Car packs, multiple accounts

My son bought the first 2 car packs while logged in to his Xbox Live account and he got the La Ferrari and the Birdcage in his garage. Is there any way to get them in my garage (different Xbox Live account) on the same console? I would also like to get the points for Forza rewards. I tried to re-purchase them for myself but the Xbox Store says “Installed” and gives no option to buy.
Thanks

  1. Uninstall the DLC from the current owner profile (you’ll be able to install it back again later for free).
  2. (revised 4/18/14) Change the My home Xbox Settings for each profile to “This isn’t my home Xbox”
  3. Purchase DLC with the second profile from the in-game Marketplace or the console dashboard Store.
  4. Change the profile settings back to Home.
  5. Log in to the first profile, press the controller Menu button on FM5 and select Manage Game, and install the DLC pack for free.

Note that a second profile doesn’t need to purchase the DLC pack while on a console with a Home profile that owns the pack if they just want to Rent or Buy the pack cars in their gamesave. These steps are only necessary to provide the full benefits of DLC ownership to the second profile.

And I’ll stop you right there. You shouldn’t need to go through this step at all. Not selling VIP passes to everyone who wants them is surprisingly silly. Why would MS and Turn 10 turn off that revenue stream and annoy so many gamers?

Don’t get me wrong, I appreciate your help. Sadly this didn’t work and I’m rather frustrated right now.

I’ll admit i haven’t tried this yet but i have the VIP and my two sons would like it. Does anyone know FOR SURE if this works or if there is a better way yet? Thanks

Thanks!

This didn’t work for me unfortunately.

me here too didn’t work

I tried it last night and it didn’t work for me. I sent Forza an email and an artificial lifeform at their end generated a letter saying, in effect, “Gosh yeah, that sorta sucks. Maybe we’ll fix it in an update someday. If we feel like it.”

I think you misread the reply email.

This is one of two big design decisions with F5 and XBOne that I see. Turn 10 developed their content to be user specific. MS developed the One to be console specific for content. Either they were too rushed to notice, never bothered to test the scenarios with more than one user per console, or discovered the issue too late in the process to change it. Please email them and let them know of your concerns, I am sure they are aware of this by now, but may not realize the scope of the issue without everyone affected letting them know.

FYI - the other issue I see is the migration to cloud saves with no ability to ‘revert to last cloud save’ when something goes horribly wrong.

My brother is having this problem and the solution listed here doesn’t work. I would quite like Turn 10 and Microsoft to take my money, but they don’t seem to want it.

If it is on the same console you should see the cars in the dealership and you should be able to purchase them in game with in game credits. Don’t have credits? Run a few laps in rivals you will earn tons.

It’s not just about the cars being there. It’s about the leveling bonus and access to the VIP rivals events as well.

I sure would like for someone to find out how to make this work

Honestly it should just apply it to the console.

Is there anyone out there care if we are happy with Forza 5 or not we have a lot of money invested in this game and you would think that someone would help us I have 8 profiles on this game and a lot of money on it and am very disappointed

How I got V.I.P. to work on two profiles:

Similar to the previously posted method, with one important difference. I uninstalled the VIP from the main account, and then set BOTH my main account AND my secondary account to “This is not my home Xbox”.

That way it took game sharing rights away from everyone, and by navigating through the store with my NON-VIP secondary account I was able to purchase it normally, although I could not play the game through that account of course. The store doesn’t seem to care if you have ownership of the game at that point. It’ll still take your money.

I let it install from the secondary account, and then I then set both accounts back to “This is my home Xbox”, and everyone is now VIP, and can “share” the game again.

My bet is that car packs would work the same way.

Thanks. I’ll give this a go.

Thank you so much. My brother and I are in your debt. He got his VIP membership, and I don’t have to hear him complain anymore!

Do you think this method would work for Horizon 2 and Motorsport 6 as well?
