My son downloaded all the Launch Bonus cars + BMW M5, etc… when he was logged into his gamer tag… I now can see the cars, but have to use credits to buy them.
I tried re-installing the game and the packs, but seems like the server knows it was downloaded to him, not me… although I have the primary gamer tag on the XBone…
Any ideas on how I can reset this and get the cars for me?
Sorry buddy but as far as i know you can’t, but if the console is both of your home console you should both have access to any and all car packs it’s only vip that doesn’t share.
Having the same issue on our Xbone. The car pack(s) are not sharing between accounts and only the primary account can get cars in the packs for free. I expected it would be like Forza MS 5 as far as the VIP went but didn’t expect my other family members would have to spend credits on DLC cars as if a pack had not been already paid for!
It has always been this way on this console, and even on the xbox 360. The direct user that downloads the pack gets the cars for free - everyone else must pay to use them. If you paid for the DLC and you want to use it, you should make sure it is your account to download it and use it first.
Spending in-game credits on the cars isn’t too bad though. Money is so easy to come by that you can buy a couple million credit cars a day.
To solve the original issue, I would speak with your son about rules or expectations regarding the Xbox since you share access to the console and it is peculiar -to say the least- with profiles logging in and sharing content.
I have to disagree with PPiDrive. With 2Kids and Myself in FM5 we all got the Cars Free With the DLC. I have not purchased the DLC for this very reason. Who gets the cars free? This bites because we want the new cars but whoever down loads the code gets the cars no peace in this house
Everyone gets access to the cars as long as the person who downloaded (read: paid) for the DLC has that console set to their home console. This person then gets the cars for free within the game one time. Everyone on the console can access them in the game if they are willing to spend in game credits on them, and in m opinion that is not that big of a deal.
I agree it may be a little unfortunate that only one person gets the cars for free, but is that really such a big deal? None of the DLC cars are going to be that expensive, and most of the packs contain about a million credits worth of cars. To put that into perspective, one head to head race with a BOUNTY drivatar can result in an average of 50K credits. This means, that in 20 head to head races, you can buy every car in the pack. Sure, you’re not doing only head to head races but then factor in Championship events - around 15K - 20K, some head to head races, around 10K, BOUNTY head to head races, 50K (mine are typically 60 to 85K), rivals 18K… Play for about an hour and a million credits can’t help but fall in your lap.
Credits and buying cars with standing, if multiple people share a single console and wish to share DLC, they must make some rules to follow to avoid stress and difficulty.
I agree. IMO credits are to easy to get. Especially when you factor in the “free” ones you get from wheels spins. I probably have 50-60 cars in my garage I’ve never driven. I just keep buying random ones to unlock the “own 175 cars” achievement.
I also have two kids. A 3 year old and a 7 year old. They both know not to touch my Xbox unless they ask first. Even if it’s just to watch a movie or play one of their kid friendly games. Simple rules go a long way.
First my kids are Teens and neither work. (not thinking your 3 or 7 year old is skilled enough for this game) The Xbox is a family game in the Family room. Who paid is obviously not going to work and since I’m paying and work an average of 70 hours a week. We limit time on the console because School if first and there are other people in the house that would like TV time as well. Really 175 cars how many hours do you play? We pay for three gold accounts Paid for the new release and then more for the DLC (We have purchased all prior DLC’s) that is only going to give free cars for one person? I guess I’ll spend our DLC money on borderlands The Pre Sequel, at least we all get to play that. I understand the VIP set but lets be serious The money is spent you should loosen the purse strings a make customers happy. Who needs the next version of this franchises since most of the cars are the same ones from the last 3 releases. But my question still remains why did we all get the DLC cars free in FM5 and not now?
Never claimed my kids were skilled enough for this game, or even play this game at all for that matter. They have Angry Birds, Lego Movie, Lego Superheroes, Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare, and Minecraft that they play. My point was my kids NEVER touch the Xbox unless they are given permission to do so despite the fact they have more games than I do on the Xbox. Doesn’t matter their age. It would be the same if they were 5 or 15. You ask to use stuff that doesn’t belong to you.
To answer your question, my wife bought me this game on Oct. 1st and I’ve played for 40 hours. So I average about 1hr 15 mins per day.
Expanding a point mentioned earlier in the thread - On the console there will be one account that is the main account. The account who has that console set as the home console. If that account buys the dlc then that dlc is shared by all accounts on the console. It is set up for the exact scenario you mention.
It is possible that you bought the FM5 dlc on the home account and the FH2 dlc on one of the other accounts.
What SatNite said. The console is set up to help people in your situation. Whoever has the console as their home console and is the main profile should be purchasing all the DLC. Also, paying for three gold memberships on the Xbox One is a waste of your money. As long as the main profile has Gold everyone on the console has the benefits of a gold membership. If I were you I would stop paying for the two additional memberships and save yourself $100 a year.
And again, I think money is way too easy to make for it to be an issue. I go to work full time, I go to university full time, and I don’t have an issue making money on the chance I play the game. A couple days ago I found myself with 12 million credits so I bought a ton of cars (the most expensive ones and some not expensive ones) and dropped to 3.5 million. I played a couple hours since and I received my Forza Rewards since the month rolled over and I’m already almost at 8 million credits again. It’s not too tough to make the money to buy the cars.
The cars in the Mobil 1 car pack are as follows:
Jaguar F-Type R - 99,000 CR
Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 58,500 CR
Renault Clio RS 200 23,400 CR
VW Scirocco 16v 5,400 CR
Maserati 300S 900,00 CR
BMW M5 (free to download - free in game one time)
That adds up to 186,300 CR without the Maserati and since the BMW can be downloaded standalone, everyone can download it and get it free once. Including the Maserati 300S, the total purchase price is 1,086,300 CR. Basically, this means if you do 3 - 5 Head to Head races with bounty drivatars you can buy every car in the pack. Yeah, so for 5 minutes of your in-game time you can buy the cars. You don’t have to do head to head races either, but they will get you the most money for the least amount of time. Then, all you have to do is save up for the Maserati if you want it - and that should take about an hour of play time.
I understand your time might be limited, but you do have to play the game to get the cars. In the future, make sure the primary console account downloads all DLC so that everyone can use it as intended. Even then, I don’t think the Forza DLC is set up this way and it doesn’t seem to be changing anytime soon. It wasn’t even until months after FM5 released that they made the change to give you the DLC cars for free. Used to be that once you bought the DLC you still had to pay in-game CR to use the cars but too many people complained about that. I believe I gave you the wrong links above. The link I was referencing was this one.
Here is the quote:
That thread is in the FM5 subforum, but most of the FAQs are relatable to FH2 as well.
it’s not as if you are spending REAL money to get those cars in game … it’s only credits earnt in the game which are so easy to get to begin with
ok you pay for the DLC once , that account gets them for free in game ( it never used to be this way either, began with Forza 5 about 2-3 DLC packs in)
I don’t get why you would expect everyone else to get them as well, isn’t it enough they get free access to the DLC without paying for it again
just play the game , you get enough money there , it’s not as if you need every car anyway, honestly how many are you actually going to race with
