Instead of focusing on off-roading and driving on beaches etc all that pointless [Mod Edit - Abbreviated profanity, profanity and profanity that is disguised but still alludes to the words are not permitted - D] they should have spent that time accurately emulating the engine sounds in game…
I completely agree. While some of the off roading can be fun Playground needs to leave DiRT out of Horizon. Its totally fine to make it an expansion because then the people who want rally can get rally and the people who want open world Forza Motorsports get Horizon. I really hope they update the car sounds…
I strongly disagree. I am very happy with Forza Horizon 3, and while I understand that certain aspects could be better, I think we should all stop raging at them for junk like this.
Raging at Junk like this huh? Look im sure non car people are fine with the engine noises as they are, but Forza isn’t usually catering to the Arcade Casuals so I’d rephrase your comment because engine noises are key for this franchise. So much so that they spent countless hours with all different cars on chassis dynos. Just because you think a feature of the game being broken isn’t an issue doesn’t mean it isn’t an issue.
I doubt you’ve heard half of these engines in real life so its fine that you don’t care, but don’t go insulting people in this thread because we are bringing up a valid point on their lack of development and a straight slap to the face when most of the car models are direct from FM6 why did they intentionally NOT bring over the correct engine sounds…
as i progress ive been noticing this sound re-use too. my first car i picked was the Ute and was very happy with the sound outside and even more so from the cockpit where i could hear the whine of the supercharger. i was stoked to jump into a hellcat again but was sorely dissappointed when it sounded like several other v8’s in game and has ZERO supercharger whine. they got it right in FM6, why not here? the more cars i get the more of the same engine sounds i hear. i realize they cant get every single one but there are way too many generic sounding cars. at least get the super/turbo charged cars sounding correctly.
they messed up on this one that is for sure. some cars sound amazing others are just wrong I find all turbo i4 sound the same just a muffled blah sound. I stayed away from the supra and r34 just so I won’t be disappointed. come on PG and turn 10 it’s been years of the evolution sound like dog crappie. how long has it been since you recorded new car sounds. also some cars backfire while others don’t some gurgle others don’t. just tired of we added some rain and how about those night race’s. how about you make the cars sound amazing not just look good sound is about 50% of what makes the immersion of a racing game so good.
Yeah I mean the cars have never sounded true to life. Ive yet to hear an evo in this game sound like mine but its w.e I just wish they didn’t downgrade the sounds at least keep them as they were before…
I did notice that and it is kind of odd. Stock cars rarely shoot flames unless it’s heavily modded like the AMG sports cars or Skyline GTR for instance. THis wasn’t the case in Horizon 2. I also noticed and what was a brilliant visual feature in Horizon 2, is how the flames intensity changed with the car’s speed. I.e. if you downshift at mid-high revs at say, 80 mph, you would see larger flames. But if you downshift at the same rev range at 120-140 mph or above, you would see less prominent flames and they would sound a bit different too due to the higher fuel flow and mixture… a great feature and sad to see it dumbed down in H3. Flames generally looked better in H2. Just my two.
I’ve noticed an interesting glitch (maybe?) with the Audi Quattro.
I recorded a couple of clips to demonstrate, this first one you’ll notice the gear whine is kind of soft and can mainly be heard on overrun.
In this second clip you will notice the gear whine is much louder during acceleration and on overrun.
Not sure if this is normal or a glitch. If it is a glitch I have not been able to find a cause, the gear whine just seems to get louder at some point after driving around for a while. The clips were recorded during the same session about 30 minutes apart.
Yup,one of my favorite cars the Dodge Charger 69 doesn’t sound like a v8 hemi ,more like a jar of angry bees or something.Huge disappointment for me.While other cars sound great.
Interesting topic although I’m quite happy with the sounds in this game. IMO Forza games have the best engine sounds compared to other games like Project CARS, The Crew etc. It’s my first full Forza game and I was deeply impressed by the sounds when I chose the Rocket Bunny Silvia S15.
Engine sounds are very important to me in racing games but still I don’t think that those things mentioned are worth a disappointment. Just my opinion, maybe because I don’t know how a V6 or V8 sounds like in real life. Wouldn’t say no to a patch though if there’s something wrong with the sounds.
Yeah ive definitely started to notice many of the older muscle cars sounding alike even though they have drastically different engines. The more I listen the more annoying it gets that they did this when they could of avoided all of it.
he has a point you spend all this time to recreate stunning looking cars and then make them sound awfull. I have played forza since the beginning. forza 2 sounded amazing at the time but they have went down hill with the sound department using the same car samples over and over that the game becomes nothing more then recycling the same thing. we added this take away that no wait a minute we added this back. it starts to grind on you a little. I still play and will play every forza they realses. just getting a little salter every time lol.
