The biggest reason for me to be upset with this game is that for the last three releases as a community we’ve all been had.
FM6 released rushed with lots of features (especially online) missing but overall was arguably the best of the Xbox One gen.
FM7 came out even worse than FM6 rushed hard with features lacking and needing an absolute overhaul with the mod cards debacle and homologation that was meh.
This one stings even more than usual especially for those of us who spent hours filling out suggestions and doing surveys to help the developer make something you know will be good because it’s been done before. Everything that I personally suggested were things that made their previous as epic as they were and my feedback was mostly kicked to the curb.
Thankfully this game isn’t a total loss since multiplayer and physics seem great so far but gosh dawg there’s still a lot missing that should’ve been there for launch. I guess this half baked stuff is why we don’t get limited demos anymore, this game needed a delay.
Want me to be real? The tracks popping in and out is distracing and could make the game impossible to play on PC. The wheel set up is erm, bad. Not Calibration like what PC2 had. FFB is non existant currently. And so much more
nor do I have any crashes or error. It’s just that the game has no fun. If I wanted simulation there are much better options for me. If I want roleplay there are much better options for me. The game doesn’t do anything better than games that are already there on the PC market and are much much cheaper.
The CORE of the Game is solid on console. It is NOT without flaws, DO NOT Twist my words on that, but I think there are some who had expectations of this being a lot more Sim than it was ever meant to be. The harshest critics I keep seeing probably haven’t even tried the game, or are picking out things that will NOT be an issue to a good majority.
There are bugs with Online, but quite frankly, I’ve been watching streamers on other games, every game I’ve watched has experienced Online issues in the past week at least, that’s GT7, iRacing, ACC.
What we need to remember above all the issues that actually exist and aren’t overblown whining, there are a hell of a lot of people actually Enjoying the game for what it is, and when things are added and fixed it will get better.
On the Microsoft Store the rating is at 2.5 stars average but with only 67 reviews (maybe that is only my region?). Anyhow, the break down is like this thus far, with the major chunk being 1 star.
Oh and they even cheat on their store, they feature a 5 star with 1 thumbs up and 4 down as most helpful and the comment is simply ‘amazing’. Meanwhile a 2 star rating with 6 thumbs up and 2 down is only shown if you go and filter by most helpful yourself. Interesting how this is not the featured one.
Physics are great. Career progression is too cumbersome.
There are some genuine issues for a product which they said is built from the ground up and 6 years in the making so I think people’s grievances are genuine and shouldn’t be written off as “negative”.
Problem is, there are plenty of failed games that have good cores, because while the core may not be the issue with the game, it definitely didn’t help to save it.
If you’re not willing or just not even masochistic enough to subject yourself to Forza’s infamous multiplayer, what you’re left with is a, minimum, $70 (USD) game that can be cleared in just shy of a week, or less if gaming is your life. After that, you have nothing aside from one championship being dripfed to you a week. Hardly a sustainable gameplay loop. On top of that, any attempts to explore and delve further into that core are stymied by gameplay mechanics that are outright disrespectful to players.
Games that survive and thrive don’t have the problems that this game does. And right now, it is very much debatable whether this team can fix those problems and if said problems can even be remedied. Dismissive posts like this don’t make that situation go away.
Deal with it. Seriously. Drop the Chris Crocker act and just deal with it. Because if Turn 10 won’t deal with it…if they can’t deal with it, it’s going to get a whole lot worse. They promised a well-oiled machine, and what they delivered doesn’t even amount to a decently-saturated Charlie Sheen. This is the price for writing checks they couldn’t cash.
So do you, the OP or the 7 people that have liked that opening post have any actual argument of substance against the criticisms being made?
It’s all well and good getting upset about it and trying to shame people but if you can’t disprove what’s being said or give a better reason beyond blind sentiment + feeling you don’t have a leg to stand on.
Having a go at people on a personal level for saying things you don’t like is not a counter to the actual thing they’ve said, it’s a coping mechanism.
