Xbox Series S/X Infinite Loading Screen Fix

A temporary workaround for people who may be experiencing the infinite loading screen issue on Xbox Series S and Xbox Series X consoles.

For me, the issue began after applying a new design to one of my in-game vehicles. After applying the design, the game took an abnormally long time to save and my game ultimately crashed. When I tried to restart the game I became stuck at the initial loading screen (after you press A to start playing).

I believe the issue only affects the Panic Button version of Horizon 4 for the Series S / X.
The Playground Games version of Horizon 4 for the Xbox One seems to be unaffected.

The Solution:

The solution that worked for me was to load the game up on an Xbox One and allow the game to refresh the save. Swapping vehicle or moving to a new player home normally achieves this.

I then closed down the game on the Xbox One and allowed the console to sync this new save with the cloud.

Turning on my Series X, I deleted my local save game.

TAKE CARE here!

DO NOT delete your save game from “everywhere” as this will permanently delete all your progress. The option you want is to delete the local save game from your console ONLY.

I then started up Forza Horizon 4 and allowed the game to re-download my save game from the cloud.

Once this was complete I was able to play Horizon 4 again as normal.

As mentioned above, this is only a temporary fix for players who are able to access and Xbox One console or even the PC version of Horizon 4. It doesn’t do anything to fix the cause of the issue and, as such, the issue may return before the developers find a more permanent solution. But, at the very least, I hope it gets some of those affected back to being able to play the game.

Thank you very much! But it doesn’t work for me. Installed it on my Pc and it works. But it still don’t work on my series X.

Thanks for the method mate. Didn’t work for me. My account seems bugged. I can’t exit the garage otherwise it just crashes. Can’t even progress to start Horizon summer lol. Only way I can play is if someone invites me as it don’t start me at the garage.

Thanks, worked a treat for me!

Hi there

Anybody with a Xbox series X if you are having trouble with Forza Horizon 4 freezing on the Sync screen don’t despair.

I was having that exact problem, first of all at time of writing I am running Version 2.473.435.0
leave the Xbox running and after about 20 minutes or so you will see it at about 1-2% so let it go and after about 30 mins it will be at about 7% but do not close it and after about 1 hour it should be at 100% and the game will be running correctly as it was before the faulty patch. I have loaded the game in after exiting it fully and quiting the game. It loads in super fast once you get it working, upon running it the second time the syncing is very fast. So if you can wait 1 hour to let it sync the first time It will run but if you have an oled and are worried about screen burn be sure to turn off your tv whilst it syncs, hope this helps fellow forza players out, please leave a comment and let us know if it works for you. I was so annoyed when I got my series X last week and this game did not load and I couldn’t seem to find an answer other than going offline whilst it loaded but that sent me back to the start of the game which I was not going to do. So just be patient and wait for the data to sync it only took about 1 hour for me, so if you go back in an hour and it is still on 0% I would say it’s not going to work for you.

Cheers
