Everybody buys the game for different reasons. And FM6 is by no means perfect, and it could be that the one thing you really were looking forward to is missing or is bugged or it’s been redesigned for worse, and then it just gets really frustrating. Especially if that thing worked fine e.g. in FM4.
^ Agreed, also for a car enthusiasts game its amazing how many cars have got inaccuracies and bugs from when they were in Fm4. Things like blurry interiors and speedos/rev counters not working should be fixed before launch.
I wouldn’t consider being critical of a developer ignoring their consumers requests for ways the game could better mean I do not enjoy what I do have. I love how Forza handles and when I am driving the game is fun. What is not fun though is feeling I have to play the game the way the developers want me to play the game instead of the way I WANT to play the game. I don’t want to do online hoppers with 3-6 lap races, I do not want to do online leagues with 3-6 lap races, and I do not want to do a single player career mode with strict objectives and 3-6 lap races.
The fact that I cannot go into free play and set up the race that I WANT to race against the cars I WANT to race against is a bush. It is absolutely ridiculous that I have to rely on finding people online to organize and set up a specific type of race (GT3 stock cars w/race breaks) etc. in order to actually experience that type of race. That in my opinion is not asking too much and I do feel I have a right to be pissed off and displeased that I am being forced to play a game that I paid for the way the developer wants me to play it. What is the point of gaming if the player cannot game the way they want to?
Then again, it is what it is, and that’s the game you bought. In a sense, a game can always only be played in the way the developer wants you to play it, even though the developer may choose to give you a few different options.
You are right it is the game I bought. It will also be the last Forza I will preorder. Until I see Turn 10 actually listens to us and add options that again are not unrealistic or unreasonable to want in the game, I will not be purchasing another Forza.
There is truly nothing in FM6 that warranted a new title. Tracks, night, and weather could have been incorporated as an expansion pack. The fact we LOST content from FM5 to FM6 is beyond comprehension. I’ll agree with what others have said - unless the next iteration is completely earth shattering or functionality is reestablished, I’ll hold off on the pre-order until user feedback (not the pre-release reviews) indicates whether or not the game is worth the money. Basic tenet of capitalism - if you don’t provide what the consumer wants, they won’t buy it.
It’s a lot harder to convince somebody to buy an updated 2-year-old game than a fresh one; I wouldn’t have bought Forza Motorsport 5 no matter what they did with it but ended up getting a console for Forza Motorsport 6 since it was a fresh start.
Well said. Forza isn’t for the competitive type or the type that enjoys a good single player. Forza is for the general gamer that’s attracted by pretty things or the super casuals who only need nice cars to look at. At one time the game delivered on all fronts.
all the other games I like besides this one are on all platforms, I bought the xbox one just for forza 5 now after this latest iteration I wish I would have spent that money on a good gaming pc instead.
