Let’s get real here for a second: what is T10’s end-game strategy? Release another FM game focused on an insane car count?
Are the issues with sound, visual bugs and control ever getting addressed? Dirt Rally, Assetto Corsa, PCARS 2, GTP and GT7 on the horizon… T10 you are about to have real competition. Up your game please, address the current game’s issues and listen to your audience!
He is absolutely right though. I don’t agree at all with the odd car complaint, with near to 600 cars sure there is something there for everyone. But I fully agree that Turn 10 need to up their game because strong competition sure is luring around the horizon. For me that would be GT:Sport, I don’t even mind switching platforms if it will turn out that the best racing sim/semi-sim is on a PS4.
Not to mention the ‘look’ of the game is quite good IMO especially compared to Forza’s over saturated colors.
Then there is the sound. I never realized how much I was missing in the sound department until I played Project Cars and Dirt Rally.
Needless to say, I find myself playing Forza a lot less than I used to but that’s ok. T10 has every right to go the direction they so choose and the great part of it is, its my choice whether I choose to follow and take part or leave it all together.
It’s a great time to be fan of racing games with so many options available now.
Compared to WRC5, DiRT is a great game! love it. and the mentioned things above is really satisfying and enjoyable.
but I must say with a controller, I have never ever rage quit so often before in my life in a game.. lol
yeah really hard with a controller. so different from FM6..
Great driving there PJ- as allways
and love your car choice for the pikes peak. I need more hours in it and I haven’t had the time yet but im looking forward to it. look for KA KAMIKAZE. he is an old FM player and a friend of mine who have left FM for Pcars and DiRT with a weel setup. he has currently several WR on DiRT, mostly gravel. he streaming on twitch almost every day aswell.. he is crazy fast!
edit: Sorry for the off topic.. But DiRT is probably the best rally game ever made!
I love how you guys are saying there’s real competition on the “Horizon” without any irony! lol
Yes Forza will not only start to suffer through competition it already is. After Forza 5 launched many of my friends jumped to Project cars, or went PC and got various sims. Off the top of my head, only 3 of those who jumped ship came back. Mainly through interest in the weather effects and because of the community. The community is all but dead and the weather effects while nice are nothing other games don’t do also. So those people have already said they won’t be back. They mostly have jobs etc and very limited gaming time. I still play some Forza, but I have more time to kill being long term ill.
But I find myself playing Forza a fraction of the amount of time i sank in to 3 and 4. Lots of that is not that 6 is a bad game, it’s not, but it has issues and they refuse to even acknowledge them. Which is infuriating as a customer. I have only bought a couple of DLC packs for 6, haven’t wasted money on VIP as at this point it’s a couple of special paint jobs, Woo hoo!
Forza 7 i’m not even pre-ordering. I only pre-ordered 6 as i got the LE Xbox One. I heartily recommend the Forza LE controller by the way. Those diamond grips make a world of difference.
I agree with Breyzipp on the cars issue cause, being a car lover, as long as it has 4 wheels and a fuel tank, I love them, some just less than others.
What I am worried about is the rest.
Hoppers and Leagues are not available due to connection issues (believe me, it’s not my ISP or system), though in the past I stayed away from public hoppers anyway due to the bad environment.
Painting which I used to be addicted to just have no insparation anymore because of the current sharing system, forza economy and another thing or two.
Career is long forgotten now, been there done that.
So after about 6 months, I’m left with Rivals (which I do really love) and I was over the moon with joy with the Lambo ST series, only to find out that I cannot participate in the League part of it due to “cannot find a game session” Oh boy, how I hate those words.
Racing with friends in a private lobby is something new and brought some new hope, but we are struggling just about every night to keep guys from accross the globe on board due to connection and sound issues. I very seldom complain and dont do it now, neither do I blame anyone for my declining interest and enjoyment. The signs are just there that there are little prospects for things to improve in this game that I am/was so passionate about for many years and that I need to find an alternative.
I do find that I may need to get another sim game such as Asseto Corsa coming in july. I hope that their multiplayer works. Although racing private lobbies is fun in forza , I do however miss my drag racing. Beating people in drag races was so much fun and then my multiplayer just stopped working many moons ago. but anyways all we can do is hope that Turn 10,Microsoft ,forza fix these bugs that we are having.
My collection of Forza Killers (Grid, Shift, RacePro, etc.) is looking forward to sharing dust with all these new titles that will surely kill off Forza for good this time!
I do read your message between the lines and also very much doubt if Forza will be killed by any of them, it’s survival against previous onslaughts shows that. Forza is just too taylor made for the new generation to be stumbled, let alone being killed. However, I also believe that a shift in the profiles of Forza players is inevitible though and that’s the part that will change Forza’s culture, for the good to some and for the bad to others. It just depends which side of the coin you prefer.
A shift in players and personalities is always and has always been inevitable though. I’ve been playing Forza over ten years, been on these forums for the last nine and a moderator for the last seven. While I, like many, feel that FM2 was the high-water mark of the series, I recognize that that state of affairs is almost assuredly due to the time in which that game took place and the collection of players gathered therein and less a function of the game itself. People grow and move on, they develop new interests and new responsiblities that take them away from the luxuries they once enjoyed and they are replaced by new people who have different expectations and wishes.
And then there are those select few that spend their days on the forums pining for what they believe are previous glories through their rose-tinted retrospective glasses. Day after day after day, clutching their pearls and bemoaning the threat to Western Civilization posed by the game developer having the temerity to execute their own vision.
One can almost feel the existential pain Turn 10 must be suffering as they prepare to announce the next Horizon title with their partners Playground Games and as they plunge forward headlong into development of FM7. One wonders from where they can muster the strength to carry on.
