I am owner of a limited edition VIP membership Forza5, and share the game with my brother.
We bought the Season Pass but merely I have the car in the garage for free, the VIP LE only I have the benefits!
Anyone know if inform Horizon 2 may share the season pass and vip without restrictions?
Hi everyone this is my first post here and it’s in regards to the DLC. My brother and I purchased the $100 version that included everything. Only problem is only my gamertag has recieved gifts, vip rewards and the day one car packs. My question is the DLC only useable with 1 gamer tag? Can my brother not use it as well? If so can I transfer it to him somehow because he will play it more than me. Xbox support says it should be shareable and maybe Turn 10 locked it to 1 user. Thanks in advance to any replies.
Ok so i found this in the forum it was on top feel dumb now.
“Secondary profiles on a shared Gold console will be able to access DLC cars in the game without purchasing the pack, but gamesave benefits may only be available to the account that purchased the pack. As a result, secondary profiles may not have the one-time-for-free tag for DLC cars and may need to use credits to transfer the cars to their in-game garage.”
So basically my brother has access to the cars he just has to use in game credits to purchase the cars which is ok i guess. Looks like I’m the only one who gets VIP access as well. Its too bad that theres no option to purchase a VIP pass separately for the secondary profile. If anyone wants to chime in and give me any more info feel free. Also the second profile hasn’t received gifts or the 600k reward that i got.
The other gamertag needs to be signed up for Forza Rewards to get the teir rewards like the 600k you received. He should be able to purchase a second VIP on his profile as well. Just make sure he’s the only one signed in. At least that’s how it should work. The 2nd profile can only benifit from the 1st by using installed DLC, that’s how it was on the 360.
If you have any more questions let me know here or pm me.
If you sign out, and only your brother is signed in, he too can buy the VIP pass separately. If the console will not let you do that, which is very likely, he can always purchase it online at xbox.com and then it will download to the console automatically.
Ok thanks for the response. I signed out and tried to purchase a vip and said installed under his gamer tag. Not giving me an option to buy it. Not sure if I should remove myself from the Xbox? They should make it to where you can buy a family pack that way we all benefit the same way if they’re worried about people taking advantage.
ok so signing out of my account and trying didn’t work it said installed still but signing into xbox.com under his profile shows an option to purchase the VIP pass for $20. I might just give that shot at least that way he will earn double rewards and it’ll be easier for him to buy the DLC cars since they’re not free for secondary profiles.
Thanks guys i appreciate your feedback. Ill let him decide if he wants to buy the VIP Pass separately for himself. I just wanted to know if it was possible. He has access to the VIP cars but just has to use in-game credits to buy them. I don’t know if he cares about the VIP acknowledgement or the double rewards after the wheel spin. Again thanks for helping me out. I appreciate it.
well, double rewards helps a lot, and the vip package cars are a little expensive, but i didn’t buy it again, this thing of can’t use it in two accounts, really sucks
Ok just wanted to update this post real quick. He decided to buy the VIP pass but what was strange is the launch day car pass wasn’t showing for him. After he launched it through the smart glass app on his phone it showed up for him free and no longer has to use credits to purchase the cars. Was able to get the GNX for free. Its cool but I’m confused.
Checking now to see if the VIP applied to his name
Update 2: it applied and everything seems cool. Not the smoothest experience. Next forza I’ll have him purchase the DLC under his gamer tag on Xbox website. Maybe that’ll save us this headache.
Hello, me and a friend bought the deluxe package one day, but was bought in a shared account on his x1, the question is whether the vip benefits are for two or just for the console that made the purchase.
Yea the VIP has to be purchased separately. My brother who has the secondary profile on my Xbox one had access to VIP cars but still had to pay for them with credits but after he purchased the VIP pass from Xbox website he got them free and now has VIP status. So In short no you cant share VIP pass.
VIP perks are linked to the account they are purchased with, reguardless of the console. However, you may need to download the mini VIP download that goes with it when buying it if switching consoles. A VIP perk cannot be shared between gamertags.
This. Alternatively, the reason why you can’t purchase something for a second account is because the Xbox One already acknowledges it as installed or purchased. So, in order to buy content on a new account when you already have it on another, you need to do some things.
First, you should delete the content (this won’t hurt the original purchaser at all, you can re-download it as needed).
After deleting the content, you need to go into the settings under the profile that purchased it and turn off the option to ‘share gold on this xbox.’
Finally, sign out of that profile and in to the new one that hasn’t bought it, go to the item you wish to buy and it should be available to purchase.
It’s kind of silly but it’s because of the gold and content sharing feature of the Xbox One. You can either go through this whole process or you can purchase content on Xbox.com. However, I find that Xbox.com often does not work or won’t let me purchase Xbox One content. Whatever works best for you.
As the title says. I bought the VIP pass and it works for me but not for other accounts on the xbox one.
Is this how it’s supposed to be because normally all purchases including DLC work for all accounts?
