Can you name anything in Forza 7 that is better than Forza 6?

Huge car collections and quicker screen navigation to select car & tune. I can change car, find a tune to try, pay for it and have it ready before the intermission timer hits :05 almost every time. As someone who like to drive every car in the garage, this has been a lot of fun and a lot less tedious. Trying out so many combinations I’m finding more winning tunes. And it’s nice to reward more tuners with a download and a few spins for their efforts.

Weather variability is great, but I wish the downpour squalls would make the track less drivable.

Mods are way better with no physics-changing cards.

Everything.

Wow, didn’t realize you loved Forza 7 that much!

Isn’t sarcasm a beautiful thing?

Graphics, sounds, physics and M5 E60.

That’s about it… Everything else is inferior.

Force feedback is way better than fm6.
That’s enough for me.

I like single player career, the freeplay area and the car events like Rivals, Bounty Hunter and Forzathon. I was a little frustrated when the last batch of Forzathon events had some issues, but T10 seems to be making things better as time goes by. I really enjoy the game and overall think it is a worthwhile change of direction. I would like to see homologation go by the wayside and have true divisions by class number.

I’m a VIP and feel T10 has provided me with a lot of value for what I spent. I know there are many who have complaints, but I feel FM7 has been extremely worthwhile and I’m more immersed in this version than I was with FM6.

I really love the ability to add different buckets in Free Races for example I love endurance racing and Le Mans and I’m able to have LMP1, LMP2, and GT cars all on the track at the same time like a real endurance race. The graphics are better than FM6.but that would be given with progress. Also there’s some subtle gameplay differences that I like. I haven’t had a chance to play online yet because until yesterday I had very slow internet.

No.

With a new Logitech G920, the handling is totally different. I’ve never driven a real car that fast, but it seems to me that the new one is way more realistic. But that might be the G920. Wonder if anyone with an old G920 could comment?

Forza 7 has improved (or cynically you could say different) FFB over Forza 6.

I don’t know about changes to the physics, feels pretty similar to me.

Had a G920 since FM6 and FM7 felt much better with the G920.

Have now upgraded to Fanatec CSW 2.5 so haven’t used the G920 for a couple of weeks.

My opinion to other things:

No Leaderboards: Very bad indeed, only few Rivals, very boring. They have to bring back Class or in this FM, Division Leaderboards for every track.
No opponent car choice: In Free Play you can put in Race Setup by Car Restrictions exactly what car can be used.
No AI in MP: Free Play? Or do you mean when playing with friends and then fill the grid? In last you are right.

McPhersonator: I do not fully agree, if so they would change the ghost hopper and other racing hoppers once in a while from Division (think we will have all year Modern Hot Hatch). And so they know the online rammers issue and would have not done Simulation Damage in Leagues (contact oke, damage no, community isn’t ready for that, also because of lack racing rules). Further certain track exploits where in FM6 also bad fixed (Monza). Also if so they would have implanted racing rules (blue flag, penalties for corner cutting and ramming, etc). They would have put more environments in the game then only Dubai (I do not count re-appearances, as they shouldn’t have removed them in the first place). They would have started better communicating with customers.

Raving Lunatic: Yeah and not only the AI ;), online it’s also worse as guess people had free Horizon, there it’s oke, but then think that same behavour is acceptable in Motorsports.

What I like is the Car Collection, does me think of a sticker-book where you try to collect all stickers. Like the Panini WC/EC Football sticker-books, I buyed and tried to compleet when I was younger. Weather, Clothing (even yoy not see much of it mostly). The Divisions are great, better feel of real races (not the trackday races like before)

The biggest improvement for me is the number of ways that you can set up a race in Freeplay mode. That made the purchase worth it to me. Engine sounds on some cars seem to have been improved I like the addition of vintage driver gear given the number of vintage cars in the game.

Dislikes:
Hard to see how a metallic paint job really looks when painting it under the garage lighting.
Forcing people to do a drift challenge to obtain a vintage road racer that I’ve never seen drifted in real life (i.e. the Porsche 356 Speedster).
Quite buggy when released.
Load time for tracks.
Loss of Toyota cars (miss the Toyota 2000GT and the Supras)

The sheer number of cars alone makes FM7 miles better than FM6 for me. The Porches are my favorite cars and now not only are they included in the game but they are the games main focus.

