Why, turn 10? Why?

So I stayed round my friends last weekend and he’s a good racer. He has a ps5 and GT.

I can’t believe this game came out before our Motorsport. It’s like it’s actually next gen.

Feature packed. Clean(ISH) community.

Last but not least… A RADAR

Cmon turn 10, what’s going on here. Yes the cars feel better than previous titles but it’s fallen short on so many levels.

Forza Motorsport doesn’t deserve this.

I think we all know the game that we have now it’s basically it…the engine looks old. Ray tracing is non existent compared to announcement footage. Dull graphics. The Audi touring car interior is horrific. I can go on and on but don’t wish to beat a rotting horse.

If there is another motorsport then wait till next gen.

Even better do a colab with i-racing or something. There’s no more Forza Motorsport 4 love to spend

GT7 even still runs on the PS4. If someone is happy with the FM graphics of the XBOX Series X, they could also buy a used PS4.

I’ve seen videos of gt sport on PS4 Vs FM on series x. What the hell went wrong

I have both games and can only smile tiredly at your story. Yes, GT7 is now technically mature, while Forza is full of problems that annoy me more every day.
But where you would like to have discovered “more next gen” in GT7, please explain in more detail.
The car models of GT7 are sublime, Forza does a really bad job here. However, when it comes to the lighting and especially the weather, GT7 looks exactly like the last gen game that it is.
As much as I want a lot of things from it, a lot of things in GT7 seem old-fashioned, static and more like a car exhibition than a real racing game.

Something else personal:
Even more than the Forza bugs, I’m tired of threads like this. This endless bickering, without a single constructive thought, is simply boring. Just buy a PS5 and play Gran Tourismo if you can’t stand it anymore. What is the point of this meaningless complaining and to whom?

As a player, trying to explain the technical solution to a company that has been making nothing other than this game for years is asking too much. But there is one simple thing that is clear to everyone in business: If you cannot meet your obligations, offer to reverse the deal and compensate the other party. The refund of the purchase price paid is the minimum.
Those who would rather wait for fulfillment do so of their own free will and do not have to complain.

I think it just looked better. Track details. Lighting models. Track lighting and placement of objects. Racing line in the wet… track looking realistic during rain.

That’s not to say it beats Forza on everything. Forza is more atmospheric. Driving Nord in gt7 at night is terrifying. In Forza… it’s completely lit unrealistically

I think the penalty system is handled better aswell in gt7.

Also player ratings. I can go from E to S and back down to E in Forza in 3 days. It should take me weeks to get and S rating in safety

3 days? 3 Races you mean… Cause rating system not exist there. The rating system works just as poorly as the penalty system

I agree with you man.I was playing GT7 last night at my neighbors house and while it does look pretty good, it’s nothing special. It is nowhere near as good as I had hoped. The driving feels flat and lifeless, the cars have a weird slidey feeling whilst cornering, kinda like they pivot in the center sort of thing. After all the praise I’ve heard I finally played about 4 hours worth and now I know I prefer Fm23 on PC despite it’s lack of tracks. GT7 is a good enough game but the ‘actual’ differences are not enough for me to be interested anymore in buying a used ps5 tbh. It’s just another track racer, happens to be on playstation.

Ive played both games and put some time into each one. 400 hours into GT7 but just over 800 hours in FM. With all its faults I far prefer FM. On a controller it’s so much better than GT7.
When GT7 came out I wasn’t blown away by the graphics. I personally think FH5 blows GT7 out the water graphically. Same applies to FM.
GT7 isn’t a proper sequel it’s more GT Sport 2. Single player is so boring and sterile. Like someone else mentioned it’s more a car collectors game than a racer.
Obviously I prefer FM but everyone is entitled to their own opinion. It’s no crime to like one more than the other.

At least forza knows what color a brake light is.

Dunno bout that cause I seem to remember that at a distance the Red brake lights show white, just like they did and still do in FM7.

Might have been fixed, I’ll take a look when I log in today to tick off the fomo

“Dear Diary…”

I saw some example pictures from the PC in this forum. In terms of sharpness, they are comparable to those from GT7, as long as DOF and motion blur are switched off.
But console gamers see a different image. There are enough side by side comparison here Forza Motorsport Graphics Downgrade research and comparisons - #444 by grolschie
The images in the official trailers also looked good. I wouldn’t complain if it looked anywhere near as good on the XBOX.

You can say that FM23 looks good on PC. But please don’t use that as an argument when an XBOX player complains about the graphics.

I agree with most of the comments here, ive played, and still play, GT7 since launch though not as much and the racing has always seemed sort of stale. There doesnt seem to be any real excitement racing the AI, I cant say for multi player as I dont subscribe to psn.
FM racing, apart for the naff AI, always seem frenetic and maybe exciting. Theres not denying how detailed the cars are on GT7 but the career and menu books, once done, is done.
I left GT7 alone for a few months but once the update dropped and unlocked engine swaps and made them buyable it bought me back into the game.
Sorry for the off topic ramble.

Yeah I forgot xbox players are here too.I havn’t played on my SX since a couple days after launch… PC all the way.

I think something that needs to be acknowledged when talking about the fm23 graphics breakdowns on YouTube is that the gfx have improved alot since launch. Especially when it comes to colors. A few updates ago the fame looked much more washed out.

Also i can’t remember the last time the sun blinded me to death, T10 have definitely made improvements.

There’s still plenty of races where you approach a bend heading into the sun, which washes out the braking line, a feature added to aid the less skilful players, rendering it pointless.

Also, using the in-car view means you get ‘realistic’ dazzle, which is dumb because real life drivers use filtered visors to deal with that.

I always wondered if the blinding sun effect was introduced in FM5 to disguise new stuff being loaded on screen on the not-as-powerful-as-expected Xbox One.

Interesting theory. It’s possible although the overly bright sun rays have just been a part of their engine I think. They’ve also used really zoomed POVs in their game to hide stuff I suppose. Fm6, 7, horizon 3, 4 Ans 5, etc. Thank God the FOV has returned to normal in the current one but I’ve to be honest, track surfaces ans environments don’t look thay impressive, neither is the car audio authentic ana high quality, seeing how it’s a Series only xbox title. It’s barely an upgrade over the Xbox one X enhanced FM 7.

Really miss the days of FM 2-4, we never got a remaster for those unfortunately.

I’m super excited to see what PCARS 4 and Assetto Corsa 2 can do on the current gen consoles.

Carry on then, sorry for the off topic.

PCars4? Not heard anything about that, after PC3’s abrupt demise thought it would never happen.
