i think T10 will be forced to make try and make the hardcore happy or it could go the other way as they might see 2 Hardcore Sim racers on Xbox One in the same year too much and they’l continue down the same path of Forza 5 in trying to appeal to non gaming car lovers to start buying games and the casual gamers on Xbox One.

I hope Turn 10 doesn’t push harder for a casual experience. I want to see more on the Motorsport side of the title. Things like spec car racing seasons (Not 5-9 event 3 lap races… Each race about 30 minutes in length) longer races, endurance events in career, some actual race rules and penalties. I am sure the matchmaking side of things will be ironed out, so I am more interested in what’s happening on track. To me it seems as if Forza is slowly turning into “Buy it, paint it, drive it”.

And when will we get the option to custom map our button layouts, and adjust the in game seating position, and field of view w/o having to back out to the title screen?

The problem is while you and I want it to be more Motorsport orientated T10 never set out to make a game like this nor is there any indication it’s the route Forza will go down! Forza is MS answer to Gran Turismo which is a car collecting game which you can drive your favourite cars on tracks with other cars.

Yes, yes and yes. It seems they almost forgot they put ‘Motorsport’ in the game’s title. If they care about it, they would go for:

  • More race cars obviously (and less loners, cars that have no rivals like the Chaparral, the DBR9, the 787b, the Audi 90 et cetera. Forza 4 was much better with GT3/2/1 and LMPs)
  • A real career mode that makes me feel like a real racing driver, not just a long list of events (aka grind fest). Endurance races are more than welcome if there’s a day/night cycle + weather
  • A few sim features? Like proper pit stops, flags, free practice sessions, qualifying, formation lap and so on (see Project CARS)

For the rest (community features, storefront, menus etc.) see Forza 4.

Look, all T10 has to do for FM6 is add some of the wiz bang social content as it applies to circuit racing, and this includes cutaway screens for pistons, different tire types, especially for F1 and IndyCar, night and day, we and dry, more tracks, more variety of F1 cars and IndyCA, improved physics engine for more haptic feedback worthy of FM6.

serious dedicated racers want:

publicly searchable custom lobbies
hoppers that arent 3 lap sprints
tournaments again like fm2
career and exhibition leaderboards again
local leaderboards
local ghosts, not just your fastest lap
pit strategies
Forza TV like it was in FM2 being able to watch any race or tournament at any given time that is being played
Player stat history viewable in lobbies - avg speed, podiums/losses etc

None of these things exist.
FM is aimed at the casuals now, they dont want the racers. I dont think all you newer players get what has actually been removed from the game over the years.

I hate to necro this thread, but I just wanted to thank you for this post.

Now that Turn 10 has two separate series of games from the Forza franchise, this kind of stuff is exactly what they need to focus on with Forza Motorsport. Leave all the other crap to Horizon. FM2 is still the best of all the Forza’s in my opinion, because of the reasons you specified, and when it comes down to the physics, I still see glaring problems that were present in FM2 all the way to FH2 (I skipped Forza 5 and the first Horizon), such as RWD cars apparently having casters for rear wheels if you upgrade the cars to have any sort of power or throttle response over stock.

I’m enjoying FH2 due to my hiatus from the franchise, but it’s just because it’s my only racing game for the One right now, and it remind me more of Test Drive Unlimited than anything else. I want an honest to goodness racing simulator the likes of which I haven’t seen since Forza 2. Oh… And some anti-aliasing on the newer, more powerful hardware might be nice. Disappointed in the amount of jaggies in FH2.

GT6 just added create clubs, Lobbies, Leaderboards, Race Events etc etc We were told Forza 5 would be unrecognisable due to constantly getting updated i really dont understand the logic behind that as for me it’s the exact game we basically got at launch…T10 should really take a look at what Poly are doing with online.

I just played Horizon 2 last night and absolutely hate it. Its like playing a stupid NFS game with a clown from FNF hosting it. Its for kids. Back to playing Forza 5 and I really hope we don’t have to wait another year for 6…

Okay so Forza Horizon 2 just came out a couple months ago. 1080p 60fps, beautiful game. A huge feature brought in is rain. The rain looks amazing. Now assuming that rain was in this Forza what would the only sensible thing to do? Include rain in Forza Motorsport 6.

Another feature that I feel that Forza hasn’t completely developed or used it animated pit stops. It does seem very funny to see the cars magically fix itself.

Also the car list needs to be improved from the last Forza Motorsport game. Another big request feature and one I strongly agree with is timed endurance races (at least proper ones) and night racing and night cycles. That would also include the use of the “sticker” tire. Sticker tires are the tires you see on Formula one and the blancpan gt series. Sticker tires make it feel that much more authentic. Especially with the upcoming game Project Cars that poses a threat to the title of “best racing game” on Xbox.

-Customization
Another huge thing should be the ability to customize tire lettering. That would just be epic to see, I mean who doesn’t like tire lettering?

I think that the selection of HRE wheels on FH2 is amazing and I feel forza should expand its horizons in terms of wheel manufacturer partnership. I feel that fifteen52, vossen, forgstar, forgaito and other mass wheel manufacturers should be involved. Another area Forza could touch on is possibly individual wheel spoke and individual wheel colors.

Now in terms of “customization” Forza Motorsport lacks body kits. Plain and simple, body kit manufacturers such as liberty walk, rocket bunny and other companies would be a great addition to the body kit option. Also having wide body kits I feel that offset and spacers should be added to tuning. Windshield stickers I feel should be added to the game. When making a replica in Forza Motorsport we are often unable to have “exact” replicas because if things like this.

If you feel I missed anything or you would like to add feel free to comment below.