  • Gameplay/physics do not feel like a lottery anymore as they did in Forza 6, even coming from PC simulators I struggled to find consistency there because doing the same thing a hundred times gave a hundred different results. Forza 7 took this and fixed this while keeping the exactly same technical challenge and characteristics. Doesn’t differ that much from PC hardcore simulators in the core driving mechanics anymore and that’s great. I even felt motivated to complete the endurances because I could trust the physics;
    Observation: but somehow it doesn’t work well uphill and downhill anymore, as it loses traction even with the weight on the rear and understeers with the weight on the front, but well, stay away from Dubai and you will rarely bother with it.

  • Much, much better career, I’ve never grown tired of the game while playing it. The races are longer and have a meaning, a feel races based in real life classics, no risk like in Forza 6 that you got a car with no headlights and the game gave you a night race at Le Mans (I’m aware Porsche raced I think '70-'71 (?) with a car that has no headlights but that’s crazy);

  • Soundtrack is awesome and it’s in at the right moments. Don’t take me wrong, Forza 6 soundtrack is great, but to play on YouTube when I’m alone or something like this, did not at all fit with the game;

  • Porsche not being DLC;

  • Several of the career championships are way cool;

  • Ford Escort RS1600 MK1 not being DLC;

  • GT cars do not try to kill you at every corner anymore, as it is in real life;

  • Car list is so much better;

  • Rain got much better, and it’s more challenging than Forza 6’s rain at the limit: track ink, grass, the smallest part of the wheel there makes it a danger. Not all is about water puddles. Not to mention the dynamic rain, though it could be improved, makes a big difference.

Just to mention a few ones that crossed my mind, there are surely much more. Not to say it didn’t walk backwards in a few ways, but at least for the parts of the game I play (career, a few customized races, Rivals), Forza 7 is much better.

I’ve really grown to prefer homologation over the old setup. It’s not perfect for sure. It makes some cars extremely limited as far as what you can do with them, restrictor plate model is not fun imo, and it can be difficult to find the populated LB tracks (though a quick Youtube search will usually give you the career tracks w/o having to race them again). However, the biggest disappointment about the old way is that you may have 1 or 2 cars dominating an entire letter class of leaderboards. If memory serves, the Alfa 33 dominated B and A class in the last title. Pretty frustrating for someone who wanted to set a lap time with one of the few hundred other cars available for those classes. There are still dominant cars now but they are relegated to their division and many divisions are competitive throughout the range of cars available. I wish it wasn’t set up through Free Play. Lapping needs to be more prominent in the menus and needs it’s own dedicated section of the game like before. But i’ll take the new system any day of the week given the choice between the two just on the basis of it having opened up such a vast array of cars the you can tune, drive, and set good lap times with. Homologation w/divisions is a superior solution to tackling the impossible task of car balance in Forza and I hope it’s here to stay.

Well for me it’s the TRUCKS, BUGGIES, and RAZORS… Especially racing the 4X4 Dodge Ram with 42" mud tires on it…! I mean this is such a major improvement over the past FM games…!

NOT… I hate the darn trucks… Buggies, and utility off road vehicles. I will not do this month VIP Rival in protest, I hope everyone else does the same.

But back to the OP…:

Even though it has it’s flaws… The career mode is an improvement. FM6 made me run the same tracks over and over in the set series. Although T10 did a poor jb are utilizing the many different tracks and layouts (Ribbons) it’s still an improvement.

RAIN:
The rain affect is tremendously much better than in FM6. in FM6 the standing water was unrealistic… And the effect it had in the car was at time unrecoverable. In FM7… It’s very realistic and makes the rain an enjoyable challenge vs. in FM6 a meisery to drive! Good Work T10… Kudos on the rain affects!!!

Everything is better, except:

Loss of spectate ability
Loss of manual grid ordering in private lobbies
Lag in some garage/car menus
More limited Rivals

And obviously bugs.

I think most of the people complaining are the people who liked upgrading virtually anything to any class they wanted. ie one of the reasons public lobbies have historically sucked. That dissatisfaction is the primary driver of many other quibbling issues that would otherwise be disregarded.

Yes I can. Forza 6 has faster loading times as well as the ability to restart a race without quitting the race the nreloading it. Forza 6 also has a better split screen than Forza 7 due to the long loading times of Forza 7

Mate, if you’re gonna resurrect a topic at least read it first.
