First things first, THIS ISNT A TROLL POST
Ive always loved the FM series since i played it on the original XBOX all them years ago
After getting FM2 with my 360,the other ‘simulator’ on PS3 was dead to me
After buying every Forza release on the 1st day,i really enjoyed FM6 for a few weeks.I gave online racing (read:derby) a go and posted a thread on here which had around 13 pages last time i checked with people agreeing with me that wreckers need to be banned
Now,i just seem to have lost interest in the franchise for the moment.Who knows, maybe FM7 might rekindle it
It just seems the lack of T10s input into these forums and major flaws on this game really havent been addressed which is quite a shame!
I do agree turn10 should be doing more to clean the hopper’s. You would think they would have people in these lobbies taking out the trash but I’ve yet to see anyone from T10 in a regular hopper.
I have to agree with everything you mention. I’m still playing the game however it’s the tuning comps and community aspect that are managing to hold my interest. I still enjoy tuning cars for comps and just for fun and very very rarely dipping into multiplayer but that is usually very short-lived due to the enormous amount of morons. I have wondered if it’s in fact me that’s growing out of the game but I don’t think that is the case. The parts I enjoy most about this version are indeed the same things I enjoyed about earlier versions. However for some reason after FM4 T10 decided to decimate the community aspect of the game. I guess we’ll never really know why they decided to go that route for FM5 after making probably the greatest racing game still to this point in time with FM4. In all honesty this may well be my last Forza, I hope it’s not but only time will tell.
A little example. I was playing in the Lambo league on Saturday. Not Grasroots, one higher. You had at least 2 wreckers in every race. Rarly less mostly more. Old Hippie could confirm me or correct me if I´m wrong. For every of this guys/gals/whatever leaving anotherone joins. So should I as player save every replay and watch them all before reporting a player, so I don´t report someone falsly? I think this is the job of Turn10. This is what I paid for. To have clean races. Yes, the game is big and I have tons of respect for Snowowls doing here. But it looks like, they are doing nothing and only waiting for the players to be active. And this is in my eyes the wrong way.
I don´t understand why Turn10 is not active to prevent their game from geting or already being a Destruction Derby and a home of cheaters aka corner cutters & Co. FM6 is such a nice game an they are going to rack and ruin their own masterpiece. Tell me simply why…
I agree, there are times when it seems like genuine griefers are on some kind of tag team rotation through the lobbies.
It is a very tedious task, to save the replay and go back and review them all to identify the real wreckers and dismiss the occasional bumping, or missed braking point. I agree there should be a better way to handle it. However, I am a realist, and I realize it wouldn’t be cost effective for the developers to employ enough people to constantly police every multiplayer lobby.
I look at A LOT of replays. The most important thing I have learned from watching them, is that there are far fewer actual griefers/wreckers than there are mistakes made by overly aggressive drivers who think they shouldn’t have to negotiate there way around slower traffic. Yes, the real griefers exist, and they are easy to identify in replays. But, I really think a lot of people should take a few minutes and review their own tactics. It’s a humbling experience, I can promise you that.
We can get the griefers to a manageable level in my opinion, but until the majority of players start respecting everyone else and learn proper race etiquette, online multiplayer will always be frustrating.
The easy fix to this would bring back public custom lobbies so the host can kick the wreckers and corner cutters. Until that happens rivals and private matches are the only way to play this game
That’s all well and good but often you are wrecked at the very start so have to wait for race to end or replay won’t save. I save ten a night then it takes two hours every day going through, documenting cars, racers and incidents then uploading and reporting. I for one didn’t pay almost 50 pounds for a game, 35 for Xbox live plus internet charges only to sit wrecked and watch the idiots earn league points and laugh. Often the allocated number of replays are insufficient meaning they get away it. Other people know nothing about reporting as turn ten don’t advise them. I found the forum post by fluke. I love the game and it could be a great one if they offered loyal customers some feedback and help in targetting the wreckers and cheats. Corner cutting could be stopped very easily and then the fools who cut then come back on track to wreck honest racers would have no opportunity to do so. I’m a loyal forza fan but seriously considering going to other games as nothing is done. One guy does it himself voluntarily and if he can’t for personal reasons no action is taken. It’s very poor customer care regardless of how it’s viewed. Just my opinion.
My key interests in Forza is Racing in MP, Rivals and painting, with career very low down the order.
As far as MP is concerned, I cannot connect for some time now, but found a few great guys to race in private lobbies, so all cylinders running there for now. Still really miss the leagues though and obviously the fact that I will not qualify for the final Huracan.
Rivals I will allways enjoy and the Lambo series brought some new spark there. With T10 bringing back the unicorns it’s even better. Just hope that after next week something new will follow the lambo series.
I’ve always been a keen painter and learned a lot from the paint masters around. Motivation lack these days as very few incentives exist. I know painting is for fun and satisfaction and I always looked at it that way, but with the absence of a proper storefront or at least a sharefront that works, there comes a point where that becomes a bit vague. AND if you combine that with a somewhat useless Forza economy, it gets harder to find that painting sparkle again.
So yes OP, I still very much enjoy the game for the reasons stated, but will have to see what the Forza future holds.
