I was so hyped for the game, bought a 600 dollar wheel. It’s colleccting dust now.
Was so hyped to do some painting. I do realistic cars. Mostly Ford racing cars. My paints are realistic to the cars they run on. The amount of downloads and uses is so depressing, it’s not even worth wanting to invest 40 hours to do other paints. Usually what it takes to make a really true to life paint.
Was so hyped to do career mode. Finished that so quick. Then looking at the rest of the events and pathetic prizes for how many events and time you have to invest to complete them. Oh BORING race time I might add.
Has a bit of enjoyment with Rivals, but they payouts are pathetic for how much time you spend in them. Additionally there is really no bonus for getting high up in the boards, nor for doing hardcore times.
I only come to the forums to see if there is anythi8ng coming up the pipeline to renew my interest in the game.
I won’t even mention online racing. No joy in that due to getting shunted off track almost any time you try pass. Not to mention ridiculous wait times on lobbies and races.
So do you just come to the forums to see if there are any changes, or do you still try play this game?
I’ve been playing very little as of recently. It feels like the game does everything it can to demotivate me from playing it. Maybe I want to do a quick open class race? Well, I don’t have a good car in whatever class is up and it’s going to be hours driving in free play just to be able to tune a new car. And then it’s sometimes a 20-minute wait to do a 10-minute race, where I’m probably going to get punted off in the first lap since the safety rating doesn’t mean much of anything.
Then there’s the career-- the same annoyances with the upgrade system are there, the AI is awful, and the rewards given are almost zero. One reward car per tour, which is one a month once you have the basic and barebones builder’s cup out of the way.
This game should be a textbook example of how not to design your gameplay loops. I want a reason to play and running laps in test drive to level some car for the 20th time isn’t doing it.
I lost my passion to play as investing 1.5 to 3.0 hours per car I want to build/tune has become nauseating. I’ve put in well over 800 hours already, which is mostly leveling cars to build tune. I’m done putting real time in until current Car Progression system is overhauled. That’s not a threat, as me not playing means nothing to T10. Instead it’s just a statement of fact from my perspective. If car progression is addressed in a positive way, I might venture back. Until then, I might log in occasionally when the itch comes on.
I really enjoy the racing although I find the Ai kinda stupid. The actual driving feeling of different cars is very well done IMO.There simply is not enough tracks,it’s a shame how they removed all the iconic fantasy tracks that we could only play in Forza.Prague would have been sick in this game, but nope, gone.Bernese alps would really shine too, nope.I mean Brands Hatch gone, really? It’s just barren of tracks, and one a month isn’t going to save it I’m afraid. They stated it wouldnt even be one a month at some point,so I hunted down a PS5/GT7 combo like many others who were once Forza only have done.
I’ve pretty much stopped playing the game. It’s just not that much fun. Career mode is totally uninspiring and having to grind to level up cars is PAINFUL!
I don’t get much time to play games, so I play when I can. Mostly just the weekly spotlight challenges. I have time for one challenge per week so it works out fine for me. I’m definitely not 100 percenting this game, or playing the builders cup until they give me a reason to.
I play a bit. Only in free play for a few hours a week, compared to the hours a day in fm6 especially. I’m the only one of my friends who still play and all my Xbox friends were made in FM4-7. A real shame but completely understandable
I played quite a bit at launch, but the amount of time and energy I’m willing to devote to FM 2023 has quickly petered out since then. As with most other players, I’d attribute it to the upgrade system. I’d sink so much time into aimlessly driving a car to level it up, and by the time I get to the point where I can properly fiddle with the upgrades, I’m just too bored to want to continue playing for the day.
To prepare a road car for class racing, I usually throw together a baseline set of upgrades to get the car to the desired class. I run the car a few laps in rivals and play around with the upgrades until I get a favorable upgrade setup, then I start adjusting tunables, test more, then race. The issue is, getting to step 1 takes a lot of otherwise meaningless driving in FM. Career mode is an option of course, if the car I was building is usable there, but to me it feels no different than if I was driving in free play. Ideally I’d like to be able to throw together a car and drive it in multiplayer, but unless I chose a car that was already near the top of a class then it’s not feasible.
Currently I still do play FM, but my sessions usually consist of driving a car around in free play or doing one or two multiplayer races in the few cars I’ve already built. Sometimes I just get to the “Press A to Start” screen and quit out of it right away after thinking “do I really just want to spend an hour driving or do I want to just do something else”. I might chip away at the limited time career mode events here and there, but not necessarily because I enjoy doing them. Hardly 3 months into the game and I’m already burnt out with it…
I am pretty much done playing and will check back with the next update to see if anything is fixed.
I’ve also decided to never buy another Microsoft console despite being an Xbox OG customer. Having paid for Gold and now Ultimate pretty much the entirety of Xbox lifespan - I have given them quite a lot of money and represent quite a lot of potential future value to Microsoft.
In my opinion - their treatment of their customers this year is absolutely appaling - essentially I believe they have covered up their miss-steps and are operating a policy of silence / rebuttal to all criticism for their shoddy releases.
T10’s attitude in refusing to discuss directly with their customers feedback or provide any acknowledgement of this dung show, combined with providing an utterly useless support channel is in my opinion criminal - they have sold us a product that fundamentally is not what was advertised and does not work - and then like snake-oil salesmen they’ve slipped away to avoid facing repercussions.
