I know sounds are your thing and im happy youre excited about the possibility of improvements. But id argue these arent necessarily improvements, but a fix for something that wasnt done right to begin with.
I dont think being grateful is the word id use to describe something like this. They marketed the game in one way and delivered the product in another. If someone was sold on getting this game because of the new sounds, then they really didnt get what they paid for.
Id also wait till theres some more tangible evidence of fixes or improvements before id be too thankful. If they only change 3 existing sounds a month, thats gonna be quite the wait.
To all car enthusiasts seeking realistic engine sounds,
Im on a mission to enhance our driving experience with authentic car audio! Visit the link below to cast your vote and help forza prioritize the most sought-after vehicles.
Progress Update:
Other users and I have compiled a list of cars with inaccurate sound profiles.
Each post I made has real-life YouTube recording. I wanted to do side by side comparisons but that’s a lot of work. If someone wanted and had the time be my guest.
New updates are added daily.
Your participation is crucial! Vote now and help shape the future of immersive car audio.
This far none of racing/driving games has done engine sounds that actually sound good… just watch and listen some drag racing parking area youtube clips where cars drive by… racing games has none of that deep low note rumbling, powerfull sound… and that is through same speaker as a game… games produce 10% of youtube recordings and youtube recordings get 10% of real life. Revving an engine in game should feel like it break speakers, not whiny excuse of sound…
I hope they breathe in that kind of detail into the car exhaust sounds. There’s lots of details and nuances missing which kinda sucks as they’ve done it to save space perhaps. That one update where they slashed the game file size by 11-13 GB ruined all the Ferrari V12 sounds!
I don’t care if the game goes well beyond 200gb. Give me detail rich real life sounds.
I tried the new, updated C7.R, and it just sounds so lifeless. I realized that, when you lift off, it makes the volume of the engine go to almost nothing, rather than hearing the engine fight against the momentum of the car to slow it down, the normal aggressive sound you hear from a highly tuned engine on deceleration.
Having spent time in Assetto Corsa Competizione just prior, the contrast was readily apparent.
Hmm, I will have to look into this and create a thread to vote on if need be.
I think overall, the game needs more detailed audio on the off throttle and coasting as when you lift off the throttle in a real car, especially at higher revs, the sound character in the exhaust and engine do not disappear - you hear and feel it very well.
In Forza, the engine and exhaust character can become muted or is silent and lacks depth as well as detail - BUT this issue is not prevalent on every car
After all, you should still be able to hear the exhaust character and motor sound as the engine is fighting inertia and momentum, slowing the car down, as you put it.
I really want them to focus on the coasting/off throttle and downshifts for all cars as those can sound weak.
First of all I want to thank the developers for putting so much effort and love into improving the game down to the last detail.
I have a couple of questions that I would like to see on the AMA:
Will the squeal made by carbon ceramic brakes be implemented in cars that have it as standard or in those cars that are upgraded to this type of brakes?
Will the sound of the wind in the cockpit be implemented (if it is not already implemented as I do not feel it)
The exhaust sound still needs to be worked on , they are very quiet and not aggressive sounding. We need some loud pops/bangs/crackles and different size flames from small to massive
haha, COD just shoves unnnecessary things in your storage that you don’t even need.
Forza has lots of cars. I say, nail the sound character for all of them, stock and upgraded. Game sizes are only going to get bigger, especially with quality visuals and sounds. That’s a given. Get additional storage or at least a cheap external HDD where you can migrate games to if you want space on the internal SSD.
One step in the right direction would be, that we get the option to hear our cars engines on the fly while upgrading it, just like it is in Forza Horizon 5.
It’s not directly connected to the car sounds themselves, but also part of the problem. The game menus etc. are just so horrible.
I too would like to hear brake squeal especially on race cars at the beginning of the race with cold brakes. Or when slamming on them. It will add an element of immersion and realism which im sure they could add in an update eventually.
I already have additional storage, and since I’m on console, if I want to use it as it was intended, I have to buy more of Microsoft’s approved additional storage. Those things are still 150-200 bucks a pop.
If they’re going to expand the size of this game, then I’d rather that go towards gameplay and AI improvements and innovations instead of more ray-traced graphical chaff and making sure that the 2018 Range Rover Velar has the correct engine note.
I honestly don’t care, as long as the game stays under a half terabyte or something.
I have 3 TB NVMe and 6 TB SATA SSD and 112 TB normal HDD storage for one rig but it’s even more, because I have 3 computers and even more NVMe’s, SSD’s and HDD’S.
The great thing is Steam, my laptop gets the safety storage treatment, if my actual rig for whatever reason ever dies, then I can just copy paste it back to my actual rig.
So the BMW S63B44 (M5 F10, M5 F90) urgently needed a sound update, they really DON’T sound GOOD! They sounded much better in the previous ones! The misfires when you let off the accelerator are also too shrill and must be duller. The two cars also have DKG gearboxes that cause a shift popping sound (ignition interruption).
