All the logos you could possibly ever need have been done already and they’re being shared right now. You can download the hundreds you need in less time than it would take to register for that design course and even less time to put on any or all of your cars.
What more do you need?
So, to be clear, what it is you want is work done by someone else that you can then put on a design and share as your own? Smoke and mirrors aside, what you want is someone like Mexico or Mimic or myself or even Turn 10 themselves to spend the time and effort to create a decal you can then put on a design and share as if it was your own work.
I have a career and work full time in addition to moderating, Mimic owns and operates his own business and I’m sure Mexico is equally busy outside the game, just as most of the painters I know. Yet we find the time to create because it’s something we really enjoy and then we share it so that everyone else can enjoy the game a little more.
We paint because we enjoy it, more so than is probably good for us and not for personal benefit or to make ourselves game rich. And we’re certainly not worried about competition somehow ‘devaluing’ our work, in fact we would all love to see more people painting and helping to push our chosen medium forward. I know I can speak for all the other painters on this forum when I say that we will all happily help someone new get started painting by providing advice and guidance to the best of our ability.
When we share work we do so because we want others to be able to enjoy that work and make use of it to make their car a little more personalized, a little more them. You’re absolutely welcome to take my decal X that I have shared and plaster it all over your car or cars and I sincerely appreciate that you liked my work enough to do so. I don’t need your likes or uses, or the credits that come from those uses, as I am more than compensated by virtue of the fact you liked my work enough to download it and want to use it. I’ll wager all the money in my wallet against all the money in your wallet that most painters feel the same way. What we’re not keen on is providing our work so that others can then reshare it as if it were their own.
The work we share is entirely our own, the work you share should be entirely your own as well.
I’m a service engineer, I spend less than 50% of the year actualy in the country, I have a wife and two kids and race a Mk2 Escort in hill climb and autocross events so yeah my time is limited, if I thought making logos in a computer game was a waste of time I’d find something else to do. I do it because I enjoy it.
I am one of the other painters on the forum and you most definitely don’t speak for me mate. My first post where i raised this question, I used this random Pirelli one that was on the “community decals” (no idea why it was there), but that thing locked my design that was my problem, why I posted here, now my design seems to be stuck locked I guess that is why I followed up raising the question… why can’t the community create MNF ones that can be shared? why would everyone have to be held back because a few proud painters want everyone to create their own?

This here is where my opinion and yours differ, You see it as someone using your designs and you losing something, for me it’s just the MNF Decals so you are just taking their design first anyway, you didn’t really create anything… I see it as sharing, i’m not taking credit for anything and if i see something not there i would make it and share it, I created NISMO(not the best it’s on my car below and designed on the angle), TSW(Bang On) a few others, but due to the lack of these decals on Forza 5 it seems like a lot of people are wasting time redoing these decals just so they can share the actual design they want to share with people.
Example - In Forza 3 I made Sunbeam, it took me like 4 hours to get that logo perfect, I want it again, but there is no way i’m going to do that again it was a nightmare, i wouldn’t mind asking someone else for a share so i can do my design, I’ve seen it there, would be nice if i could message the guy who made it and ask for it’s use or something. It’s not going to take anything away from him and I will probably still put in 16+ hours making the rest of the car…
I would be happy to unlock all my car designs and let other people work over them as they wish .others might not. The padlock had a key and it was taken away in fm4 i assume because the sytem was abused in credit scams.There are no direct credit transactions in fm5 so maybe we could unlock again.
Although putting decals on a car, helps make the overall design/ appearance look great it isn’t the same as custom designing an entire car. If you look at the vinyl as a decal, it’s no different than applying pre- made decals to your own car. Wether they come for free with the KnN air filter or you buy them for a few bucks, there really isn’t anything “original” about the decal, after all, they printed tens of thousands of them. So if a player makes a good one and CHOOSES to share it, so be it. ( if he actually could ). I don’t think it devalues another’s choice to make his own. I tend to think its a game, not a competition. It shouldn’t have to be " if you don’t have the time or skill, then you can’t."
In ref to : all the logos and decals are done for the community to use. True if YOU are the only one who will ever see it. I am an absolute novice in the design shop. But in F4, it was cool to know someone downloaded my design ( the colors I chose, the stripes or fading I used, the logo theme and placement of decals that came out looking just right.) with the current system, we can use any/all the decals that are pre done but we can’t share the design at all; so nobody will ever see it with the exception of some multiplayer if you so chose. Just because I have shared my work doesn’t mean I want to profit from it. I just want it to be seen.
Why any of the talented and experienced design shop guys would be against the community having access to very common, generic decals ( that are not their design nor made by them but made by another person who chose to share it ) is beyond me.
Love the game though!! And love using the designs those talented guys make. Make no mistake, I appreciate and enjoy your work.

We’re not opposed to anyone having access to the decals we create and share, in fact quite the opposite, we want everyone to not only have access but to use what we’ve created and shared. What we’re opposed to is having our work then shared by those who didn’t spend the time and effort to create it.
I will happily be the worst painter in the game so long as the playing field is level and I’m the worst amongst those who actually created work instead of simply downloading and resubmitting the work of others without so much as crediting the original creator.
Why on earth are some of you so intent on sharing work that isn’t all your own?
Are you really ethically okay with doing that?

There are a lot of people that don’t have the time/talent to run top 100 times.
There are a lot of people that don’t have the time/talent to tune cars.
There are a lot of people that don’t have the time/talent to do a base design.
There are a lot of people that don’t have the time/talent to do logo’s accurately. (if you can’t do Pirelli well…I think I know why you want logos unlocked)
Lets start by not giving everyone everything and end with locking this thread
