Car Upgrades

  • 2005 Honda NSX-R has a new MUGEN body kit

Car Audio

Updated audio has been introduced for cover cars featured in the Spirit of Motorsport Tour:

  • 2005 Honda NSX-R
  • 2003 Nissan Fairlady Z
  • 2010 Audi R8 5.2 FSI quattro
  • 2009 Ferrari 458 Italia
  • 2013 McLaren P1
  • 2017 Ford GT
  • 2018 Porsche 911 GT2 RS

AI Drivatars

We’ve introduced a major update to our Drivatar AI system with significant improvements to collision avoidance and side-by-side behavior, especially during those tricky race starts. See the full announcement discussion here.

Car Proximity Radar

Car Proximity Radar is now enabled by default in Featured Multiplayer. Players can still adjust its placement or disable the feature via the Settings menu.

Featured Multiplayer

  • We’ve adjusted the default fuel amount to more closely align with the number of laps in each race.
  • Balance of Performance changes - see below

Drift

  • Fixed an exploit where players could rewind back to before the starting line in Drift events to earn extra score.
  • Leaderboards for the Welcome to Drift 101, Welcome to Drift 102, and Welcome to Drift 103 Drift Rivals have been wiped.
  • Additional fixes have been deployed to help further improve lobby sizes after the multiplayer services change made with Update 18.

Wheels

We’re introducing steering wheel calibration and lock-to-lock turns designed to be specific and authentic to each car in the game. This will be most noticeable for race cars, which typically have fewer degrees of steering lock-to-lock. Prior to this release, the default steering behavior was to use the full range of your steering wheel for all cars – which could be tuned globally in the Settings menu or per-car through the Tuning Setup menu.

With this release, now that we are accurately simulating steering sensitivity for each car, we needed to reset the user’s “Steering Lock Range” in the Tune Setup menu as well as the “Steering Sensitivity” in the Settings menu.

The default force feedback settings have been adjusted for most wheels as well. If you have already tuned your steering wheel settings, the new default settings will not overwrite your configuration. Check out the Advanced Wheel settings to calibrate your wheel for the best experience.

Legacy Forza Music

A selection of iconic music from Forza Motorsport 3, 4, 5 and 6 has been added to the game’s soundtrack playlist. We also commissioned 3 entirely new sequences of music from Forza Motorsport 3-5 composer, Lance Hayes, which have also been added to the music playlist. You will hear these pieces before and after races, in the main menu, and when loading into events.

Okay, well, I have my answer now. The anniversary celebration will cost 5€. That’s really great. It was really worth postponing everything for that.

Here we are. I’ve been sitting on this for a month, since the playtest, and I was waiting to see if maybe the official release would prove me wrong. Well, it doesn’t.

Update 20 is meant to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the franchise. Update 20 comes with 6 cars, which less than in the last 6 updates. Update 20 comes with one track, which is a normal amount of tracks for an update. Update 20 comes with one major feature, meetups, which I think says a lot when that’s more than the average. There’s an update to the AI, some fixes. Overall, by the numbers, not the biggest update we’ve seen.

And if that was all, I wouldn’t even mention it.

The problem is that this isn’t everything that this update brings, is it? It also bring the #2 most requested car, and the #6, the Mazda Furai and Ford Mustang GT3. Except not quite because there’s a thing between your players and these cars: 4.99€

And I have to insist on that part, the #2 most request car is coming in a celebration update behind a paywall. That already ticks me, but somehow it’s not even the worst part of it.

No, because there’s an underlying issue there. We learned in January that the stuff announced last August had been postponed indefinitely to make room for this update. For a paywall.

To put it simply, and E for Everyone, I’m outraged. Maybe you don’t care. Maybe nobody cares. But I need to say it, I need to manifest it so it can stop living rent-free in my head.

I think the one thing everybody on this forum can agree with is that we all hate the FOMO stuff. We don’t agree on much, but that, we agree on. And it’s easy to count how long we’ve been asking to end it. It’s been a nice, round 20 months. More than a year and a half. It took all of twenty months to not adress this glaring issue, but there was time to make paid DLC? Do you see where the outrage is coming from?

Frankly, support for this game just has not been good enough to earn more of my money. And maybe this is too harsh. Maybe I’m taking things too personally. Maybe this isn’t particularly constructive.

I’ll risk some non-constructive criticism here anyways because… well, because I tried. I tried the Suggestion Hub, voting, giving feedback, the surveys, the insider program. I think I’ve done more than the average player to be constructive, and the moments where I felt anyone on the other side was listening have been far and few between.

At the end of the day, this is a AAA-priced product and it comes with AAA expectations. Those expectations haven’t been met as far as this paying customer is concerned. And when you strip away the hope, the trust, the attempts to be constructive, I guess what’s left is the outrage.

So, sorry-not-sorry to be harshing the vibes on your birthday, but I’m not going to celebrate.

For the first time in history, there is an accurate Silvia S15 model in Forza. Shame it’s not the bone stock car

@Pooya995016 can you confirm that featured multiplayer races will include Fujimi Kaido in their hoppers, or will it just be Open Track Day and Drift?

Hi. I don’t know. Sorry.

Outstanding update, but, which is the next track and what will be themed?

I am very impressed with this update, especially the changes noted for racing wheels. I have only been playing FH4 and FH5 (loosely) while waiting for Forza Motorsport to get some life back into it. I think I may finally attempt a return to the franchise based on this!!

Also, hey Max. Nice to see you around here still!!!

Welcome back Ialyrn!

And… not a bad update, I gotta say. Pretty excited for the [Redacted] GT3.

Hi @OohHeChillin . I actually expected this. It would be more reasonable to release any prototype car for update 21 (or any update that is close to any IMSA & WEC events).

I’m not celebrating. It’s just a game that I enjoy. New stuff is fun. I just want to be able to race on FK, not drift and “meet up”. Because this is Forza Motorsport which was supposed to be about racing. A 3 lapper at FK with people of similar skill level and like minded racer would be an intense experience. Just like the Nordschleife.

Let’s hope that happens.

To celebrate the 20th Anniversary of Forza Motorsport, we’ve created a special ‘20th Anniversary Tour’ that will be permanently available in Career mode.

I wasn’t dooming, I was just asking because there wasn’t a word about Update 21 in the article
