Can you name anything in Forza 7 that is better than Forza 6?

Actually the reason I enjoy homologation is that it allows me to race the cars “as they were”… Especially historic, which I usually drive a lot in Forza.

In the old system it was really hard to do this because there was always a certain route to take to make the car most competitive and, if you didn’t take it, the Drivatards/human opponents would, ruining your fun.

I particularly enjoy the standardization of tire compounds.

In comparison to the prior installment;

+Suspension and tire simulation
+Track variety
+Less exaggerated rumble strips
+Single Player
+Economy
++Steering wheel FFB
+/- Car variety, though too many are timed exclusives

-Somewhat unstable. With every update, you don’t know if there’d be something else that gets broken
-No class hoppers and leaderboards

In all honesty, I admit that i whined a lot but the stats don’t lie. The only folly is the lack of class related hoppers and boards but that’s an easy fix. As shocked as I am, I can’t find any permanent negatives going forward.

[Mod Edit - Trolling removed - D]

Arent people encourage to share the tunes and paints to earn extra CR? Not everyone knows how to tune a car or paint it and others love doing it.

The resolution, clarity and detail of paints and vinyls for the painters among us is significantly better in FM7 than any previous Forza game. It’s like the difference from when you moved from your old 480p TV to your first HD TV. I should note that this is on the OneX.

T10 still have to tidy up some rough edges so no point sugar coating it but I like FM7 except the Artificial Idiots which seem to have got worse, however, the fact I have noticed the considerable recent change would indicate they are working on it,

Some of the points I’ll be listing apply to the One X only, others to the One, it’ll be obvious which:

4K

HDR (massive difference, more so than 4k)

Dynamic weather

Dynamic time of day

Ability to adjust race length in career, as well as up to 1k laps, or 24hr in free mode

Liveries/designs don’t look bad anymore

As much as people complained from the trialers, the rattling car parts is a subtle but nice touch

Dashcam

Car count/list (Love seeing the new Alfa Giulia, Fiat 124, and Jeep Trackhawk)

Porsche and NASCAR, and with that, VIR and Homestead are in the base game, which leads to new possibilities for this games expansions

Suzuka, Maple, Mugello, and Dubai (not as bad as people say once you learn it)

Homologation, so I don’t see people with 1000hp muscle cars slamming into corners, or using me to turn, because they can’t.

It looks like new GT cars are rolling in, with the Porsche RSR, and rumored Lexas GT3.

Mods are strictly credit based now, and promote/encourage switching off assists/clean racing

Auction house

Freeplay improvements

Driver gear

Loading screen/pre race ability to tune and change difficulty

Actual progress in the updates for drivatars

The physics are different, I have no idea what you’re talking about. It feels much more real

Being able to forzavista on the tracks, which is great for photography

3D rendering of the cars when scrolling through them, with ability to “explode them”, so you can see inside, or the engine, if the car has it rendered

I could be wrong, but I don’t remember Forzathon being so fleshed out, or at all in FM6

Specialty dealer is nice, reminds me of the used car dealership in Gran Turismo 4

Car collection

Meaningful single player

I can keep going, but I think we all get the point here.
The game has many, many improvements, and I don’t see why people are fussing so much about this game.

It could be the loot crate system, but for the life of me, I can’t figure out how it’s bad. You can’t even use real money (yet), and if you buy the crates with half a brain, and use mods correctly, as well as doing more than 3 lap races, you’ll be rolling in more money than you can even spend.

Or maybe the bugs, but it seems like T10 are pumping out updates every week at this point, and most have been addressed, and more will be going forward.

Content is fully available on PC, making this the first viable iteration of FM for me.

So what happened between this thread starter post and the one below that made you to buy the game?

Simple.
The price came way down £32
The game was updated.
I run my own business & have a family so sometimes I dont always have time for a simulation like Iracing.Forza is pefect for me when I want to relax on the sofa with a controller & have some fun.

Force feedback for steering wheels is much better.

Many other things are not better, some things worse.

Weather, campaign, Cars.

The career is far better. Actual points and ability to choose race length. The graphics are better, the weather system is a lot better. Freeplay is head and tails better. Leagues is going in the right direction. ( still a long way to go but better than time put in equals champion )
Driver suits is a nice addition that I wasn’t to keen on at first. I see a lot of different suits being used online.
Modern GT cars are closer in bop. No longer forced to use the Aston or Porshe too be competitive. Division based hoppers allowing serious racers a place to run cars that would actually be in a real race series together for the most part.
I am glad to see class hoppers back for those who don’t know how to adapt or change. Maybe there will be less crying now. FM7 is my favorite of the series, FM6 with multiplayer/Leagues is 2nd, and FM4 in 3rd for sheer size in content and excellent storefront.

I do think the leagues will be better, if they remove the incentives to cheat and the “punishments” for driving clean. I won a couple of Forza 6 leagues and both times I was ill that week, and therefore could simply play more games. I came high in most races I played, but there was usually at least one random guy faster than me every time. Yet I beat them simply by scoring when they weren’t there. It felt cheap.

The current version at least makes you race and doesn’t just reward “time served”. That said, if they stick with the current emphasis towards “position change” for scoring, it will just encourage corner cutters and rammers.

The cars feel better on the track.
That is the best thing about 7.
All the bugs/glitches etc come and go with every version, I’m happy they’re trying new things though, it’d be pretty boring if always the same…

Perfect version might have
Clubs/teams from Forza 1
Lobbies from 2
Storefront from 3 (was it 3?)
Cockpit with adjustable fov from 4 (optional fixed mirror like hood cam would be swell)
Drawing a blank on 5
Open rivals from 6
Physics from 7 (with better behaved windshield wipers)

And of course, test track infield/king cobra track would be heavily used in all modes of play!

The things you list are to me only minor annoyances. I would MUCH rather have:

  1. Dynamic weather and time of day
  2. Dash cam
  3. Vastly improved wheel mechanics
  4. More options including race length in career
  5. Homologated division races in career and multiplayer. You can make a case for adding class based on top of this, but class based has always been way too unbalanced to be really useful.
  6. Improved freeplay.
  7. Auction house
  8. Easy to build garage with good or expensive cars on the level ups every time. You get a choice of level reward instead of random.

There are others as well but I’m at work and have to run to the next building.
If I had to pick a missing feature that is needed, I would say add spectator mode back.

You forgot about government structure, military discipline, currency reform, language, the 7 day week, the modern calendar for the most part etc. etc. Yeah they did nothing else for us…

In terms of the Motorsport series, I deleted 5 and 6 from the console. Besides I needed room for the games I got on Black Friday (GR Wildlands, Witcher 3 GOTY, Project Cars 2, AC Origins, FF XV, and Skyrim for XB1).

I think it’s pretty slick how you can make changes to your car, mods, or the race while the next track is loading in the campaign. I also wasn’t a big fan of the weather in FM6, but think the implementation in FM7 is much better and very nice to look at.

In general, I’m enjoying it more than FM6, other than the locked cars all over the place. I would like to be able to buy a GT350 or a Chevy SS…
