Car sound/ turbo charger spool

Some of the car sounds are very good, but some are really disappointing…

Has anyone heard anything about the sounds of cars? Will it be better in FM7?

Based on the gameplay vids that have released so far the cars to sound better.

I hope it isn’t like forza fh3, it felt like there were a few stock sounds, maybe 20 or 25 and that was it, all you heard were the same rally car engines and v12’s

Well, that was because those two engines were the top two engine swaps, not a problem with sound, per se.

I really hope that Turn 10 fix the sounds also, a lot of the cars in Forza 6 sounded exactly the same, one of the best V8 sounds was from a 95’ Mustang, also please update the cars for example 2017 game, and yet the exact same mini from 09" since Forza 3.

One last thing, come on Turn 10 just add the ability of window decals, exhaust pipe sizes and bring back the ability to paint brake calipers, I don’t know why you would remove that option.

Oh, THIS^^ big time!

I truly hate the fact that they continue to remove great features from previous games. It’s about time we saw exhaust pipes changing appearance when we upgrade them and it should make the car’s audio character change dramatically as well.

If upgrading brakes, tires, suspension and bodywork shows up, why not exhausts? In Fm4 you could even see the car parts inside being striped after applying weight reduction. Again, same problem = they minus great features from previous games to bring in new ones. Ridiculous.

The only thing that was stripped from the interior after applying the race weight in FM4 was the front passenger seat…

It must have been FM2 then that did it properly. Nevertheless, good feature and it also affected how the car sounded in cockpit view; less sound deadening.

Bring it back, I say.

I can remember way back when, I would buy every exuast to find the best sound. I wish we could get forza1 on Xbox one just to play with the old veilside cars again.

Back to the topic.
The car sounds are both worrying but good.

They seem to have a bit of FH3 and not FM6 in them. FH3 had some bad sounds (examples are the m3, supra, and skyline) but got a lot better as they moved forward with DLC. I guess we’ll see when we get our hands on the full game.

None of those sounds have gotten better despite multiple updates, and they made it clear in a thread titled “Valiant Sound” in the FH3 section, that they will not be fixed. So the prime suspects are still there, i.e. M3, Supra, Skyline and still sound the same and completely off.

FH3 certainly was a big let down from FM6, in terms of car sound. Furthermore, I noticed right away how many cars either sound really weak or virtually have no off-throttle sound. How can so many missteps occur in one game that has a 2-year development cycle? Just boggles the mind.

I 100% agree. Especially when I would have thought that around 50% of the car’s sounds could have been ported from FM6 which sounded really good. Cars like the Shelby GT350R and Aventador changed sounds which was unnecessary and frustrating while cars like the R34 and Supra shared samples. Even the Aston Martin DB11 sounded like an R34!

From what I’ve heard from FM7 it sounds good but I just hope there’s no shared samples like in FH3.

The Nissan GTR GT500 is wrong, it’s not a V6…

“Since 2014, GT500 cars have been powered by twin-turbocharged, inline four-cylinder engines with two liters of displacement and producing over 600 horsepower. The cars are tube-frame silhouette racing cars similar to those seen in the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters (DTM). The advancements in aerodynamics and horsepower, combined with an ongoing tyre war driving even higher speeds, have made the GT500 class the fastest form of production-based sports car racing today. The pace of a GT500 car is roughly equivalent to that of the fastest non-hybrid Le Mans Prototypes.”

For FM7, I heard the One X would have better sound in addition to 4k. I hope this just means clearer sound and not different/lower quality engine sounds and no rattling/details for the One/One S versions.

I hope they wont do that for the regular xbox . In gameplay video(radical in suzuka) the car and environment sounds pretty awesome . You can even hear the wind sound when reaching high speeds .

Forza 6 sounded fantastic for a lot of cars. Forza Horizon 3 didn’t. There was a lot of shared sampling across engine sounds. There were a lot of missing nuances like supercharger sounds. 10% of the cars sounded fantastic in FH3. A good example is the 2017 Nissan GT-R. However the mojoriry of the cars shared samples and engine notes in FH3.

Any feedback on the sounds will be much appreciated when FM7 drops. Accurate car sounds are hugely important IMO. The horrible sounds in FH3 led me to regret the $100 pre-order of the game. I am not going to make the same mistake again and pre-order FM7. I am completely fine sticking with FM6 if the sounds in FM7 are bad.

some of the engine sounds in Forza 7 are terrible. And Turn 10 ain’t doing nothing about it.
