24 Car Multiplayer Too Many

The 24 car multiplayer is stupid, the only why to make it safely around the first corner is to get lucky, plus when will T10 make back markers ghost out?!?!?!

While I agree, this has been discussed way too many times on here. Probably will get locked or merged.

Ok, I’ve never been on here before. Plus if its been discussed so much why hasn’t it been addressed?

It’s been discussed (community) and not addressed (Turn 10). It’s quite clear by now that Turn 10 has no intention at all to really invest in the game and improve it on multiple fronts. They have released it in september 2015, updated a few minor fixes and for the rest improving the core game is a waste of money for them. Their only intent for FM6 is to sell a horde of DLC car pack and put all development resources in FM7. When FM7 is out we will see the same pattern, as soon as its released they will do some minor fixes and that’s it. They will only release DLC packs for FM7 and put all development resources in FM8.

It sucks but in a way it is also easy for us. Whatever they bring out on release day is what you get. You don’t need to hope that the game will evolve over time because it won’t.

EDIT - to add something more on topic I think 24 player races are really cool but the implementation from Turn 10 (standing starts, too late ghosting out, the slightest bump will make cars spin out heavily, too short races, etc. etc.) make it the turn 1 disaster that we currently have. Yes we easily blame the so called wreckers but the core of the problem is really the poor game.

24 car multiplayer is really cool in tag, shouldn’t get taken out

It’s one of the key selling points of this game, and will likely remain in future as going from 24 back down to 16 would seem like a downgrade to consumers.

What!? I can’t belive you just wrote that. I am shocked lol. It’s the exact opposite, everyone hates them, they are only good for private lobbies or as mentioned above tag or the other game modes like that.

I love them, they add actual competition, instead of having 3 people in a lobby at a time

Trust me it’s no competition, getting wrecked at the start of every race on the 1st few corners is no competition. It’s chaos and very unorganized. T10 doesn’t realize that not everyone is a pro racer. They may be fast but don’t have the experience of racing with others on the track. Yeah 24 players would be a competition if everyone knew how to race and not hot lap. What causes most of these wrecks is people not knowing how to brake. How are you going tell me that I can be 1-2 car lengths behind someone, pull to side, brake way later then they do, and stop much quicker then they do and pass them easy. It’s really funny actually, it’s just embarrassing for them. And before you jump to any conclusion to prove me wrong, this was not in the tuned leagues, (although it still happens all the time with tuned cars) everyone has the same downforce and brakes as everyone else, and no they do not have any damage. Now imagine what I just said but with 10-15 people people bumper to bumper in a pack. This is why all the wrecks occur. Lack of knowledge/skills of the tracks they are racing. This happens to me all the time when I’m with 1 car or just a few others. It’s either one or the other, they brake way to early and I have no time to move to avoid them( or I can’t cause there’s other cars or walls around me) and get damaged. Or people brake way to late and just ram me in the back. Also what really gets on my nerves is when people are behind you and they think “oh I got the same braking distance as I always do! Let me just not brake until the line turns red because thats what the game says” obviously if you got a car in front of you and you can’t make a pass your braking distance is shorter by more then one car length, ( you also have to take into account of the draft if your braking directly behind them. You’re supposed to pull to side, brake, and then go back to your line but sometimes you can’t cause of other cars around you.)

EVERYBODY does NOT hate them.

I agree. I enjoy them. Could they be better with less wrecking? Sure, and I believe they will get better as more people figure things out. There is a serious learning curve involved.
I’ve watched tons of replays, and the biggest problem seems to be lack of experience, the second biggest problem seems to be “faster” drivers who think they are entitled to the lead and bully their way to the front. The intentional wreckers, those who enter a lobby intent on causing grief, are actually very rare. Its much more common to see an “average” player, who is trying hard, get pushed off the track by the self important (rude) “faster” drivers and then snap and target those “faster” guys.

Unfortunately, its difficult to convince those entitled “faster” players that they need to respect others. Add too that the fact that many if those “faster” drivers are mostly experienced Hot Lappers, with little, if any, experience racing in lobbies or in a pack. They are use to unobstructed access to all racing lines, corner entries, apexes and corner exits. So they don’t know how to respect others on the track.

The game has changed. Hot Lappers don’t have their leader boards, there are no real drag racing or drifting specific tracks or events, and we have 24 player lobbies. There is going to be a learning curve and some growing pains while Turn 10 figures out his to evolve the game. But it’s still a great game, frustrating at times, but great none the less.

When you give people 1-2 laps, track position becomes very important if you want to have a chance at winning. If your near the back you have to be very aggressive, because you start 1000ft away from the leaders.
It’s the nature of sprint racing and asking people to just sit there and be happy with 12th places finish isn’t going to happen.
It’s not even totally lack of Racecraft. If you put 24 of the top drivers on a track in real life, and gave them 2 laps it would look exactly like forza does now.

@ old hippie, i agree 1000% with you and as i said in my previous post we need (wishful thinking) a system to be put in place for everyone to enjoy the game, but even at that wrecks wont stop its just part of races.
I may not agree on everything that we all wish for but some type of compromise should be done, what is that? We just dont know at the moment.

This part of the problem. Nobody wants to compromise. I suggest some thing like ghosting lap traffic and some body will say no way. That’s not real racing, the 1 of 100 races there might be a lap driver just trying to races. Even though it might help 30 of 100 races from trolls.

Actually the grid lineup may increase in the future to accommodate NASCAR, which is a 45 grid line up plus. One of the reasons we don’t have NASCAR in the game is because of this constraint. T10 has to change the architecture of the game drastically to accommodate NASCAR in the future, possibly FM7 and racing in the rain at night. Let’s see what they do with the next installation of Forza news landing in June at E3.

Yeah I agree 24 players racing on a track with no rules or penalties is just not possible without having some sort of accident. At least with 16 players turn 1 would be less stressful for everyone and you would have less people going to the pits or quitting on the first lap.

You would still have the same problems with 16 player lobbies as you did 24 just with less cars involved in crashes, and if we are going to get rid of 16 car lobbies, why don’t we also get rid of small spaced tracks? Because you can’t get around ANY crash with those tracks, that’s about what it’s going to come down to

I agree, I can’t think of a single marquee “improvement” to any other franchise that’s done more to ruin the core experience, and yet there’s not a chance in hell T10 will ever roll back on it because, to put it bluntly, 24 is more than 16 and therefore better by definition.

24 players would be fine if most people knew how to play the game.

Unfortunately not many people per room can race cleanly. Some don’t know how, and some don’t want to know.

What that means for is that do know is that we have a choice: put up with it or play something else. Over the past few weeks it’s gotten to the point where I’ve chosen the latter.

I don’t expect anything to change in the near future, and for it to change in future titles a number of tweaks and tools need to be implemented. Whether they will or not remains to be seen, and my money will likely remain in my wallet until something changes.
