Why So much negativity

Because everybody who runs into problems rushes to the forum to vent frustruation.
It is typical for any game launch.

The answer is simple: they sold me tracks and cars for $100, but they forgot to sell me the game. Oh, sorry… they also drew 21 cover for 21 race and called this Career )).

In steam people some actually gives negative review when they can’t cheat…
Are we really watching this?

Nonsense.

Nonsense is watching reviews from users but nevermind…

Welcome to racing games. This is exactly how career looks like in every racing game.

Not really, many racing games have far better career mode.

Agree… I have ACC, R3E, Automobilista 2 and more already and i love these games. But these games costs typically about $20. For $100 and 6 years of waiting, I was expecting an AAA game. Cut scenes, epic soundtrack, various game modes and challenges (i like cafe mode in GT7 with cool stories about the cars).

The problem with FM (for me of course) is that it is “Yet Another” online racing game.

P.S. I absolutely don’t worry about technical problems at the moment. I think Turn 10 will be fix it by time (i hope).

this game and the devs deserve all the nagativity they can get. What have you been doing all these years? seriously, how can you guys slap a $150 tag on the special edition with nothing speacial on offer?!?!!?
Anyway, this is probably the last Forza game Turn 10 will make. I can see MS restructuring after thisd abomination…still cant beleive it!

I like the new Forza Motorsport. Especially as race atypical aspects are gone and it is IMHO more a racing game than enforced arcadeification - if this is a word. I’m not anymore showered with cars i don’t want and need. I even like the car progression idea. Gone are these stupid things like care bowling in career mode. The multiplayer is better, and the penalty system and safety rating are good things (even if it needs improvement).

However, people enjoyed the tings that i hated. Car Pokémon was a huge thing for many people. Instantly tuning anything to max was a huge thing. Arcade-ish game modes had a huge fan base. The drifters feel undervalued as players group since some generations of forza. I think this list can be enlarged, that’s just what came to my mind.

Ant then there is the elephant in the room … overhyped expectations to get the dream Forza, tailored to what an individual expected from a game “Rebuild from ground up”, compared to what it is. Then add the common attitude to focus on the flaws (and the game in the actual state has a lot) and being loud about it instead of enjoying the game.

“What i hate on Forza Motorsport” is just the headline that grabs more attention.
I enjoy career and multiplayer in a limited set of classes / car types. Sometimes doing liveries and logos (what i have not tested for now). And i have fun with what i got.

However, i can also understand why certainn groups of players don’t like what Motorsport is now. Probably for many of those players Horizon is the better series.

What i hoped for a new forza game is more racer, less arcadeification and collector’s game. And so i got what i wanted in many aspects. I wish career had qualification for grid position. Do i need to rant about not having this -no.

What i hope for the future, use the two series - Motorsport and Horizon - for what they are. Motorsport for the Racers, Horizon for the - collectors, meme tuners, arcade modes, aggressive street racing, fun racing - you name it.

Its not a perfect game, and thats fine. Yet its got some serious issues that just can’t be ignored. Also players want to be heard and releated to. So they come here to vent. Being blatantly positive about it would be a bit disingenuous. And i don’t think the players here are so eager to defend Turn10 since the forza games have flopped for years. Release now,fix later? Players fall into this pit all the time and look how that turns out. They got 1 thing somewhat right and other 5 things completely wrong. Even on like a base surface level game/tech product design.

Like why remove graphics presets for example? And make it 1000 times more dificult to understand what the player is tweaking? Forza has been known for accessibility right? They brag and brag about it and they even go as far as making the UI feel easy to navigate. Yet it’s missing simple things like even the advanced controller settings is lacking customization options. And thats on the technical side like all of recent forza games seem to forget they’re supposed to release stable, working games with all of its basic quirks and features.

Lets see ive played for about 5 hours on PC/gamepass.

  • I haven’t played online but it does seem like a lot more solid system although it needs more work.

  • Handling was approachable, good for controller

  • Game performance was good for me on AMD, got 65-75 fps easily ( hard to asses what graphics settings ive used like high, ultra?, what is auto?1???)

  • TAA is awful in 1080p, we should be able to disable it and now everything is a blurry mess. Dynamic resolution presets - low, medium, high, ultra are confusing. Why by default its set to below 100 % scaling ? And what do these settings even mean? (i guess digital foundry is your friend here)

  • Car paints are completely wrong even though they claimed to have a much better color response, depending on the platform and the settings it can get worse, the paint booth room couldn’t be more basic and colors generally look awful there as well

  • The AI feels good to race against. It does put up a challenge, which i like. But then it also likes to slam into you, like it doesn’t have any space awareness. It needs more work but its a good start

  • The upgrade system isn’t too bad for the single player career mode. But it is a bit limiting. It takes me 10 levels to actually put something meaningful on my car and make a difference on the track. If they removed the level restrictions, but kept the car levels and car points it would be a million times better.

  • I liked the game tracking my driving and assigning a score. And in practice i liked the sections where there was a timer assigned and a name so i can remember these parts of the track and improve. Although i feel like there could’ve been so much more done for practise to make it vary a little bit. Like in F1 you have a bunch of goals to try and achieve for a said practice session. Not expecting an F1 game, but having variety would benefit this mode.

  • The game clearly lacks content, 20 tracks are not enough, the single player careers have a faire base lenght but it should’ve had the option to increase it if the player wants to . Although now i feel like they’d also need that extra variety in practise to makeup for the increased lenght otherwise it would just get boring really quickly.

Overall not the most terrible game, but thats just from the perspective of someone who’s never played a forza motorsport game before. It doesn’t make good first impressions but its got potential. The lack of content will very soon bite the players in the ass. There is post launch but i’m afraid thats not gonna change too much. Especially since there are areas of the game that haven’t seen attention in years. If they give us an option to disable TAA i might actually buy the game

Edit: At least let players upgrade in freeplay, its limiting and frustrating when you can’t even test tunes and builds. You know normally this brings a lot of replayability that’s just now taken away or hidden behind pointless grinding

This has got to be a paid bot post. This is by far the worst Forza ever made. Needs a ton of fixes. The glitches, the seemingly incomplete career mode, the multiplayer allowing for a ton of assists without penalizing your skill rating, the AWFUL graphics, etc…

Apparently this is going to be a thing in videogames now, messy launches because of no QA.

If you setup a Free Play race with multiple classes it really exposes how useless the AI is in this game. The AI cannot overtake at all unless it is on a straight. I have seen R class cars trundle behind B class cars until there is a long enough straight to overtake, they make almost no moves through braking zones or corners to overtake.

This is probably why there are no Multiclass events in the career, the AI is useless and the races would look like a joke. This is on 7/8 AI difficulty.

My biggest gripe is how is the sector number is calculated and how do you improve it if you are not told how to. Oh, all cars starting from Level 1 even within same brands!
