Gone gold was announced last week. I saw a question and answer on Amazon that implied that you might have to update Horizon 3 to receive the pack. I haven’t tried in FH3 so I can’t verify it myself. When you redeem the code it downloads a 100 MB or so placeholder to your console. As far as I know there’s no preload, probably because they are waiting till the last minute to up the final version.

Once you have input your code for FM7 go find the hoonigan pack for fh3 on the xbox store and it should appear as free
You might need to restart your system though

Wow, one week out? Looks like I’m gonna miss early access. I work in the Middle East and the garbage provider( who has a monopoly on our internet) we have charges 400 bucks a month for 1024kb, so I’m on the free 120kb. Even if I let it download non stop, I’m still not gonna be able to play until after the general release, most likely. Beautiful

If playing on xbox best choice is canceling and getting a physical copy.
Assuming it’s a 100GB as it says on the Windows Store on PC you’re going to be downloading (with 120kb/s) 83 DAYS non stop.
You will have it by Christmas.

Even with 1024kb/s it will take you 10 days non stop.

Given that the provider throttles the speed down to smoke signals, isn’t there also some sort of data cap?

*Relates only to the “black cloud spell” and Not MS/T10/PG

well with that really slow connection you should have buy the physical version…

Provided your not a PC player… In which case the only option is the Digital Download Play Anywhere version…

Wait…50GB Day One update for physical copy holders? Man, there’s gonna be a lot of Ultimate Edition holders that are gonna be spending that extra 4 days downloading.

Sheesh. It’s just taken me 3 days to download Titanfall 2. Looks like the entirety of the early access period will be taken up installing the rest of the game here…

You can still play through the single player campaign using the disc, the second playthrough is in the update. I doubt anyone will go through the entire campaign once before the download completes, of course we don’t know what else is included in the rest of that update…

That’s the norm these days. Massive updates on all games. If 50gb takes you four days you might want to think about a new provider. Where did you see the preload was coming a week before launch? I haven’t seen that officially anywhere.

I thought I saw something somewhere that MS that Pre-loads could be from 7-10 days prior, but I don’t know anymore. MS is VERY confusing.

It’s not always about the internet provider. Some of us, like me, live out in the country, so no I can’t just instantly move somewhere else either.

There is also an option for satellite internet, most of them have speeds varying from 5 to 25 Mb/s. Anything from 10Mb/s and up reduces the download time to less than a day.
Although most of them have a data cap, but its mostly during peak hours. And some have no cap at nighttime hours.

For people paying premium prices for very low speeds this may be an option.

Also some mobile carriers now have unlimited data plans with high speeds. Using your phone as a hotspot and downloading over 4G could also be considered for some.

For most those are not solutions for now, but maybe worth checking up on for the future

I’m not suggesting that you can only that this is becoming the norm now. It’s a raw deal for you but content delivery is leaning this way and games and software aren’t getting smaller. My internet is ok I guess but it’s not the greatest. I’ll have to wait like everyone else. Amazon told me they might have preload up to three days early but I haven’t seen any indication that there even will be one. From the looks of it, launch time might be go time for downloads on this worldwide.

let’s hope that the ultimate edition will pre download all the 95gb before the 29 september… not that we pre download only the 45gb and on 29 we will have to download the update… in that case bye bye early access…
