Update theme: Classic Touring Cars

I would like to see an update themed around (you guessed it) classic touring cars. To be more specific Group2-racing and GroupA-racing. These regulations were used globally and seen in series such as DTM, ETCC, BTCC, JTCC and ATCC.
The cars are always a blast to watch racing and they just look and sound so good!
I would love to experience these cars in FM and an update themed around these cars, instanly adding 5+ of them in an update (and more in the future ofcourse) seems right to me!

Although Group A is an evolution (and replacement) of Group 2 and in period they didn’t race together, nowadays they are raced together at classic events. With a bit of BoP magic, they should be able to do the same in FM. This opens the possibility to fill a class with cars from both rulesets.

Weekly themes

For the weekly themes there are some possibilities:

  • Group 2 specific
    – A limited selection of just Gr.2 cars
  • Group A specific
    – A limited selection of just Gr.A cars
  • Old vs new
    – Gr.2 vs Gr.A vs Forza TC
  • Pre 66 touring cars
    – Not the focus of this update, but still related and doable with cars in the game (see this suggestion for ideas)
  • Forza TC
    – To show how these cars have progressed
  • Road spec
    – Racing the road going versions of the cars, with a limited selection of the cars that are also available as race spec
  • Road vs race
    – Showcasing the differences between the road going versions and the full on race cars
  • Vintage Trans-Am
    – Does somewhat resemble classic touring cars?

Each of these themes is usable in Career (which be should permanent) and Featured Multiplayer.

Be sure to vote on the cars with the Group2-racing and GroupA-racing tags!

If a circuit were to be added with this update theme, an oldschool circuit like Zandvoort would go great with these cars!

I don’t know if this is a bit of a stretch for this update, but maybe one week being themed around Vintage Trans-Am cars could work too?

Currently the Vintage Trans-Am division only has one car, which is only available as a reward car: 1970 Ford #15 Mustang Boss 302 Trans Am
Unlike the modern Trans-Am cars or the ones that are currently placed under GTX sportscars, the Mustang does resemble a touring car a bit (but not fully).
So maybe it could work as one of the weekly themes? It could be a good way to introduce more cars to this division!
