E3 2015 Forza 6 Interview Question Thread [UPDATE #4 INTERVIEW IS LIVE!]

Hello all!

As you all may know, E3 2015 is coming up in less than a months time and it is more than likely that Turn 10 Studios and Microsoft will reveal more about Forza Motorsport 6. Just as we have been for years, we (MotorworldHype.com) will be attending E3 and the Xbox Press Conference to dig up all the new details we can get.

We will also likely have a chance to sit down and talk with Dan Greenawalt on camera to discuss Forza Motorsport 6. That is where YOU come in. In what has become something of a tradition we want to act as your representative if/when we talk to Dan and try to get some of your questions answered. As such we started this thread so that you can post questions that you want us to ask Dan should we get the opportunity to speak with him on camera.

We really want to give as many people a chance at this as possible so we are starting this thread earlier than usual. Some of you many already be familiar with our annual tradition and know the rules but for those who don’t here is how it works:

  1. If you have any questions that you want us to ask Dan post them in this thread

  2. We will pick the best or most commonly asked questions in this thread and pose them to Dan should we get a chance to interview him.

  3. If a question we pick from this thread already gets answered in say, a press release or at the Xbox E3 event we will omit it unless we feel like there could be some more digging to do there.

  4. Refrain from posting “complaint questions” i.e. “why doesn’t forza have _______ like ______ game has?”

  5. THE DEADLINE TO SUBMIT QUESTIONS IN THIS THREAD IS THURSDAY JUNE 11th 2015 10pm PST.

  6. If it is after the deadline but you still want to submit a question then tweet it to us @MotorworldHype and if its good we may use it.

  7. There is NO GURANTEE THAT WE WILL GET THIS INTERVIEW. There will be many other media outlets there and many of them are frankly bigger than us and often get priority. These events can be very dynamic and things can change at a moment’s notice. HOWEVER, we have a pretty good track record with the Forza team and have never previously failed or been denied an interview with Dan. As always we will do our best!

  8. Should we get the interview we will post it on MotorworldHype.com and post the link to it here!

UPDATE NEW RULE

9. If you can’t think of a question yourself but see another one posted in this thread that you think is good then click the “like” button for that post. Questions that have a lot of likes will definitely have priority consideration for the final list.

I think that covers everything. We will be checking in on this thread to take note of the questions you post and if there are any changes or any new things to announce we will post it here.

Thanks in advance and we look forward to seeing your questions!

UPDATE #2: THE LEAKS!

Well, yesterday was certainly a big news day wasn’t it? In consideration of the “leak” that turned semi-official the following bits of information are albeit confirmed:

-Porsche will be in FM6

-There will be night racing (semi-confirmed)

-There will be rain (semi-confirmed)

In light of these developments questions about these topics will not likely be asked as they have pretty much already been addressed. If you have not asked a question yet then we would recommend avoiding the aforementioned topics.

If you have already asked a question about one of those topics (Porsche, Night racing, weather) then we would recommend going back and editing your post to ask a different question. We will be going through all the posts in this thread again to note any changes and start noting which questions are standing out the most thus far. Remember the deadline to submit your question to this thread is Thursday June 11th 10pm PST. After that all questions must be tweeted to us at @MotorworldHype

UPDATE #3 MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!!

We have successfully completed an interview with Dan Greenawalt at a special event held today. Among all the questions asked we selected 6 based on amount of likes and a bit of our own discretion.

Here are the questions we asked:

In addition to answers to those questions we have new tidbits of information to add as well including our first gameplay impressions but we are under embargo until Monday June 15th at 11am. That is when we are targeting all of our content to go live! Once everything is up you can find all of the videos at MotorworldHype.com and on our YouTube channel at YouTube.com/MotorworldHype.

We will post all appropriate links here once content is live. Thanks again to everyone who participated and thank you to Dan Greenawalt and the entire Turn 10 team!

Also, Forza Motorsport 5 took a big step in graphic improvements over Forza Motorsport 4. Will users see another noticeable improvement in graphics in Forza Motorsport 6?

Other than Ford, which partnerships will be featured in FM6 and which do you know will not be in at launch? (Top Gear, FIA, IMSA, F1/Indy/NASCAR etc)

It would be helpful to see the transcript of your last interview with Greenawalt to see which questions he was willing to address.

Will there be any new additions (upgrades or features) aimed specifically at circuit racers, drifters, drag racers, painters, tuners, or Forzatographers?

I’m not expecting details, but a simple “yes, we have some new things planned for xx player group” would do.

Will Forza Motorsport 6 move towards a more serious motorsport game or continue down a path of dumbing it down to be more appealing to casuals?

(I’d prefer a more serious, more hardcore motorsport title with options to make it accessible to casuals versus just simply focusing on being casual-friendly.)

I Totally agree with you.

I can understand where you are coming from Ice Man but this is an example of a “complaint question” that was mentioned in the original post. Essentially this question boils down to more of a statement saying “I think Forza Motorsport is being dumbed down…stop it”. Which, is a valid statement to make and a valid opinion to have but its not really going to help anyone learn anything new about Forza Motorsport 6.

The team at Turn 10 has always held the strong belief that Forza Motorsport is meant for the hardcore racing game fan so we asked Dan if he is going to “continue” to “dumb down” the Forza series he’d just take offense and say the obvious answer which is “no” and then maybe kick us in the face.

That won’t help you and it definitely wont help our faces.

There is also the fact that the topic of “dumbing down” is subjective. What may seem like a simple, broad approach to some may seem quite complex and challenging to others. We would recommend to everyone who wants to post a question to keep their questions detail oriented. However, if you really do want to ask a more subjective question please phrase it in a way that prevents us having to insult the previous games or dev team.

This question for example: Instead of telling us to ask if they are going to “continue down a path of dumbing it down” perhaps it may be better to ask:

“Will Forza Motorsport 6 aim more towards core motorsport fans or will it lean more towards casual racing game fans?”

This still answer’s Ice Man’s questions without us having to dump on any previous games or Turn 10.

Anyhow that’s the end of that little PSA. Please continue to post questions as we check this thread at least once a day to see what’s new! We like what we are seeing so far and we can tell already its going to be hard to narrow down our final list of questions!
