There may be an earlier post about this, but the search is STILL broken and I don’t really feel like combing through over 2000 posts to find it, but is it just me, or did almost every single car in the game get an audio downgrade? I randomly fired up FM6: Apex today for the first time in forever, and was immediately blown away by just how much better the cars sounded. I didn’t really notice it at first since I hadn’t played FM6 in months when FH3 came out, but it’s crazy how much of a difference there is. You’d think a game so focused on sound (Being a Car/MUSIC festival) we’d see better sound quality than FM, not worse. Has there been any word from T10/PG about this? I’ve seen it brought up on a few other sites a lot, but I thought I’d check here.
This. It bugs me that the GT350R on FH3 sounds nowhere near as incredible as it does on FM6. What’s more annoying is if a drivatar blows by you in a GT350R their car sounds like the FM6 version
I know the GT350R was patched post launch on FM6 to correct the sound so I’m hoping (praying) that there’s a patch that will correct engine sounds on FH3.
I will agree with you, the '95 Cobra and the 2000 SVT Cobra sound like a 427 (LS7) from the 2015 Z/28 and there’s a lot of cars that their sound is broken, for instance, the GT350R sounds like a 5.0 mustang, but when I hear it when a friend is driving one, it sounds totally fine and just like it does on FM6. I’m like what did they do to the sound of these beautiful sounding machines, if they can just use some of FM6 car sounds everyone should calm down about this topic, because this is irritates me because I’m a HUGE fan of cars no matter what it is or what it sounds like. The Lamborghini Murcielago LP 670-4 SV sounds EXACTLY like the Aventador LP 700-4, it use to sounds just like it does IRL, but now this is just sad, and I’m so tired of V12 swapped cars everywhere, the V12 is so over used in FH3, it’s become “let’s make a stupid fast cars that a V12 wouldn’t even fit in just because…”
I love Forza, but this Forza Horizon is just sad with V12 swapped MUSCLE CARS, just so sad. Now I know I may get a lot of crap about this, but I’ve been to Australia and I’ve seen the power cruise in action. The Power Cruise has 1200-1500+hp V8 Blown/Supercharged/Twin Turbo muscle cars that go to an event called The Power Cruise. Turn10 and PlayGround games should watch the roadkill in Australia episode to make the game even better!
Please make V8’s more powerful in the next Forza Motorsport game and Forza Horizon game. Twin Screw Superchargers and the Centrifugal Supercharger (aka Pro-charger), NEED TO BE MORE POWERFUL, and PLEASE ADD REAL BLOWERS (not as a hood scoop).
I don’t get why they had to be changed at all, unless I’m mistaken it doesn’t take that much more processing power for better sounds, just larger file sizes, you’d think they’d just port them
Because Different company actually made the game (Playground Games) not Turn10. Turn10 helped with it but mainly Playground Games. That’s why different Audio for Cars. I cant tell what the Actual sound of the car in game is suppose to be cause I use 3 different sound systems here and there (Sony Soundbar, TurtleBeach Headset, and I also use a Samsung 5.1 Home theatre system. And they all sound different from each other. one is better and clearer sounds than the other.
True, but it’s not like Playground Games built it from the ground up, there’s so many assets shared between the FM, and FH series, I don’t get why sound isn’t one of them. It’s not like they rescanned, and remodeled the cars that carried over, so why redo the audio for them?
Yea they fixed some sounds in Fm6 so why not port over the sounds? Graphical inaccuracies seem to be able to make it in lol. Unfortunate that lots of sounds are shared or complete wrong. Unlikely to be fixed though.
Never know. They can fix it. Turn10 fixed the Ford Mustang GT350R sound in FM6 to the actual race exhaust switch setting sound. Its possible. But only time will tell.
The GT350R sounded soooo nice in FM6 I was really looking forward to driving it in the open world of Horizon, hearing that flatplane scream… when I first heard the FH3 sound in the demo I was gutted, appalled… didnt even buy it for ages…
The biggest tease is however, you can hear the sounds from FM6 when listening to someone else driving past you in the car. So the sounds are in the game, just not from the players perspective.
Next time you get on… anyone, have a friend pull out the GT350R or any car with the 6.2L V8 in it, get them to rev it and you will clearly hear FM6 exhaust noises… insane!!
Anyone experiencing a strange sound during replay video? It’s like the engine or exhaust sound pauses or freezes for a few seconds and than the engine sound is normal again. Kind of hard to describe what the sound I am hearing on text or words. LOL!
I’m glad more and more people are noticing how the engine sounds aren’t as accurate as they were in Forza 6. Very disappointed how lazy these programmers got concerning the domestic V8’s. Seeing how anticipated this game was and is, I would’ve expected better but seeing now that Turn 10 doesn’t seem to be responsible, I understand now. Shame, I hope we get an update to fix this.
I mean if Skyrim can get a patch to bring up sound quality, why can’t forza right? I’d argue that good sound is more important here than a game like skyrim anyway. Here’s just hoping more people voice their concern about it, that’s about the only way they’ll fix it.
I just wish they’d let us know what sort of fixes they’re working on, they’re keeping us so far in the dark it’s starting to feel like Hello Games.
And this right here is the reason why i haven’t purchased Forza Horizon 3 yet :)…Car sounds is a deal breaker for me and if they do not sound authentic then i won’t waste my time with the game. It is really a shame though as it is the only thing hindering this game from being one of the best racing games if not the best.
Remember in FM4 when you upgraded the cams your idle got lopey and loud like the car would stall out? I remember the flathead V8 in the 40 ford deluxe was incredible with a racing cam upgrade. I would just let it idle with the speakers turned up.
