Yes I have my gripes about it too and yes fm4 had a lot of content that’s missing but I tell you what a lot of the moaning isn’t justified and I was one of the moaners …
I joined a group last year called tvrf.co.uk these guys showed me side to FORZA I hadn’t seen arranged a community away from FORZA.net , I moved on from them to gamers league central here I found a even bigger group that wasn’t just about FORZA but Xbox gaming in general
I have since with 4 close buddies founded my own website ppsmasters.enjin.net the social side of this game isn’t lost and the clean racers haven’t disappeared their just not on here or in public lobbies , I watch super Gt’s YouTube channel and I see him saying public lobbies are getting worse and he’s right they are but not because FORZA is in anyway lacking quality players or clean racers at all levels , their just in private lobbies enjoying this game to the max and what a game it is
Turn10 do need to be more vocal and collaboration is key with its groups it needs to find a way to bring these groups to here and use their power , the game is going to come up against some tough competition soon with the new Windows ten and cross platform as asseto corsa and pc get betterand better , we urge you turn10 to let us help you make FORZA the game we know it can be
English is my first language but I have troubles with certain things not that it’s any a your problem ! The post isnae about my spelling or writing skills
Yes, yes it is an amazing game, and always has been. I wish I was able to enjoy a more structured, club type aspect of the game. But, my lifestyle lacks any real organization and isn’t conducive to it. About as structured as I get is making it to my many doctors appointments (usually on time).
I know the better, cleaner lobbies are private. That has always been the case, too, and it has never been easy for us slower players to get into those groups. But, even with the pandemonium that IS online multiplayer, I am still enjoying FM6 a lot.
I did see a thread on here where a lot of the older guys (age) are trying to organize some kind of clean racing club. That’s probably one I will try to get involved with.
It’s nice to see positive posts!
Yes that was EVERCOOL racing a few lads from our group are goin their too for that …join up with both groups example we do have people posting top 30 times but we do have some reeeeeally slow people to and it all adds to the fun of the game judging back markers etc and we host races that even out the balance to give u a shot of winning
Wrong. I have well over 100 forza friends and maybe 3 or 4 actually play regularly. Small sample size, yes, but given that and the rarity in finding anyone decent online, yea they have disappeared.
I’ve been in enough private lobbies to know that there ain’t many out there.
There are plenty of clean racers on forza 6, I have raced with them. You have to look for it but the community is there, plugging away and enjoying the game how they know it can be enjoyed.
Plenty is a stretch. I’ve raced with some but usually I find players who mean well but can’t drive at all. There’s a reason I had so many forza friends and many others I couldn’t accept friend request due to 360 limit…they were plentiful. Now days you have to really search.
If there was a ton of clean racers, then week 4 of MLG 3 vs 3 wouldn’t have been canceled because only 2 groups of clean racers signed up. If there were a bunch of clean racers, there would be a bunch of them having fun in the tourney.
I’ve been watching Super GT’s stuff for a while now and he is right on a few things with the lobbies, HOWEVER, if you employ some of his “How to deal with online idiots” strategies, you end up having a better race. I usually do. I love Forza 6, and I’m so looking forward to Horizon 3.
as the founder of TVRF for me most drivers have gone 2 different ways.
They sign up to big sites offereing prizes then vanish once they see how fast others are, or they move to another game.
sites like Tora and Turn offer prizes to series winners so they take most sign ups even though most signing up cant win they go there thinking they can then are forgotten as mere numbers with 100 other sign ups.
Smaller sites like mine are there to have good clean racing, were not looking for 100 racers, we are happy with full lobbies or even half a lobby if the racing is good, nothing beats a close race.
We want it smaller as then the drivers will get to know each other, you can build rivalries, see if your improving by how much closer you get to the faster guys and enjoy good banter.
