It took me all of 30 seconds back in October to select interior no wheel view and sacrifice the mirrors for exactly that reason
… anyway who needs mirrors when the A.I won’t try and overtake you
Please add options to adjust driver view centering (up, down, left, right), options to adjust visual distance (from dash to face), and tilt adjustment (like reclining your seat).
In many cars, too many to list here, the driver looks like he’s using some kind of cushion or support to sit on, with his head nearly touching the roof. The position is all wrong and the dials get concealed behind the steering wheel as a result. I don’t want to look over the dash but rather what’s inside the dash.
As I said, too many cars to list here - you can even see the driver’s position in replays looks correct, height wise, but when you’re actuall driving, it looks like he’s trying to “sit tall” and look over the dash.
Please include a FOV height adjustment so we can adjust the individual height for cars to be able to see the dials properly. Thanks!
Some quick examples off the top of my head:
Subie 22B Impreza
Carrera GT
Some of the modern GT race cars
The driver should not be looking over the dash but just above the dash, so the dials need to be visible, rather than the top of the steering wheel obstructing them.
Yes, add this, camera position adjustment distance and high, especialy in cockpit view . It matters a lot many cars
+1, totally agreed;
if possibile add head tracking support, and also manual headlight on-off please!
thanks!
This in my opinion is the most important thing to add - don’t worry about rushing to add new cars until the experience is sorted.
It has gotten to the point where I have to test drive all the cars available for a builders cup series just to see which cars are actually driveable given the massive differences in positioning in cockpits.
Most recently the Caterham R500 series springs to mind - from a driver’s view it is impossible to see right hand corners as the camera positioning is too low to see over the rear view mirror. So irritating in an already tricky car to drive!
Please make this a priority!
These silly and unnecessary issues can be easily resolved if they give us height adjustment for cockpit FOV and include the option to toggle head tracking on. Kind of like Project Cars’ helmet cam.
Very useful, kind of surprising to still not see head tracking in Forza.
Seat position, height, distance, for some cars its too far away and adjusting fov doesnt make sense.
All sims got it, except this one. its a major issue for me.
I requested this for FH5 as well, they just don’t care man…
Oh I would absolutely love the ability lower or raise the cam position in all perspectives. Would benefit a lot especially in cockpit and chase. The chase cam is too high and you see too much of the roof, I don’t like that. While the cockpit can is way to high in most cars as if the driver is trying to sit up and lean forward and looking down the dash and hood instead of straight at the road.
Don’t know why T10 is always so hesitant to implement features just about everyone would enjoy.
We need 1000+ votes I guess, lol I’ll be married with 5 kids by then!
But 100% with you, Forza’s chase/cockpit cam has been poor since the beginning, I even messaged their lead developer on LinkedIn — still NO acknowledgement.
Hate to break it to you bro/sis, but we’ll be waiting a long time & FH6 likely won’t address this issue either…
Right
I’m a “bro”
Any update on this?
Would love to adjust “seat” position in cockpit view.
Some news about this? Haven’t played FM since a couple months because of this issue… Thx
We need this kind of customization for cockpit view. It will also fix the issues about the off centered cockpit cameras that affects too many cars to be listed. I would suggest to add the same settings that ACC provides (height, distance, lateral etc. ).
I wonder if any of the players who’ve requested this and other features are still around to be disappointed.
Every other real sim has basic seat control (up/down/forward/backward/rotate) to help align the car to your real-life rig and setup, but yet they simply don’t care.
Please add this and I will come back to Motorsport.
This is the only real issue for me as a wheel user that is holding me back.
Still have some hope for summer Xbox presentation, as there were so few core game improvements in the last months.
I’ve been going through the in car views that show both mirrors. Even a sliver of the right or left mirror based on driver side. Very disappointing. By comparison Project Cars 2 (a game from September 2017) gives you tons of control. I don’t see these issues being resolved. The game got absolutely screwed by the timing of the covid pandemic and we got an unfinished game. Absolutely no thought or care for in car views. Some work and others are a complete waste of time. Zero support for tobii tracker, track ir or any VR support.
Basically years in the making and we get a bare bones game.
When your only game is Forza you would think some effort might be made. Apparently not.
At least Playground Games is making an effort on the Horizon series.
Hi Forza Team,
I’d like to suggest a more advanced and immersive implementation of the Field of View (FOV) and cockpit camera adjustments in Forza Motorsport, inspired by features already present in other leading sim racing titles such as Assetto Corsa Competizione, iRacing, and Automobilista 2.
Proposal:
- Adjustable FOV with Live Transparent Preview
- When modifying the FOV, the menu should become semi-transparent or overlaid in a corner, allowing players to see real-time changes while driving or sitting in the cockpit view.
- This gives immediate visual feedback without needing to back out and test changes repeatedly.
- Independent Seat Position Controls
- Add the ability to move the seat forward/backward and up/down, separately from FOV.
- This allows players to fine-tune their field of vision and create a natural and personalized driving position, improving immersion and comfort—especially important for wheel users or cockpit setups.
- Optional Camera Tilt and Offset (bonus idea)
- Some games also allow slight tilt or horizontal/vertical offset of the camera, which can help replicate real-life seating positions better.
These changes would be invaluable for sim racers and would help bridge the gap between Forza Motorsport and more simulation-oriented titles in terms of cockpit immersion and realism.
Thanks for considering this!
