Silvia 00 should be fairly competitive if it’s power required.
I got the 20 point car and the only race I had to do was the Forzathon weekly drag strip. I feel like they make it pretty easy
Definitely don’t sleep on the Silvia if some HP is needed!
I’m excited for releasing the “stryker viper” vinyl group next week.
I had to do some re-working on it just now, as I had used some masking layers in it, and apparently that’s a terrible idea if you want to be able to use the group on top of another vinyl (see how the viper is applied on the Viper AE).
So lesson learned, and I now have the rough draft of a Viper-ized Sagaris.
Also… I learned a silly trick/shortcut for dealing with lettering in the vinyl editor. If you’re spelling something out, just use the duplicate button while in position mode to lay out the spacing of the letters how you want. So like “G”-> duplicate-> move to the right → duplicate → move to the right. I know it looks silly seeing “G G G” there, but then you can go to teh second G and change shape to “T” or whatever you intended, and then it doesn’t force you to start the positioning back from scratch. It’s easier to swap letters in place than it is to change the letters then try to get them aligned with your words.
Very nice @ziperrPL. Good grip and enough power. Enjoyed driving this.

I’ve been doing some testing of some of the best options for the trial. So far, this is what I’d recommend:
KTM Xbow R

Drivetrain - RWD
Tyres - Rally
Los Jardines Test Lap - 51.4
#100 Lynk & Co
Tune - K1Z Bard - 473 794 840
Drivetrain - FWD

Los Jardines Test Lap - 51.9
Ford Supervan 3
Tune - Larvel007 - 125 080 921
Drivetrain - AWD
Tyres - Rally
Los Jardines Test Lap - 52.0
#20 MG6 Xpower
Tune - Breeminator - 594 223 110
Drivetrain - FWD
Tyres - Drift
Los Jardines Test Lap - 52.3
Morris Minor FE
Tune - PlatsFormers - 192 103 787
Drivetrain - RWD (throttle control needed)
Tyres - Stock
Los Jardines Test Lap - 52.4
Great test and results! Notice none of those tunes are AWD! I was going to do the Lynk but turns out it’s not in my garage… I must have accidentally sold or gifted it. Been trying to score in the auction house but it’s been impossible.
The Supervan is AWD. I couldn’t find an equivalent pace RWD version.
Missed that. What’s great though is that in FH5. AWD is not as META as it was in previous versions. Especially on circuit races. The only downside with an RWD build is that it’s not as stable in contact situations as an AWD car. Which is why I have kind of gone away from posting RWD trial builds.
I have been using my AWD version of KTM in trial runs and it’s not that much slower than RWD version, I think I got in Los Jardines 51.9 so half of second slower than what Jezza tested.
It’s been working very well in actual trial runs, about 10-20 seconds faster than second place so far.
I did the trial in a stock Caterham R500, beat 5 in races 1 and 3, was beating 5 in race 2 before I decided to get rammed off the track, no way back from that
anyway, anyone done a tune for the R500? It is fast though stock is a pain to control
Here’s my tune for the R500. It’s AWD and it still has a bad attitude…hahaha. It’s a good amount of power in a lightweight car and you can feel that. Don’t try to dive bomb any corners. Properly setting up the corner is crucial as this car gets off the corner in a hurry.

I prefer my BMW GTR tune. It’s not going to light up the leaderboards with top rival times. In about the two dozen trial races I ran. It’s been the fastest car on the track. It’s comfortable at speed and predictable.

Yeah, contact in a trial is a given. (Maybe a constant? Constant contact?)
I mean, it’s usually not continuous, and if I can get out in front of the pack it’s usually smooth sailing… that’s a big “if” though.
Yes, I tried this as well and ran 51.5, so very little difference. However, it isn’t quite as easy to drive as the XNDR one.
I’m going to try a few more tunes though as the lead Xbow time is 50.3/50.4 and I don’t think I should be a second off pace on such a short track.
LogikJ has a rally tyres AWD tune which I’ve done 52.6 on Jardines (and I see he has a 51.7 run presumably with it). It’s wild though - basically requires perfect control of the slide on each corner.
My preference though is the race tyres RWD version and share code 148 003 715 is the best I’ve found. Requires throttle control but probably no more than the stock version and can run 52s.
I don’t really like the Caterham (sorry) - note comment in separate post below. Felt a lot better second time around and will do low 53s.
The GTR is nice though. I ran an easy 53.6 lap at Jardines which for the more normal cars in the Track Toy category will be very fast. By comparison, I did 53.8 in Mars RWD version.
Improved the GTR time to 53.2, which was very similar to Zip’s Project 7. The other “normal” car in the low 53s was the Cayman GT4. Otherwise, the others I tried (M3 GTS, M4 GTS, RC F, Z/28 and HW Mustang) were all a bit slower - just under 54.
Actually, the HW Mustang is better than I thought. Last lap was around 53.1:
No need to apologize. I agree with your assessment. The R500 is not nose heavy enough for me. Perhaps I could’ve ran a different tire and reduced the HP? The GTR was my main car from the beginning. Thanks for giving my tunes a run and I’m glad you put in some great times with that GTR.
Hmm, ok I just tried it again and it felt a lot less understeery. Ran a 53.2 fairly easily whereas I was on 54 before. Not sure what happened there but it was fine to drive this time. I’ll edit my post above.
Edit - I also then tried the LogikJ rally tyre tune again as well and was at 51.9 pace as opposed to 52.6 before (which makes a lot more sense compared to his 51.7) and the car felt far more grippy. Very odd. Possibly I had some setting different earlier and didn’t realise.
The Caterham tune is great. Expected a horrible, slithery tune with the steering wheel left out of the build. But it has a good weight, fast and is very stable.
