I am aware of the fact that these models either share the exact same engine with minor tweaks or very similar V12 configurations. IRL, however, Lamborghini gave each car a distinct exhaust note and aural personality.
In all previous Forza games, even cars with similar engines had a distinct sound, then why is it that many cars in the game share the exact same sound? Why would I bother collecting them if they have the SAME sound and just slightly different handling characteristics and looks?
And it doesn’t end here - AMG GTS, SLS AMG, Alfa Romeo 8C (same sound), Supra, R34, M4, S4 (same sound).
This is starting to look a bit like the Mass Effect debacle where they outsourced facial animations and now have to deal with the leftover mess.
In a franchise that thrived on quality, why does it seem to bypass just that in favor of more cars and content? Am I wrong here? Is the developer trying to do too many things at once and not pay attention to quality and general bug testing?
People all around the globe shell out hundreds to thousands of dollars on Forza and post-release DLC. The least we can expect is more attention to quality and accuracy. After all, it is a car game for car lovers, made by car lovers, isn’t it?
The very likely and highly plausible scenario is that that nothing will be done. They’ve already made a mass profit from Horizon 3 (and essentially every previous Forza title) because they do the same thing as Microsoft has done with virtually every product: get mass hype spread across the world, have some players pre-order the game, some buy it the day it comes out, and some buy it even well after threads like these are posted.
It doesn’t matter how it happened, the only thing that matters is the profit ratios. So long as enough money is made to pay off Turn10 and PG devs as well as cover the production costs, everything is fine and dandy from there on out. And my reasoning behind the mass hype thing: compare the features that were pushed forward the most when Kinect was first announced with the things that were pushed most when Horizon 3 was announced. Now compare the features of those two and compare them with the Xbox One S. Heh… yeah.
Kinect: “It will change your life.”
Xbox One S: 4k video streaming, not 4k gaming as was falsely and, mind you, purposely portrayed.
Forza Horizon 3: An achievement named “Best. Horizon. Ever.”