I used to play every night, but nowadays I only load up Forza when I feel I’ve been playing too much Rocket League. With DiRT Rally on my console now there’ll be even less time spent playing Forza. I still join the Turn 10 live streams and comment on the forums of course, but when it comes to playing the game I’ve been doing very little of that lately.
Forza Motorsport 6 is a good game, but it’s missing that “hook” that keeps me playing for years: Custom Public Lobbies.
With the recent Leagues and challenges being set I have found myself playing more than ever. so much so that its closing in on BF4 as being my most played game (racked up 580+ hours on that).
so no, not over FM6 yet. and probably wont be till long after FM7
Ive mostly lost interest, I still do some tuning and hot laps but Im pretty much done with leagues and online. Bringing out the Unicorns rekindled some interest and I will still keep an out for Unicorn events. Special liveries and the like hold no interest at all. This is the fewest hours I have ever spent on a Forza title, hopefully they bring back the missing features for the next one.
yes it has its problems, a few infact but without doubt it is so much better to drive on that the ppl i know are sticking with pcars bugs and all just because theres nothing like it for driving feel, when we feel like driving slidey boats we play forza.
now i know some ppl will like how forza feels but it really depends on how you play, for me i can play forza but have to use a pad as the game is designed for the pad, on pcars i can use my wheel and get so much more from the game then forza can ever give.
at the end of the day its money, the reason T10 took out anything that may upset paying customers was so they buy the game, they are going for the casual market as that is where the big bucks are, dumb everything down and then re-sell it as DLC, its the way games are going and i think ppl are wiser now, when a game was complete on release you played it over and over but now you get half a game and ppl lose interest, then they release another and its the same game with more taken out!!!
So if your looking for something that offers the feel or a proper sim racer then it has to be pcars but if your after some simple fast fun then forza can be good.
T10 have a fan base so they should really now be making a sim not the same game they have made for the last 10 years but with less and less stuff included.
NO THANKS, not for me. I’ve tried it for 6 months last year while waiting for FM6 and for me it was a disaster. I just dont have the time or patience to spend a hour or more everytime I wanna play just to apply warkarounds to sidestep the bugs or re-create the tunes. Might work for many others and I’m really glad for them, but my experience with that game was a nightmare. I’ve got a broken Logitech wheel and a Logitech report to prove it. AND from what I read not a lot have changed. GT7 or AC perhaps in the near future, but not PCars.
I think Project Cars is the best racing game on the consoles right now. And with all the updates I’m not seeing any of the issues I was a month ago. I have it for both consoles and love it. It just does everything better/ Handling, day to night transition, weather effects. I still play forza 6 every now and then but the sliding around, lack of proper braking , and the puddles that make you lose all control are just to unrealistic for me.
The pain that it is trying to play a game that you have loved for a long time only to be ruin by some players and the GREED of game creators is what pushing people away. Most “SERIOUS” players are either moving to some other games or moving to private lobbies which in essence will be the downfall of a historic franchise. Some things have been working lately such as banning “crashers” but the game is just to BIG to police everything. Yes, i have lost some interest specifically in MP, i enjoy playing with my budds and tunning competitions that i get involved with. There is no definite answers to the problems now, but who is to say it wont get better? Only time will tell.
I’ll second this post! I have been racing in the Forza Motorsport frachise since FM2! Imissed FM5 due to not being able to justify the £400+ needed at the time for the NEW CONSOLE and a HALF FINISHED (TRUSTME, I’m being generous!) game! So, when the opportunity arose to get a cheaper console AND FM6 + Porsche Pack, I jumped at it! Imagine my disappointment when confronted with a ‘‘game’’ that had all the charm of a 15 minute old Big Mac n Fries! £350 wasted! YES, the game LOOKS nice, but I am not a ‘‘pixel whore’’. A racer needs an environment he can call ‘‘a level playing field’’. Unreal upgrades persist, as do lack of payback for those who think they are training to be SNOW PLOUGH DRIVERS! After SIX VERSIONS of the franchise, we still have to endure “Wall riders”, “Wreckers” and mis-matched abilities, skills and peripherals! (more than ever, those using wheel/pedal set-ups are seeing a performance advantage!) Children whose attention levels can barely register, are routinely allowed to “play” on track with drivers who take every race as serious as if their career depended on it! WHERE IS THE SENSE IN THAT?
Compared to FM4, STILL the best Forza, by far, this has been an EXTREME RETROGRADE STEP, in my opinion, AND that of the DOZENS of racers I have engaged with in lobbies! What are T10 doing about this? Are they engaging with the FANS? …NO! …Dont be stupid! WHY WOULD THEY? They appear to believe they can do no wrong? Are they improving the World’s automotive image or knowledge with these games? Are PHYSICS & ENGINEERING being honoured and promoted through these games? …NOT A BIT OF IT! THIS is gaming by the lowest common denominator! SHAME ON YOU TURN10! …SHAME ON YOU MICROSOFT GAME STUDIOS! …and SHAME ON ALL THOSE WHO ALLOW THIS TRAVESTY TO OCCUR, UNCHALLENGED, EVERY TIME!
KNOWING how sensitive the moderators are to T10 criticism, I don’t expect this post to survive long, but if it does, THE FIRST STEP will have been taken. The rest is up to you!
