How the once great franchise has fallen

I am a life long Forza fan, from the very first game. No point in going over all the issues with this release, just simply to say, the franchise is finished.

The passion put into the game seems surface level. In short, it’s a piece of junk. I never thought I’d be writing these words, I was so excited for the game. How wrong was I…

And I never thought I’d see these ratings…

Going to delete the game, I’m done with it. Goodbye franchise…I now have hopes simply for a Japanese Forza Horizon.

Even surface level passion is generous. It looks like an Xbox One game on max settings, with performance to boot.

I don’t even know what FM is supposed to be. It doesn’t do anything new and the old stuff it’s doing isn’t even refined. I don’t understand what part of this game is supposed to be “the most advanced racing game ever made”.

I’m surprised that quote hasn’t been meme’d to death, but nobody seems to care about this clown show so hardly surprising.

Yup been a wheel racer from FM1. Loved this game, but it’s gotten worse and worse.
FM23 is horrid. I really don’t see a way they can save it and bring people back into the fold.

6 years and it feels like a half baked game. Sure the enviornments and physics are decent. The overall game play is so bad. If I was Turn10 head, I wouldn’t even know where to start.

They have alienated almost every single group of people who played this game.

Oval racers - remove most the best oval cars
Career players - remove all the events
Drifters - everything
Painters - archaic system that need to be improved
car sellers - remove auction house
Multiplayer - lack of events
true racers - removed leaderboards that matter - overall - class leaders - ability to sort
Tuners - grind to build FOR EVERY CAR wth?

I can’t even fathom why you would want to grind your players under your foot…oh yea, built from the ground up! Can’t see how they fix this, just ridiculous.

This could have been an awesome Forza 8 with all the content from previous games we love but noooooo they wanted something new.
Take a long good look at those user reviews because this is not the Forza we wanted .
Lets hope they update this mess fast so we can go back and play again , remove level cxp , give more credits each race and remove the forced car lock on championships , i dont want to be stuck with 1 car 6 races deep .

Isn’t the turn10 head now the Xbox head? If so that’s not looking good for the future of Xbox

FM8 has been out for 5 weeks and for all 5 weeks players across all social media platforms and forums have almost unanimously expressed their hatred towards the car leveling system. So what did Turn10 do? Fix afk leveling to force players into the biggest thing they HATE outside of the stupid game not working! This tells you everything you need to know about their intentions and how they listen, or rather don’t listen to their player base.

We already seen how low Microsoft/Xbox were willing to go with Infinite. They do not seem to care at all about driving beloved franchises into the ground.

All they care about is gamepass memberships. That’s it. When was the last time Xbox came out with a fresh, well received game that made you want to be part of the ecosystem?

This in conjunction with them hoovering up every studio and IP they can looks bleak for the future. They’ll be relying on CoD money via gamepass and forgetting everything else in the not-so distant future.

Xbox has missed the mark since they released the One.

ain’t gonna happen

For me you have to immediately start banning rammers and smashers.
One deliberate hit and its a ten second penalty, another hit then you are removed from the lobby with a 15 minute penalty.
I am so tired of wasting my time practising then qualifying just to be smashed out on the first corner.
really really bored with this.

Was looking at Forza Motorsport Achievements | TrueAchievements

And if these numbers are true, the game is actively turning people off it, be it from technical failures and issues, to just awful gameplay and design choices, as there are several achievements there that should easily be 100% completed by the entire player base by simply playing the game for more than an hour, that are only 75, 50, or even less, completion rate by players

Things like “buy your first car” is only sitting at 66% of players completing, that’s something extremely early game, and people are switching off and abandoning the game either through technical or gameplay issues and complaints

I despise the car levelling and upgrade system and simply wont be buying the game as long as that remains, but clearly I am not the only one when the “level a car to level 25” and then “to level 50” are sitting at 35% and 11% respectively, only 35 percent of players are levelling a single car beyond 25, and 11 percent bothering to go all the way for a single car, everyone else is giving up long before they get there

I found out today thay after the patch the wipers don’t work :upside_down_face: ovr even if they somehow fix bugs and performance issues they’ll have to spend even more time redoing horrid iteriors and car models for the game to look to 2023 standards.

Many said that and I’ll say ut again…unreal engine is not good for racing games. As for nordschleife. Current car car pchysics will make it a chore to drive even with gt3 cars… maybe thats just my problem. Just gt3 cars drive like a nightmare compared to ACC.

Got to be honest as well, this game is a mockery to both gamers and the Forza Motorsports franchise.

That said, I do still enjoy the game slightly for a few seconds here and there, when the lighting/weather/colors/dynamics all are aligned for that one perfect corner. But that short moment lasts maybe a second or three before the game defaults back to pre-geration everything…

When I try to find something positive about the game, I always remember Turn 10 had six(!!!) years to get this game built. From the ground up or not. Six bloody years. What the hell have they been doing all this time?

It will be interesting to see… I don’t have a clue about what it takes to make a game and what can be amended as it evolves… But I do hope they can get it right sooner rather than later, at least they need to get more involved with the critique before all players jump ship…

I for one would give them a little more time of Chris Esaki came out with an apology for lying to everyone and informed us what they are doing to repair this wreck of a game…

then everyone will start hating JDMs, let Japan be untouched by mediocre devs.
