What are all the things we have lost in the Motorsport franchise?

Well I have been racing Forza since inception (all on a wheel) Thinking about it today there are a lot of things we have lost. Please keep your lost items short and to the point at the start of your post. Try use bold as well

Then feel free to eloborate.

Overall Leaderboards
Point to Point
Auction House
head tracking
free view liveries

I could list a ton more, but I want to see what else the community reminds me of.

FM4 we had the 1v1 races on the ring and Kaido, as well as these had AI players acting as traffic. IMO the most fun races in the series

Most significant for me:

  • a career that lives up to racing games standards - which isn’t that high of a bar to begin with
  • mini-games to lighten up said career
  • power graphs of the engines to judge engine swaps and gearbox setups more accurately
  • drop in/drop out MP with races back to back within consistent lobbies

I miss local leaderboards, last seen in FM2, IIRC. Was a great way to keep track of which of my cars were fastest per class, per track, etc. Rivals, while fun for what it is, just isn’t the same and is not a valid replacement.

Rant over lol.
A real career. Forza 1 had career and arcade modes. Forza 8 career is Forza 1 arcade - I do not understand the content regression.
A career involving a calendar. Seasons. Sponsorship and contracts. Progression.
Starting in 2nd hand rust buckets or karts.
An end goal of racing the supreme level of open wheel, lmp, gt, or saloon car racing.

This opens the door for very personal driver suits also - depending on the sponsors you choose to roll with. Have some provide more coin for performing, some better at car development. Soo simple and engaging.

AI generated personal liveries with new sponsors on …

This could be the amalgamation of multiplayer and ai drivers also.

Proper Open Class racing… What we got now is just a joke. (Soft meta and limited class choice)

Drag racing
Track and car authenticity
Tracks are old and outdated
Cars engine sound like remote control toy cars not real and fake
Install cams in cars and they don’t have lopey or aggressive idle
Engine sound in all views is too quiet
Turbo charger sounds instead of supercharger sounds? Cmon really?
Engine sounds copy and pasted over numerous vehicles, yes it might share the same engine but engine modifications exhaust size and length, manufactures all have there own unique sound
Huge fan base lost over a rushed game full of bugs
New addition of cars inaccurate sounding and buggy
The fun factor! See below why.
Rotating multiplayer classes and all events why?? So race gt2-4 one week and have to wait for it to come back?!? Leave it there permanently… not enough multiplayer options. Heck fm7 has a ton to offer and easy to navigate.
Users and insiders use real live videos of engine sounds when reporting issues helping to show you what it’s suppose to sound like and y’all still mess it up…
How y’all keep asking for feedback but no one’s listening to us seriously. Every post I make about something is anyone even reading it or looking into the issue. We need feedback, let us know your investigating the issue reported.
Keep adding new content but can’t fix what’s wrong already, you’ll never get caught up and everything will always be 50% done right… Pause the new additions and iron things out make it stable and reliable and life like
Then add new cars, make a schedule of how many cars per update, have a team or team leader verify every detail, if unsure ask insiders for feedback with multiple versions to test. Vote and decide which to publish publicly for the new update for everyone.

These plus all of the above…but more than anything, I miss the FM4 Honda roster.

Fun. If the actual game was fun you could overlook alot of it’s shortcomings.

After the move to Xbox one the game took itself too seriously.

I miss:
• storefronts
• auction house (before every car ends up listed at or above value)
• gifting cars
• overall leaderboards
• AutoVista, wherein you don’t just look at your cars but there’s a voiceover talking about different aspects of the cars

A friend and I used to gift each other cars back on 360. We’d never know what the other was going to give us. It wouldn’t usually be stock, either. We’d give the cars reasonably upgrades and tune them.
