E3 2014 Forza Horizon 2 Interview Question Thread

E3 2014 is less than a few days away and once again MotorworldHype.com will be attending to get the low-down on any new Forza tidbits. By now, we know that Forza Horizon 2 is coming to Xbox One and Xbox 360 but so far only a handful of details have come out.

Just like in previous years MotorworldHype will have a shot at interviewing Dan Greenawalt and possibly Ralph Fulton of Playground games about the new addition to the Forza family. Also just like in previous years we’d like to reach out to YOU, the community to try and get some of your questions answered.

Those who have seen our threads like this before already know the drill but in case this is your first time this is how it works:

  1. If you have any questions that you want us to ask Dan or Ralph post them in this thread

  2. We will pick the best or most commonly asked questions and pose them to Dan, Ralph, or both should we get a chance to interview them.

  3. If a question we pick from this thread already gets answered in say, a press release or at the Xbox E3 event we will omit it unless we feel like there could be some more digging to do there.

  4. Refrain from posting “complaint questions” i.e. “why doesn’t forza have _______ like ______ game has?”

  5. The deadline to submit questions in this thread is Sunday June 8th 10pm PST

  6. After the deadline questions can be submitted by tweeting them to us at @MotorworldHype

  7. There is NO GURANTEE THAT WE WILL GET THIS INTERVIEW. There will be many other media outlets there and many of them are frankly bigger than us hence IGN getting the exclusive to confirm Horizon 2. These events can be very dynamic and things can change at a moment’s notice. HOWEVER, we have a pretty good track record with the Forza team and have never previously failed or been denied an interview with Dan or Ralph. As always we will do our best!

  8. Should we get the interview we will post it on MotorworldHype.com and post the link to it here!

I think that covers everything. We will keep checking on this thread through out the weekend to see what kind of juicy questions you want us to ask. We look forward to it!

Thanks to everyone in advance!

Thanks for the opportunity! Here is mine:

How would you compare the physics of Forza Horizon 2 to that of Forza Motorsport 5, specifically with the Xbox One version of the game?

i understand xb1 and 360 versions are running on different game engines but my first question is will the servers be cross gen?

my second question an more importantly for my own curiosity is why use the FH1 engine for the 360 version instead of FM4 engine?

thanks for the opportunity RetroNooB

I can answer this for you,FH1 was already based on the FM4 engine.

  1. Dig into the surface types - we’ve seen a still shot of wet road, but will there be snow or ice as surface materials we can drive on?

  2. Will Rally mode (off road events, championship, and co-driver calls) be integrated into the game at launch?

One of the main differences between Horzion and the motorsport series was the tuning aspect. Is there going to be a greater ability to tune cars like Motorsport or is it going to stay true to the first one and take a much more basic approach?

Side question… do the windshield wipers work? lol

Well i can knock both of these questions out right now, Both have been confirmed.

My Question:

Will there be Open Wheel cars on the Xbox One Version ?

For your side question,

"Your Ultimate Car Fantasy - Drive more than 200 of the world’s greatest cars.

A diverse collection of amazing vehicles ranging from extreme off-roaders to modern supercars, classic muscle, and much more.
Every car and truck is recreated in obsessive detail, with full cockpit views, including functional windshield wipers, working headlights, and authentic interiors. "

With so many new racing/automobile games coming out in the coming months on a range of systems how does the Forza franchise plan to stand out from the rest, other than relying on their well established brand name?

What will the differences between the Xbox One and 360 versions be?

How much larger is the car roster than FH1? FM5?

What influenced your decision to choose Sumo Digital to develop the Xbox 360 version of the game?

Will open-top vehicles make a return to Forza Horizon 2?

What post-launch support can we expect for each version of the game?

The biggest question for me is “Will there be split-screen/local-multiplayer for either versions of the game?”

That was the one feature I really wish Forza Horizon 1 had. Just the idea of being able to cruise around the map with friends/family sounds like a lot of fun!

This is a good one! This will likely make “the list”. Keep the questions coming!

YES! I would greatly appreciate if someone could shed some light on this aspect. Another question on the same subject: “Will there be split-screen online multiplayer (public race lobbies, private matches, free roam, etc.)?”

Cheers,

This isn’t about Horizon specifically, but more about Forza in general: Would T10/PG be interested in making a spinoff game dedicated solely to a specific motorsport series, like Dirt Track Racing (Sprints, Late Mods, Hornets, etc.), NHRA, Formula Drift, etc?

  1. Will horns finally be available during gameplay?

  2. Will there be features that utilize Kinect (GPS maybe)?
