Volkswagen Golf 2019-current (Mk8)

@Rustic3851 Would this be a solution to you if they add the Golf R Wagon so they make purists and people who prefer dsgs happy?

Concerning that around 90% of cars in USA are all Automatics, I knew that American car guys want to go for Manuals to show how they are pros in driving. So they go for the Manual gearbox. :slightly_smiling_face:

I hope so, but we might be able to expect the estate Golf R as a compensation from the devs. It’s time we tell the European Golf R fans that if they want DSG, then we’d go for the Estate version.

That’s the Mk7 facelift, that car was added in April 2022.

I remember when the 992 911 came out and Porsche said it would be PDK only but I guess it backfired and they gave it a manual option for the 2020 model year even on european markets
as for the Golf R like I said I would not mind the Wagon so they listen to purists and dsg fans
Remember this game is played by multiple types of people so of course they also add manual transmission Golfs I dont think think they hate dsg fans I guess its just the question when we get the Golf R Wagon

I dont know what it is but purists are my favourite types of car guys and manual fast cars are going extinct anyways so to see them add something with a manual is something to celebrate for I guess

a.k.a Mk7.5, yes.

They probably went for the 2019 model year because it got so many colour options for that model year

I do wish they add the base model M4 G82 and M3 G80 as not only is it a trim level but it also has a manual thats the only transmission option for the base model to be honest

And one more thing I do not like the fact that DSG Golfs of the 8th Generation do not even have a shifter its just a strange button

They went for the automatic Competition models because they have more power compared to the standard manual ones…

Maybe we get the normal M3 and M4 I mean its not that those are slow cars I think there is potential we get these

A new Golf GTI that can really look this good. This particular model is only available in Europe. It’s the newly facelifted Mk8.5.

Dont care as it doesnt follow the tradition the original GTI had and that is the manual even the MK7 GTI Clubsport had a manual as an option the Clubsport S was manual only

The pre facelifted GTI would be amazing to have in the game though

The Golf 8.5 is still new and there is no R yet so they should add the pre facelift GTI first and then go for the DSG only R and GTI 8.5

We’re never going to get anything above the 2.5T I5

Those pictures are literally the Golf R 20th Anniversary edition, and it’s AWD.

GOLF MK8.5R

With over two decades of all-wheel-drive hot hatch experience to consider, it’s not surprising that Volkswagen is taking a careful approach to updating its flagship performance model for 2025.

A slight increase in power will continue the Golf R’s reign as the most powerful Golf ever made, with the EA888 EVO4 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four-cylinder engine adding 13 horsepower for a total of 328 hp. Peak torque of 310 lb-ft is available as early as 2,100 rpm and spanning up to 5,500, with power sent to all four wheels through a seven-speed DSG dual-clutch transmission and Volkswagen’s proprietary 4Motion AWD system.

Other powertrain updates that Volkswagen made sure to mention include a faster engine start speed, with a special sequence allowing for a brief blip to 2,500 rpm. This creates a sort of cold-start burbling noise, modernizing the sounds that accompany a proper winter startup on older cars. Additionally, VW has also re-tuned the Akrapovic titanium exhaust system to backfire from revolutions as low as 2,500 rpm — and even included a sound actuator to further enhance the four-cylinder growl.

Volkswagen said the 2025 Golf R will do the 0-62 mph sprint in 4.6 seconds and, for U.S. models, will top out at 167 mph. Following in the footsteps of the previous year, the Golf R will benefit from Volkswagen’s Vehicle Dynamics Manager, which allows for on-the-go tuning of the hot hatch’s AWD system, electronic differential lock, and lateral dynamics components. The DCC adaptive dampers remain a critical feature of the Golf R, with active road adjustment and menu-controlled driving modes.
