I play with a logitech G920 / G941 and i use clutch with several cars so I can use clutch, but you want to say that drive a EB110 with clutch is “specific” ?
If I remember correctly, quickest EB110 tunes are using either no gearbox/clutch upgrade or just street gearbox upgrade to save PI for other mods. So it is required to use M+C to reduce shifting time.
I tried fully upgrading both gearbox and clutch on the EB110 and it still shifts really slowly with M, it can really only be used competitively with MC no matter what the tune.
I don’t have tests but that’s what I think. If car has slow gear changing, MC on a controller is the fastest. It’s probably not possible on a wheel because of much bigger hand movement.
Only under perfect conditions (Rivals) and on tracks with crucial acceleration zones. No one would use it in Ranked for good reason.
Certainly not a car to recommend, especially not to players who still try to understand how the performance side of cars works in this game.
The skill barrier of this build is the reason there are no complaints about it. From a raw performance point of view it’s more overpowered than any of the meta cars in A or S2 are.
Just been trying out the new Celica ST205. Tried it in A class, and it wasn’t great, so moved onto S1. It’s not THAT bad, but even with race tyres and front and rear aero it’s quite lacking in grip. It’s less grippy than the rally tyre Ford GT!
Did 3:51.7 on my 3rd attempt, with the AI on New Racer. I’m sure I could take a bit more off with more attempts, but it’s never going to beat the '05 Ford GT. The tune is shared if you want to try it, Mekepek.
Makes sense as the Celica dont have base downforce and only downforce it gets is from aero kits. Base Ford GT has downforce and aero kits gave the car a lot more downforce.
Wondering if anyone else has tested S1 cars on high speed tracks like Colossus? I haven’t seen much information around this. This is AWD and automatic shifting, I play a lot but I’m nowhere near at the level of some of the hardcore players.
Top 30 I have so far (In order, but not listing hundredths as they are close enough another attempt could switch them):
5:03 Nissan 370Z
5:03 Lamborghini Aventador '12
5:03 Aston Martin DB10 (JB)
5:03 BMW M2
5:03 McLaren F1
5:04 Jaguar XKR-S '12
5:04 Ford GT40 LM
5:04 Ferrari F40
5:04 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 '02
5:04 Ferrari Portofino
I have times from another 70 cars below this. Interested to know what others have clocked on this track with just a controller.
Did you check out the rivals leaderboard? Sorry if that may seem like a silly question but someone posted the other day to actually ask for a rivals mode, because they didn’t realise the game already had one. They just hadn’t been able to find it.
Running Auto will probably be costing you quite a lot of time on Colossus. My best is a 4.48 in the Sagaris FE but that’s RWD and running MC and could be fairly significantly improved with time (Rayne has done 4.45 with minimal effort in the same car). There’s no obvious cars missing from your list that I’d expect to do well AWD/Auto.
I just thought I’d try my NSX on Colossus with auto and quickly gave up because it’s obvious it’s really slow. Firstly it changes gear far too early and secondly when I slowed down for the right hander and tried to accelerate, it stayed in 6th rather than changing down as it should have. Basically if you want to set any sort of remotely competitive times you need to use manual.
JSR Devon actually made a very good video on YouTube regarding manual vs auto shifting in Forza (Motorsport 7 however, but it’s the same in horizon and everywhere else to be fair). Auto shifting is obviously much slower as it will keep you starving in too high gears way too often, for example when going uphill. Manual shifting is not that hard to pick up, clutch is only really needed for certain cars.
Just going back to the list above, the Ford GT 05 looks quite significantly out of place on reflection. I just had a quick run at Colossus with Auto on and ran an easy 4.54. I’d have thought I could run 4.52 with a few attempts. What tune are you using Rick? My time was with Breeminator’s tune, which I think is mentioned earlier in this thread.
I’ve also just skimmed through the top auto times at Colossus. The one in 8th is clearly using a speed cheat. However, the one in 192nd using a McLaren 12C looks genuine and probably AWD so might be worth trying that car if you haven’t already. The other Auto times in the top 300 look to be Ford GTs or King Cobras (the latter of which will be RWD).
