I don’t think the 24 player lobbies are dumb, the problem i have is with the 3 or 4 idiots that think that the first corner or any other corner means a crash derby. I can’t get upset at players that are just not good players because they don’t have the skills but what also bother me is the 3 or 4 players that are so fast that they have the need to bump you off the track if you’re just not at the “ELITE” level. The game would be more enjoyable if there was a system that will separate everyone depending on your skills but i don’t see that happening either.
Dont get me wrong I am all for 24 but 24 really fast drivers on a small track with no rules or penalties. I dont know how to phrase this but it feels like Turn 10 is making us all hate each other. I am not talking about the guys on this forum I am talking about the other thousands of players that do not visit this website. Please dont say that everyone plays by the rules because I was in a lobby with 2 Turn 10 employees and people were still having accidents and tempers started to flare up. Even in Pinnacle League almost every other race had people arguing and drivers taking revenge on other drivers on Road Atlanta, Lime Rock, etc…
Every single problem with wreckers and trolls would be fixed by reintroducing the custom lobby system. Like someone said above, 24 players is fine in private lobbies. The problem is not everyone has that many friends to race with, and generally private lobbies are difficult to get into for the average player. Give us the ability to create custom lobbies with a host who sets track lists, assist rules, player counts, etc. and has ability to ban trolls. Boom. All problems solved. The good, clean racers will naturally go to and stay in the lobbies managed by good hosts, and the people who just want to race dirty or troll will be excluded.
Reduce the player count to 16 for hoppers, I guess. But don’t remove the 24 player functionality entirely.
I was in a lobby of around 10 or so players and it was a nightmare.
The issue this time were 2 drivers who weren’t bad per say, but the didn’t seem to understand that you have to slow down more if you’re behind a power tune and that there is a time and place to pass.
The problem isn’t 24 players. The problem is an ineffective vote to kick and a game that does nothing to teach players how to drive clean.
It’s not the number of players, it’s the idiots that are in the lobby, it won’t matter, whether the lobby has 24 people or 3, there will always be “that guy” who feels like he deserves better than everyone else
I will say it again bring back Custom private lobbies, please I beg you. Maybe if enough of us bother them they will do it. I just don’t get it, whose bright idea was it not to have them? It would solve so many issues that are ruining this game.
I like the 24 car races. Yes the first lap can be super annoying with people crashing but I think smaller lobbies will still have the same effect. The more unfortunate part is that it’s gotten to the point that you can’t tell if it’s someone making a mistake or someone just being dumb. I also think that if people would bail out and try to avoid crashes it would help a lot too. I did that a couple times last weekend and while I gave up a spot or two, I was able to everyone was able to continue and I believe I still ended with more points then if I had slammed into the back of someone then went into the pits.
Having back markers ghosted would be a huge increase. In the trofeo league, twice while racing in the top 3, I got crashed out on the last lap by someone a lap down not getting out of the way. One was at Indy that ran all the way out to the wall when I was 3/4 of a car length in front.
I think if there was a penalty system that would help a lot or if the game was quicker making cars ghosts when they crash. It would certainly help on tracks with zero run off like the mountain section of Bathurst.
They are too busy spending precious time and resources on things like mod cards, autovista and top gear voice overs to make this a serious racing game. I’d rather see that money and hard work invested in actual gameplay instead of gimmicks.
I know it is a long shot but maybe enough complaining will at least have them add it in future Forza titles. It isn’t that easy to find enough people to play in a regular private lobby on a daily basis.
When people start staying away and not buying access is when they will take notice. When my sub is up I’m done as continuing to pay hoping the situation will improve is futile. I buy access specifically for Forza and getting 2 decent races out of 10 isn’t good value for my money.
In my opinion this is all fixable through software with the establishment of a ghosting penalty for contact system. Remove the incentive for the belligerent wreckers and inconsiderate players and they will go back to Call of Duty
I doubt it, FM6 sales are already lower than FM5 and those from FM5 were already lower than FM4. The game IS already on the decline, I wonder when Turn 10 will find out. It will probably have to come to a point where Dan Greenwallet wants to play his 24 player 1080p 60 frames-per-second public hopper lobby and have nobody to race against.
Or they learned where to lurk and snipe at players entering the game after having it done to them. I don’t play those games but I was told it was a problem before and was told last week they had levied a “friendly fire” penalty to eliminate it in one of the games he played.
