Engine Sounds are wrong and shared across manufacturers...

So I went and drove the F-Type R, Range Rover Supercharged and Range Rover Sport SVR - they all sound quite different, but the SVR sounds like I expect the F-Type R to sound!

That’s an engine note (including supercharger whine and cackling overrun) that I WISH was shared with all the cars that feature that same engine (the Jags, Bowler etc) …

We can add the Class 1 spec Nissan GT-R GT500 to the list, its supposed to have a small 4 cyl. turbo but in game sounds similar to the V6 turbo Ford engine in the Riley DP and GTE Ford.

I doubt we’ll ever see a fix for sounds in this game, if you play for za horizon 2 and do the bucket list and with the koenigsegg and drive it in cockpit view it sounds like the E92 M3 and it still hasn’t been fixed, after forza 5 car sounds have just been going down hill and to be honest its just going to get worse with every iteration

Crossing my fing ers for a fix Nov. 2nd.

Wouldn’t hold my breath if I were you, but no harm in being positive!

I would like to note what I did not like is they took away the turbo whistle on the Lancia delta. I do not know if this is simaler to the real car or not but this was in horizon 1 and if you drove though a tunnel its sounded amazing. It was my favrite part of all the Lancias

I’ve stopped playing the game alot recently due to the annoyance of the sounds - too many of the cars sound the same when they should be unique, it just makes it so boring

Surprised this thread is still going!

But true that - you will find no such issues in previous Forzas on the Xbox One or 360.

This concerns me though; I do not like the direction things have taken and since they are now introducing so many cars on launch (700+ for FM7), I can’t help but feel that we might get the short end again.

Here’s hoping it doesn’t come to that.

Same here. 700+ cars at launch is making me suspicious as well. On both the handling and the sound

I can honestly say the sound department or the people who made the sounds in this game need to redo them. Every car sounds the same, and the V12 are so quiet i needed to max my volume to hear the car idle. I’d rather listen a weed wacker then the V12’s in FH3. [Mod Edit - Ungrounded ranting removed - D].

The more Forza games come out, the more it becomes about touting resolution or car count. Where did the quality go that we witnessed in FM2 or 4?

They are bypassing quality in an attempt to rake in more sales, and sooner or later it’s going to eventually bite them in the rear!

I’m hoping it happens with FM7. It’s become apparent the whole game is a rehash of old so far.

I’m hoping customers have realized this and turn their backs. I hope they are forced to reconsider their approach to newer games. I very much would like to buy FM10 or FH5 and it be a game that has no corner cutting or departments (like the sound department) be a no show to development. I would like to see this happen before the series becomes the next forgotten franchise.

It saddens me to see video games going the same route that the fast food industry models after. More/faster burgers. That aren’t of any real nutritional value.

The sounds in FH3 were bad. As a result I threw in a v12 in every car turned down the sfx, and up the music… lol. I couldn’t enjoy the cars for what they were, but at least I could get there fast.

They fixed the lack of supercharcher whine in the hellcat engine (both challenger and charger)
Sometimes I play FH2 and FH1 so I could get the best sounding cars.

At least the Porsches sound great in FH3 (except the lack of turbo sound in both GT2)

I think I will give Horizon 1 a revisit - even though the cars generally sounded a bit quiet, the samples were correct. The consistency was fantastic.

H1, FM2, 4 and 5 - best examples of sound I can think of. Heck, even FM6 has great samples for most cars.

I hope there won’t be a major cause for concern with FM7 because its a T10 only game, but I’m not so sure I want to get H4.

I hear you on that. One can only hope the developers are willing to take a slice of humble pie and actually reconsider their approach to game development. It doesn’t have to be about sales and profit all the time. Sometimes, quality should be given a first priority.

I also noticed the engine sound glitch, I found the cars sounded ok until I got and tuned a Nissan GT Black edition HE then this cars whiney engine sound stuck on with any other car until an update and now its only stuck on most of the HE cars. Maybe due for an engine sound reveiw/update/patch/overhaul, I also noted that out of all the 7 different ‘driving games’ I tried, FH2 has the best overal driving experiance ,feel/sound/theatre,'then FM6, then FH3 with a more varied ,but slightly damper or diluted driving feel to it(visualy and audibly). Looking forward to ‘Forza Horizon Earth’(street view) & the update to FH3 that gives us the choice to turn off the dreaded glorified bumper car effect with a ‘toggle traffic transparant’ or ‘toggle collisions off’ .(not critisism tho, just mho).

I found it a bit funny that the R34 sounds like a Supra, but that doesn’t really bother me, what bothers me is that the M4 sounds like a Supra, too! When the M4 in reality sounds BETTER, contrary to popular opinion.

I’m never pre-ordering a Forza game, that’s for sure. For the best car sounds and overall experience, I go right back to Horizon 2 and feel right at home!

Engine sounds are awful. The F Type sounds completely wrong, the project seven version of it sounds better but even that isn’t accurate. They half arsed a lot of the sounds in this game and it’s annoying.

One quick revisit to FM4 and Horizon 1 will make you appreciate those last-gen games x10!