The combination of Starfield and it’s Bonafide fake metacritic reviews and manipulated critic scores - followed by T10’s abomination complete with a litany of fake metacritic reviews, manipulated critic scores and blatantly false awards has confirmed for me that Xbox is beyond repair and I will be using what Microsoft services I’m currently tied to until the moment I switch to Playstation, possibly at a hardware refresh or between console cycles.
If anybody at T10 studio part of the plan to maintain silence is reading, you have created a repugnant situation and if you represent the best of Microsoft and Xbox then I have no hesitation taking my future business to your direct competition.
I stopped playing after the second update. Booted up game few times post that update, but by now I have completely stopped and FM is uninstalled from both console and PC.
I visit forums for mostly for information and general discussion (arguments ).
I stopped playing just after a couple of hours from launch…tx to GPass avoiding me to spent my money for such a boring mess ! …No hype at all for this new opus, just hoping something “well done” after 6 years…Was definitively wrong …turn10 plan is only to make easy money using initial deserved Forza reputation…and that trend since a decade now…whatever the real reason they decided to do such a bad work, i don’t even care now, it is only a game and there are plenty of other much better alternatives …for those who have (or still hope to have) fun with it, it’s fine but for me “this” will be my last “turn” saving 130Gb on my serie X…
I haven’t played in over a week. Second time I’ve done that, and this one’s probably going to stick for a while.
Sight unseen, let me guess what the track lineup is for the first featured championship. Someone who still is playing, feel free to correct me: Hockenheim, Spa, Mid-Ohio Full, Homestead Road Course, Kylami.
There’s just nothing there. I can’t be bothered to force myself with this stupid thing any longer. Spending 20-30 minutes apiece on the same 6-10 layouts maxing out cars I have little or no interest in because it somehow makes more sense than using an already maxed-out car is the spitting definition of banality.
I AFK grinded through the “career” open class series and now this game is exclusively for testing. There really is absolutely no reason to play this game, especially since I went out of my way to play something better. FM has become the absolute definition of bad gameplay design and loop, where is the fun in playing the same tracks over and over to get exactly 1 FOMO prize and a few credits you can’t use?
It’s really sad but the competition is now my main, hopefully in a year or two they’ll have some original thoughts for good gameplay.
I was really excited about this game, and foolishly bought it at launch. First and foremost, the game’s performance issues on PC have forced me to quit this game. Just too frustrating.
After every graphics change, the game must be restarted or I’ll end up with framerates that look like a slide show. After a lot of time messing around with graphics settings, I had the game set up to run a solid 60 FPS. In multiplayer, the race begins at 60 FPS and with each lap, it runs worse and worse, finally finishing the race at 20-30 FPS. To correct this, I have to restart the game, and the entire fiasco repeats itself. I tried everything I could think of, including running the game at its lowest possible settings (on a RTX 3060 at 1080P), but nothing helps. What makes this so bizarre is that at its lowest settings, the game look awful - far, far worse than FM7 on low settings.
If this game could look as good as Forza Horizon 5, I’d be thrilled. That game runs on my system flawlessly at max settings. I booted up FM7 tonight and it felt very refreshing to have that smooth framerate without any issue.
How much testing did T10 actually do on this game? Oh yeah, and where is Open Track-Day Meetup? I can’t believe they removed what is one of the most socially fun aspects of FM7. I won’t even get into the issue of all the rammers that make the experience pure crap.
I come regularly to check, hoping to read of Forza Motorsport brilliance.
The earlier Forza Motorsport games had me soooo excited for this game (and interested in the Horizon series), and like you I invested in a new wheel. I also got new pedals and a monster-overkill GPU, then pre-paid for the premium version on Steam.
Luckily I got a full refund after 10 hours of play.
As mentioned in the first reply by “Evil_Banana205” - the game did everything it could to demotivate me from playing it. Plus, I had flashes of exactly what’s happened (eg, no regular updates, talking-up new content instead of bugs being fixed, etc). And after playing computer games since typing in code from magazines on a Commodore VIC-20 and using a cassette drive to store it - I’d consider being able to save a controller layout a reasonable and fairly basic feature of a AAA game from one of the biggest studios on the planet. But no.
I’ve now purchased and quite enjoy a few other driving games, even the early access games are all far more fit for purpose than what Turn 10 presented us with their new AAA Forza Motorsport.
I really want to buy this game again, but until it’s got most of its bugs squashed … and heavily discounted … I will continue to feed myself popcorn from this forum in-between being thoroughly engrossed in other sims.
Oh and - (edit 2) - I’ve also uninstalled all other Forza title(s) which were installed. The franchise has lost me.
I come here regularly to remind T10/MS that they have my money, but I don’t yet have a product that matches the announcement.
Of course I’ll play!!! GT7 on PS5.
The last time I turned on FM was a few days ago. But the graphics now seem even blurrier to me. Maybe I’m just spoiled by GT7.
I do the weeklies and monthlies but else i don’t touch the game “voluntarily” anymore. The carPG system ruins the gameplay loop for me. The horrible CPU performance (only 3-4 cores utilized of 16) ruins the rest of the game. Single cores get maxed to 100% that makes the game stutter, if it’s not limited to 75 FPS in my case with a R9 5950x. That is just not acceptable in the year 2023 to not support multithreading in any meaningful way. I can play FH5 without any stuttering it runs buttersmooth and this up to 120 FPS in 2160p, DLSS Quality in Ultra Preset. FM2023 runs like a … compared to FH5.