We race on both forza and pcars and yes we would like more members racing but if less mean good racing then thats fine with us.
we don’t only want the super fast guys, we take anyone that can race clean,we allow any assists or views as its about the racing not what you use to race, controller players and wheel players are welcome and yes you will get some banter form wheel players if you run with the controller but its all good natured.
i think forza lobbies will shrink as more is offered, for years forza was the only really race game, but now you have pcars, and soon to arrive assetto corsa so of course drivers will split between them.
if your looking for good clean racing take a look at a smaller site, your more likely to enjoy your time there than racing somewhere your just another number.
It is a good game and has its moments - the track experience is good too. However, one can’t help but compare it to previous milestones. 4 and 5 achieved a lot more. It seems 6 was rushed and all about track and especially car count.
I don’t think plenty is a stretch, I think it’s fair. Sure there are people that can’t perform as well as their ability allows them when they are in pressured situations like being overtaken or being closed down on the last few laps, or even being the guy with the best pace on the last few laps. This doesn’t mean he isn’t trying, but he is learning. Perfect drivers that don’t cause accidents like yourself should be coaching and telling these people how to position their car and how to deal with pressure situations. I have found that the fast guys have a natural feel for the game and the cars, they have a natural ability to drive fast. I have also found that a mediocre guy can be taught techniques and trained to be faster. Even the slow guys can be taught how to be mediocre. But the biggest thing I have learned in real life and on the virtual race track, race craft is key, you can be the fastest guy on the race track but if you don’t know how to anticipate and react to a situation, or position your car to influence another drivers decisions, then you will consistently be involved in accidents. A mediocre guy can have better race craft than a fast guy and finish ahead of him in a race or even in a season long championship, and this can be accomplished fairly and within the rules of racing.
The OP is 100% right, this is an amazing game and one that can be enjoyed with many good people. The community is there and is growing. I would encourage anyone who enjoys the game to join up to a club with people that suit your personality, views on how forza should be played and ability to drive. The community will get stronger and stronger as these groups grow with time.
Totally agree. Running a short three week, 6 race series, teams of two, haven’t won a race yet and my teams in second place, 12 points out of first. Patience, consistency and experience.
My lists is closer to 200 and there are a lot of tags that aren’t racing, they’re playing something else or on the Netflix. But there are also new people everyday, and I’m picking up people left and right, sometimes from who knows where?
As for private lobbies, it’s always been the place to be, and I don’t remotely entertain comparisons to public lobbies, hoppers or even the leagues ( although certainly seem to be the bet public option) as a bar to judge the quality of racing available.
If you really want really great racing, you have to find it. Perhaps that’s the greatest failing of the current version of Forza, that finding it is SO hard to do.
If the game was how you described then there wouldn’t be so many complaints about standard hoppers and leagues. Most people would be working together towards a common goal. Sadly that’s not the case and hasn’t been for a while. Couldn’t tell you the last time I had a driving/forza car selecting 101 convo. It was pretty fun seeing people get better with good advice.
The community is stagnant at best. Most are just lurking or waiting for friends to tell them that “enter bombshell announcement not related to cars here” has occured.
Yes, I’m not disagreeing that you haven’t had an awful time racing online, I’m sure you are a good racer that has had more than his fair share of bad experiences. All I am saying is that there are more decent people than bad ones. That doesn’t mean the decent good natured people are at the same skill level that you are, but they are able and willing to learn. We have a platform here to encourage the community towards better behaviour, we have the tool that is the Internet at our disposal, and gamers have used it to set up all different types of clubs away from the main forza Spotlight. This is why it is tough to find the good guys, but they are here. You are one of them, 99% of the people that post on this forum are included.
Maybe a sticky section in the racers lounge could be put up for car clubs, with sub sections for club news, blogs, recruitment, series announcements etc. This could help open up the world that this Forza can be, it isn’t perfect, but it’s better than not having anything. Forza should have included all the best community features but they didn’t, there are enough coming threads about this, there will continue to be complaints about it and hopefully they can rectify it, or at worst, fix it for FM7. But the reason you still open up the game is because you love what is at the core of it, the tuning community, the painting community, the racing community and the game and diversity that comes with it.
