Why is my wheel stiff?

So i have g29 and im playing on pc my wheel feels really hard to turn and its not smooth been playing assetto and loeb rally with no problems anyone else having this ?

Turn the force feedback down to like 30. With FFB at 100 it feels like driving a 70’s car with no power steering…while…your arms are broken.

All the feedback settings though?

nah the main one for overall force feedback (its right near the vibration intensity slider). I also reduce the vibration in the wheel as it seems to cause an issue with it being all the way up. The FFB is way overpowered in Forza. I have the FFB at 30 and the understeer FFB at like 75 I believe.

Ok just turned it down although abit smoother i dont feel the wheel snapping when i get oversteer on the porsche for example in other games the transitions are much smoother and accurate to what the car is doing

FFB in forza has never been the best. I usually turn it down to the point where I still feel it but that it doesn’t distract me. Its unfortunate but even a little FFB is better than none.

Ive played now with a pad and all assists off just like with my wheel and its so much better with it its like the game is not meant to be played with a wheel what a shame

so much for playing on the Guitar Hero peripherals…

Hahaha yea how embarrasing i just turned off all the feedback and wheel still feels like glue when u oversteer its impossible to turn it round to opposite lock by then im in the wall lol

I mean the G29 isn’t a new wheel by any means but there should still be some settings that will make it playable. Crazy.

Make sure you have the latest version of Logitechs gaming software ‘Found Here’, reset the games force feedback settings to their default and then proceed to change these ingame FFB items as a starting point:

Vibration - 50%
Wheel Damping - 0%
Centre Spring - 0%

From there set the Force Feedback to what ever feels comfortable for you, just remember that the higher you have this one set; the more chance of clipping you will have. Clipping will muddy the forces you will feel from the force feedback through the wheel, and a good starting point will be around 85%, chances are you may want it a little lower.

These are the settings I was using on my G920 this morning.

Ok thanks that has helped quite abit way more snapy on oversteer not perfect like other games but now playable atleast also why cant i change my degrees of rotation in game ?

Typically on the PC you would change the DOR on a per game basis via the driver software for your particular wheel, in this instance that would be in the Logitech gaming software. Ive been running my DOR at the highest, in the demo I have not felt the need to lower it on either my G920 running at 900° of rotation; or on my T300 RS-GT running at 1080° of rotation. But that is just me, others have felt it was better to lower the DOR for the Nissan race car and the racing truck.

Ive tried to make a custom profile on logitech but it wont let me find the forza app so i cannot make a new profile

Forza will be a special case on the PC, as it uses UWP (Universal windows platform) to run xbox games on windows PC. So in this instance you will need to use the default profile in the logitech software, and then set it to persistent so it stays active.

Also, try a different USB port. I don’t know why, but my G920 doesn’t fully function in all the available USB spots? Maybe just my system? They’re also some useful adjustments in the Logitech Software. Turn down the rotation to around 600 + or - 50. And I turned down the sensitivity a couple points. 50 =47.

Boom, helpful. ^
