I’d like a AH, but with a different fee structure than FM4. how about a 10% listing/selling fee. List it with a starting price, you’re automatically going to be deducted 10% of that starting price (lose 10% of the remaining selling price at auction close). List it with a buyout price, get deducted 10% of that buyout price right up front.
I think such a scheme would go along way towards fixing the AH and cutting down on the people that buy up all the 250GTs, etc. and then relist them at high buyouts.
you have time to load a tune in lobbies between races, but creating a good tune in the 45 second between track selection and the race…not in my wildest dreams am i ever going to be that good, nor do i think is anyone else. its not even a close call, there simply isn’t nearly enough time. heck you can run out of time picking a car and loading a tune if you aren’t paying attention.
It’s not about creating an entire tune. Often the only difference between tunes for different tracks is the final drive ratio. It was nice to only have one tune and be able to set the drive between races. My understanding was it created problems in the lobbies when people were still tuning and the race was about to start, usually crashing the lobby. It’s doubtful they’ll bring it back.
As far as the AH, I rarely if ever used it, so I won’t miss it. I do support the one’s who do use it though, it’s a big part of the game for them. I would miss the SF. I’m lousy at painting, and don’t have the motivation to do it anyway, so I like buying nice paints off the SF.
I agree EZT. It was really just a matter of tweaking little bits, race by race, slowly adjusting the car’s tune to ‘fit’ a bit tighter.
For me that was my main method of tuning. To give an initial tune in test drive mode, take it to the lobbies and refine it in tiny bits during races. And of course in private lobbies, it was a really fun way to have a few guys testing and see the results pan out race to race. It was a lot of fun and educational back then.
I always thought they might have a system where if you didn’t save your tune within 15 seconds of intermission end, you would lose your changes and be forced back into the lobby.
But it’s ok, it just means we have to load up tunes, so I hope the system provided for searching and loading tune setups is a little more efficient!
hmmm. i was only thinking about public lobbies. i may be the minority in here, but even in private lobbies it takes me longer to tune a car than i would be willing to wait between races. when people go into a lobby they want to race, not wait generally. but i can see allowing it in private lobbies so groups of friends could get together to create tunes. it would be more a tunning event than a racing event. maybe just put test drive mode online? dont know how you are going to work the pause and adjust into live gameplay tho. maybe ghost you and you just get lapped? or make tuning in the pits only? but if its not an endurance race the race would be over before i even finished my tune to start the race.
i would settle for gifting. it would give my useless stack of credits a purpose again. i could donate to new players who would enjoy freebies, to the exact same players forza rewards is for. credits you cant spend that just keep piling up doesn’t feel like a reward. i haven’t played fm5 for months, i have gone back to playing 4. i still get rewards when i win in 4, rewards i can use. i still dont own everything in 4. i never did stop playing 2 or 3 until my nephew “borrowed” them years ago. one day he asked what i was looking for. “oh i borrowed that” which turns into “i forgot it again” which turns into “i cant find it” and even asked if i “borrowed” it back".
by the way dont give you nephews consoles for christmas, what you are actually giving them is a reason to take all your games.
