Yesterday I was running Nordschleife race in my 911 GT3 RS in Featured Tour, being first, until around Small Carousel weather changed from clear to torrential rain in few corners time…
And to my suprise, while I needed to slow down significantly, running soft slicks, A.I. running mediums was not fazed at all, and literally pushed me off the track, and ran off into distance…
I know that game is beyond broken, but it somehow finds a way to disappoint me more and more, every time I play…
Have anybody had similar experience?

Yes 100% the exact same experience.
Gradually it becomes impossible to play because you can’t help but notice the lazy half-finished nature of everything.

I also ran Softs in that event. If there was an indication that rain was forecast, I missed it.
Once the rain started, my Softs were like driving on ice. The entire AI field blew past me, and drove away, apparently with zero impact from the rain (unless they were running Wet tires?).
The post-race results menu didn’t say what tires the AI were running. I didn’t feel like re-running all the events to check at race start, but if they weren’t running a wet-suitable tire… that’s not right.

My favorite is driving an extremely handling-biased Alfa (down on power, but extremely good in the corners) Alfa (the 60’s one) at Spa, in B class- and get passed on the outside, mid corner, by a MK1 Jag on stock tires. And then he proceeds to run top 100 rivals pace for the remainder of the event. (I know they were stock, because those are the only ones that are whitewall)
I own a MK1 jag in game. I don’t care how much power you give it, It ain’t running that quick on those tires without bending the rules of physics.

It always blows my mind when AI/NPC drivers in front of me brake hard going into a turn, brake hard mid-corner, & brake hard on exit, but then somehow rocket ahead after exiting a turn.
…I’m no physicist, but I was under the impression that corner entry speed was somewhat of a prerequisite for corner exit speed.

Yes, the ai are not effected by the rain but will pit for wets if the race allows for it. The same happened to me earlier today and the event description said nothing about rain. 3/4 through the race in the lead on softs, slid off wrecked the car passed by everyone and i just shut the game off.
A.I. Jaguar clearly tuned by TWR: no rule unbent!

Lol, how dare they! Someone call the physics police! Get Newton on the horn!
I was also surprised by the rain in that event running on softs. But usually I’m not bothered with wasting my precious time in re-running the career events, so I did a few rewinds and finished in 1st. It’s not AI, it’s T10 just keeps on dissappointing.

If you take the time in the pre race run through of your opponents, you can see what tires they are on before you start the race.

The game is broken in this respect. It doesn’t matter whether you’re playing career or racing against the AI in freeplay.
If rain starts coming down and you’re on slicks, you’re screwed. It doesn’t affect the AI even if they’re on slicks.
I’ve tested it over and over.
Try a Forza GT race against the AI. If the race starts off dry then all the AI will be on slicks because the GT cars only come with racing slicks. When it starts raining, if you’re on slicks then you’ve lost. It’s impossible to turn at speed or get the car slowed down. Not the AI though. They continue the same regardless.

That is why if it’s not needed i rather use sport tyres there are no slicks and you still have good grip on wet tarmac. I mostly stopped using race tyres in the career mode because of that.
It doesn’t matter what tires you use, the AI ISN’T affected by weather, speed, physics, or the law of gravity. All your basically doing is praying that whatever combination you come up with is faster than the “chosen one” in every race.
Turn10 cannot make AI that can drive quickly consistently, so as a band-aid they’ve exempted the AI vehicles from most of the rules the player has to follow (physics, track limits, collisions, etc) and the result does not come across as challenging, it comes across as cheap, cheaty, and lazy.

I recently ran a single make race at Daytona on the oval as an experiment. The cars were all Porsche Taycans, all cars were max upgraded, AI difficulty on 8. My car had a higher PI due to my wheels (3 points).
The Porsche Taycan has ratios that cannot be altered, and is not drag limited on speed- so no matter how much downforce you’re running, you will hit the rev limiter. The rev limited top speed will also negate any benefit to drafting, as the cars simply cannot go any faster.
I selected a rolling start, and PI ordered grid, so I started on outside pole. Immediately after the green, the car behind me accelerated faster than the entire field (remember ALL the cars were identical) and then proceeded to run 12 out of the 15 laps 5mph faster than the cars top speed.
I was hitting 171ish before the rev limiter stepped in, and on the replay, his car was parked at 175 until two laps from the end, when it fell back down to the same speed as the rest of the field.
I tried it at Homestead, and ended up lapping the field, so I’m guessing the amount of advantage the AI gets varies by track.
