You say you had bought the consoleonly for the game, but I do not understand why you have to do a sync than. Last time I had a choice between the savegame on the hard drive and the one from the cloud.
I have to say that that I had to return the console again due to the grinding noise of the fan - …crap.
My game has the same problem tried everything but imma just wait now cuz it just says “Syncing data for Forza Horizon 2” and it’s on 99% and it’s been syncing for around 4 hours and the last half hour it’s been on 99 and I would be devistated if I lost my progress as I am a level 240 and I have played 14 days and 13 hours and I also have 376 cars
My forza horizon 2 was syncing for 3 hours and when it had synced i started the game and it started the campaign from the start but i had my club and car packs and others and i had completed the horizon finale allmost twice can someone help me please get my save back and my levels back i was level 150
Hey guys same thing happened to me, i contacted Xbox support 4 times about this and they couldnt help me at all with this instead they told me to come here and post on the forums and ask for help. If anyone can help us that would be great, for example i was rank 175, earned 9 million credits, spent 3 million on parts, made some really great tunes and designs, and my garage was altogether worth about 16 million. Now its all gone, if anyone from turn 10 reads this please help me and the other people above to fix the issue, please feel free to PM me regarding a reimbursement for my credits and what ever else can be done.

I have the same problem, I came to the forums to find a way to fix the problem, nothing that I see can work. I have an estimated 19 million credit value overall. I lost all of my designs, cars, tunes, as well as a few other things. My rank was about 178 if I can remember right. Many thanks if this problem can be solved!
I was finally able to get my game working again, but all my points and cars are gone. How do I get them back? How can I be reimbursed with my points, etc.?
I had this very same problem over the last couple of days with FH2, FH5, and FH6. All I can say is let it do its thing. Eventually it will work. The other day it took over an hour to sync FH2. I have asked if it wanted me to load the save on the console or the cloud. Pay attention to the save on the console. If it was a day that you didn’t play, then it is probably going to start a new game. I loaded from the cloud because I didn’t want to take that chance. We all have too much time and energy into these games to start all over. Good Luck!
I first ran into this issue 3 weeks ago and as of 1/1 I still haven’t been able to play FH2. This problem was reported dating all the way back to near release but it seems that just after the last 400mb patch the number of complaints about this specific issue increased 10 fold. Did the patch do something or is the timing of the increase just sheer coincidence? It doesn’t matter, this should be a non issue and there should be communication that this problem is being actively worked on. As far as I’m concerned, T10 has now edged above Ubisoft as the worse customer support from a game developer and is the reason I no longer buy Ubisoft products.
Add my voice to the WTF chorus. I have tried multiple times, even being patient (tough for me) and the best I got was a hang at 99% for 6 hours. The time and effort put into this is anger generating at the best thinking that it is all down the tubes. If there is a problem at the server level, let the community know. If a good or logic problem, let the community know (how much retrogresion testing done for this latest patch or was it just the usual “test for what we are introducing or fixing” and not a thorough test. Let the community know you (T10) are aware of the issue - an acknowledgement would go a long way in starting to rebuild faith and goodwill.
I had this problem about 3 months ago, forza horizon 2 was synchronizing and nothing happened, finally it gave me the option to download a saved progress from the cloud… Surprise… I lost everything I played in a lapse of one year! I love the game, but I don’t want to play it anymore. I could play six months and the same could happen again!. Very disappointed here Turn 10, not to mention, I owned forza 5, and 6, and the older ones two, like forza 1 and 2.
