And the haters gonna hate, hate, hate, hate, hate
Baby, I’m just gonna shake, shake, shake, shake, shake
I shake it off, I shake it off (ooh-ooh-ooh)

And you two guys are lovers ?
He’s taken. I’m also after guys who like Vespa’s though…
You seeing anyone?
I’ve not been this addicted to a racing game since FM4. I’m enjoying the online racing. Some of the most frustrating bugs with loading races seem to have gone. Just had some fantastic, close, clean races in the mx5 spotlight series. You only need to get that to about lvl7 to get a 500PI car. One or 2 races pretty much. I spend hours happily tuning insignificant cars. I’m even making my own logos and liveries again. I’ve fully got the bug. I’m happy with my purchase, but perhaps I didn’t have your expectations given I’ve only raced very casually for the last 5-10 years.
I’m happy for you. If it’s right for you, then don’t let it spoil it for you.
Personally, I also like Goat Simulator. And I wouldn’t say the graphics are NextGen AAA ![]()
But!: That was never promised. This difference makes it.
There’s plenty of threads to make their complaints in. No need to jump all over the positive ones as well.
I’m here to remind someone that they should still refund me. So far I haven’t found the thread that T10 also reads.
And what is your intention? Would you like to tell the world how great you think FM8 is? You can do that. Or are you telling me I should accept that I’ve been cheated on and now keep quiet?
It’s known in psychology that people that are happy don’t often speak out about it. Those are displeased will speak out more and at length.
I basically take all 5 and 1 star reviews with a grain of salt.
I’ve never asked you to keep quiet. Please keep passing on your thoughts, wants, bug reports and annoyances to T10.
Have you requested a refund?
I do think the game is genuinely a mess and I don’t fault anyone for not enjoying it but I do think there’s plenty to enjoy between all the bugs and padding.
I haven’t reviewed it yet but in its current state I’d give it a this-is-a-mess-but-I’m-enjoying-it-anyway 2—3 stars. With fixes for the bugs and less padding around races, 4 stars. The ability to use cars more than once in the Builder’s Cup would get it that 5th star.
Yes. First I asked for refund in the store. This was denied, because preorder was more than 14 days ago. Two attempts through the refund website haven’t been answered. Phone calls to the local MS hotline are handled by a Bot which directs me to a website which in turn is operated by a bot… Refund is not in their dictionary.
That’s a pain. Hope you can get it sorted.
I am having a blast with this game playing on PC with a 1080TI and a i7 8700 and have had very few issues with the game.
I have native 4k resolution set at 70 percent scaling with dynamic render quality set to medium.
Track quality set to high as well as car liveries and lens flare all other settings are set to low with motion blur off. Performance target set to unlocked with v sync set to on in the nvidia panel.
Game does not run well at all but if i use rivatuner and lock the framerate to 60 the game runs at a constant 60fps but only when im racing when it is in the pits or homescreen it stutters a lot.
I play on wheel and the handling is top notch once you get the settings adjusted.
The game to me is like a “KID” very early in its development but when it comes of age it will be the “GOAT”
I like it, but that doesn’t change that the game is still poorly optimized and needs a lot of stability fixes to get the asset loading, graphics and framerates sorted out. As much as I cannot put FM '23 down, I can’t recommend the title to anyone.
I’m also not going to stand on a digital soapbox screaming about how bad it is. If asked I’ll give my opinion.
(You should have seen the book I was about to reply with. Thank goodness for having time to re-read before posting.)
I agree that it’s both hard to put the game down and hard to recommend because of the bugs. I have decided to ignore the people in the forums that are all doom and gloom and off-topic. Not racing tonight though, tonight it’s time to jump back into Halo!!
You’re always welcome to score games how you like, but I do disagree with giving it a 4.5/5. I say this because if it’s a 4.5, and forza 4 was massively better overall, that would make the scale pointless, as forza 4 would end up something like 9/5.
Realistically, even if you think it does have good stuff in it, I think giving it anything above a 3 is a mistake. 4.5 implies it’s virtually perfect (which it is far from). That doesn’t mean people can’t find enjoyment in an imperfect thing of course.
False.
When lots of people are happy with a great product/service, lots of them don’t stay silent about it.
Great products/services are usually flooded with lots of glowing user reviews.
Great products/services usually have very active user communities.
Positive word-of-mouth is how great products/services get so popular.
As I pointed out above:
I’m mildly optimistic that by Nordshleife the game will be well optimised and have a bit more depth and character.
I am 99% sure Turn10 were pushed into release and were forced to dump a bunch of content that needed debugging.
It wll be what we expected in a few months.
edit : I got a refund when the first patch didn’t fix the saving issues. I gave till 2.0 for the game to work or I’d be gone for good. I will repurchase after the next patch if things keep going in the right direction ![]()
I agree with you. I think they were forced to push it out the door. I’ve been closely following this saga for six years and have some insider speculation. They tried to do a complete rewrite from the ground up. It was WAY more demanding than they thought. So, they had to pull back on much of it and refactor a more straightforward version which still used aspects of previous titles.
