What are your current Skill & Safety Ratings? (2024 Version)

Are we talking about FH or FM here?

FM but remember on the car pass topic. People wasn’t happy to not see road cars.

Personnally I play FM for race cars but the majority only enjoy swapped full aero road cars (They play at FH on FM in my opinion).

And what I said is just to joke

No no no, skill have nothing to do. I only drive non-tuned cars, there’s no skill about just doing outside, inside, outside

I appreciate your modesty.

Anyone else find it crazy that more then half of people are over 4900?

You’re not alone. I was like ā€œYeah it’s cool I’m over 4000 when finish my qualifier racesā€ and well… that’s just the ā€œbeginnerā€ rank I think

Forums tend to skew towards the more dedicated/experienced player by their nature, but even so, the number of people saying they’re at the top end of the scale is higher than expected.

Normally a rating system would be a bell curve, where the middle is the most popular value, but here it’s more like a hockey stick.

Ikr. I really wanna know how skill is calculated. I’ve won a handful of races and pole positions but I’m still in the 4700s. Granted i don’t really drive the best cars and i am a tuning nooblord.

It leads me to believe that your skill rating is based off of how you drive rather than how you qualify/finish. So even if you lose races because of an uncompetitive car, your rank will still go up, but it’s just a guess.

I’d love for one of these 4900+ guys to maybe try 5-10 races in open class lobby with an untuned car with minimum PI. Then have them race as good as they can but inevitably place worse with a 601 PI vs a 700 Pi. My guess is their rating would stay the same.

Starting place mean nothing for the rating. I do a lot of races from the back. If I start 22nd and I finish at the 2nd place, I lose rating.

I can try to do the thing with the untuned car (I’m a non tuned car enjoyer so it’s fine)

The system will be pretty simple.

  • Compare your result vs everyone else.
  • Give points for everyone you beat.
  • Lose points for everyone you don’t beat.
  • Give more/less points per player based on their ranking compared to yours.

The (intentional) mystery is that we don’t know the ratings on other players.

You could have the same result in two different races, but get a different rating change if the people you lost to had a lower rating than those in the previous race.

Or many of those here with lower ratings choose not to indicate it in this poll because of the common gatekeeping & toxicity that ensues towards ā€œnOoBs.ā€

In my experience, the showcase rooms are the most competitive. A set PI and everyone in the same car. That’s typically where I spend most my time but last week I did quite a few of the S-V6s rooms. I got very good results in there. That’s why I’m almost at the ceiling. S-4943.

I’d probably frequent all the rooms if the playlists were more similar. I’m partial to Le Mans, Daytona, Road America but those races only come up in one lobby and at 5 or 6 hour rotation. So I play those 3 races, shut the game off, come back hours later to play those same ones again.

Saw you joining yesterday in a A-V8 Homestead lobby.
It was a really stacked lobby with a guy from GTz and two from FRA.
One of the best races in the last days. 5 of us within half a second lap time-wise.
Unfortunately you didn’t stay.

Probably could have picked up quite a few points in that lobby or lost quite a few lol. Had a go in the C room when I was at 4949, had terrible grip coming out the corners, lost 20 points by dropping 5 spots by the end. Homestead is okay, I’m really anxious for Nord to get added. I haven’t found a car I can trust in the V8s lobbies yet.

Currently S 4996. I wouldnt consider myself an alien driver.

Was just in a lobby with Forza Europa. You can guess how that went :joy:.

8 seconds behind him at the finish. Although he was probably racing one handed with a beer in the other.

The Ford GT40 MkI as race tires, roll cage, aero & ballast build seems pretty strong and easy to drive.
Besides that the fastest cars I’ve encountered this week were unsurprisingly the widebody GT86 TRD and the Nissan Z armada (widebody Z432, widebody 350Z, 370Z N).

Personally I’m having the most fun & success with a no aero Ferrari 512 TR on sport tires and Lexus RCF with the second bodykit. For a bigger challenge I use a no aero Shelby Cobra on sport tires.

His setup for the AMR Pro in X is nuts. That thing is fast everywhere, even Le Mans.

You can be against him even if you have 1400 skill rating

S safety 4993 skill atm, having a blast with my Ford GT 40 mk1 with sport tires in A class v8 lobbies, I shared it if you want to try

Up to S/4995 now as I did a few of the 8 Cylinder races last night. Won or got podiums on all of them.

Good races with @TCA_KATSU in particular, very clean and long battles.
