Why cant you share designs with vinyls from cloud?

Why cant i share my designs if i got vinyls from the cloud?
Im verry bad in making sponsor vinyls but i can style race cars and i think there is many players like me…
Is it not better to let people share designs with vinyls from cloud? I think that it should appear more awesome designs on the cloud if forza let the players to do that…

That is like saying why can’t I sell stolen property. Those logos I make, I spend hours on. I speak on behalf of the whole community. If that was taken away nobody would knows what belongs to who and designers wouldn’t share any logos. Be lucky you can make designs at all with our logos. If you want to put logos up yourself then get good. That was how it happened to me. I got tired of running others paints and knowing they weren’t mine.

Cheers, Ace

You can always share the photos, plus credit some of the artists who’s logos you use.

You are maybe right… Should be nice to get good in creating logos so i can share my designs.
I always put my own racing logo on all my cars so everybodey can see that im the owner of the design but i know thats not possible on a logo

The up side is once you have made your own logos you don’t have to make them again and all you have to do is load them on the car and change the colour. Pays off in the long run.
Plus it’s always a good feeling when you complete a design knowing that you made every logo and vinyl on the car

Also to add…if you have a logo that you have downloaded which is a colour you don’t want then simply place on car then press “X” and you can change the colour. Naturally only works on flat logos and not multicolour.

Its basically a stop-gap method to keep others for using their the liveries that you upload. Once they’ve done that to make small changes and take credit for creating them and then change them to more specifically to discourage people from doing this. Selling your liveries at the auction opens a method for getting paid because you’ve mad a massively popular livery. As soon as these people see a car design that they like, the’ll apply it to one of their own garage. BUT. now YOUR livery is in their hands so all they have to make minor tweaks and minute color changes and then turn around and sell it for real money or huge in-game credits After about 5 illicit downloads, it spreads quickly and a some point, someone puts their own name as the creator and the original creator may never know who did it. And once a large volume seller loads the game and never races. They just sit back and get the in-game credits

Not to revive a dead thread but ^ That is why all of the smart designers watermark their logos. Leoram did it in FM4 and his Pantera was always being unlocked. I had to laugh at the idiots who would put that design on their storefronts and not even remove the watermark!

Would it be worth creating a system in which painters are able to receive credit and payment for the vinyls they create?

Like many casual painters, i have used vinyls that other users have created on liveries, which is fine for my own personal use, but a little annoying that I can’t share the livery with a buddy, especially since the vinyls i used are freely available to anyone anyway.

I get that you guys pour hours into these things, and its only fair you should receive something when they are used by someone…

So, what if for example I create a livery that features ten vinyls other users have created.
Would it work if I paid 10,000 credits per vinyl directly to the creator in exchange for me being able to share the whole livery?
Then each time someone wishes to download the livery, a buyer would be prompted to pay 100,000 credits for it (10 times 10,000) with the 10,000 credits again going to the creators of each individual vinyl’s creator, plus showing gamer-tags for work credits…

Therefore if i use one of your vinyls, and 10 people choose to download it, you will have 110,000 credits plus people know it is your work featured.

I know people will baulk at spending, but given these ease to build credits via rivals and racing etc, i don’t think its too much… Maybe even too cheap given the work that goes into the vinyls.

What do you guys think? Fair for all, or am I talking crap?

If designs are using locked vinyls and they cannot be shared then that is the way I would like it to stay. Credits mean nothing when the time is put in to create them. What is to say I sit down for a week and put 30 hours into a paint just for someone else to do the same base design, throw the logos on that people have created and call it their own?

I like the system just the way it is and if I see a livery then I know THAT person has put every line, logo and detail together themselves. Where is the effort in making a design and throwing other peoples work and calling it your own design??

Saying “I am not very good at making logos” is a little dismissive and frankly…lazy. Anyone can put the simplest logos together and come up with some awesome designs with very little effort. It just takes a little time and practice. If people are not willing to do that then why should painters who have put the time in do the work for them?

Exactly, for most of us it’s a pride thing. People don’t really care so much about the money. Also, your system is better and at least more agreeable than most people who just want things to go back to FM2 standards. I wouldn’t mind seeing this system implemented just because I already have a policy of not sharing “Design Specific” decals, so I would continue to adopt this policy so that nobody could exactly replicate my designs with my logos, plus the incentive to paint for the lazies would be significantly decreased because I for one would not buy a paint for 10,000 per logo. The real designers wouldn’t need te up charge for the logos. That being said I am perfectly content with the way that things are now.

Dan, I couldn’t agree with you more about people being “too lazy.” You should see my first logos, atrocious! But you improve by practicing.

I like TangoFiver idea but i understand the creators that put hours on their logos. Ive started to try creating awesome logos and i am beginig to be better and i have discovered a way to create better logos that i hope is okey… Download a logo from the cloud and apply it in “create vinyl” and use it like a frame for your own logo. Some people may think that tis is easy but when i tried it did it take an hour to create just one letter of a simple logo.
sometimes when i try to create logos does not understand how you can create that awesome logos and i would be werry glad if you could give me some tip.

I have done and do still do this sometimes but from doing this method I often find the logo made by someone else is actually wrong, Proportion, shapes, etc.
I then find the real logo online put it on my tablet and match up where mistakes are etc and make my own more refined version.
Its a good way to train your brain to work out what shapes you can use to get the logo correct. Just the other day I had to make a C-West logo for my WIP design. I found one that looked correct, downloaded it and zoom in…

It was out of shape and had many mistakes. Mistakes that are noticeable when you have them side by side. That’s why I always make them with the actual logo nearby. It’s a good way to improve your Manufacturer logo making.
