Running a little Group A/Super Touring series. Locations loosely based on the 1996 ITC season, but including a US stop. Open to suggestions.
I am undecided on whether to pick Miami or Daytona. Both feel like they would be appropriate for the era. I am open to suggestion/discussion on these.

Personally I would stick with Miami, because Daytona has the dangerous pit exit, and needs a long section of acceleration which means the fastest cars will be the ones with highspeed and power and therefore the race could be quite a mess, with a lot of crashes in slow corners.
Considering the news that came out yesterday about the 5.0 Update, it might be a good idea to wait until the update has launched.
The Update will include the first changes to the penalty system and might also introduce a option to manually flag people.
The Update launches on 14th Feb. so the racing event could start on Sun 18th Feb.
I would have a suggestion for Homologation,
It might be more immersive for the time period to only allow the sport transmission for max transmission upgrade, because the slower shift times make the cars feel more retro.
Also to ensure that all of the cars have similar acceleration and braking, it might be better to set a certain window for min/max weight of 1200kg to 1400kg and only allow sport brakes. Otherwise some cars would be much faster on straights and others in corners, which can cause some really risky situation and lead to crashes.
Iāve thought about this but Iām not sure how well I can enforce it and I also donāt want to be too restrictive. Iāve wondered if maybe just adding ballast to the winners would be better. Next race you must weigh in 5-10 PI less than last race. Iām not sure.
Iād prefer to actually have everyone use race handling mods and then build up to PI with power. But I feel the only way to really do that is with a cage and race tires. Those I can at least see from the pre race menu.
The heavier cars also canāt get down to that weight but Iāve wondered if I should limit HP to focus on handling more. But with the wide range of cars available for this class I canāt test them all.
Iāve been thinking of the suggestion to delay for the new update as well. Not sure what I want to do yet. Nordschleife might make a good test day.
Setting up the lobby 15 minutes before the hour, will send invites to all interested. Will give time for everyone to get in the lobby. Start qualifying race 10-minutes after the hour, and then into the feature race.
The first round of International Super Touring was contested only by myself and CronyLier.
Cloudy skies backdropped 20 laps around the Nurburgring GP-Strecke.
CronyLier, in a works-effort Nissan Skyline R31, took pole position and kept it throughout the event. I attempted an early pit-stop to no benefit as after the first round of stops CronyLier held his lead. No ground made after stop 2.
CronyLier takes Round 1.
Next Sunday IST will be in Miami for 29 laps around the Homestead Road Circuit.
No problem. Takes time to get some traction and given the way the game is right now Iām not surprised people are hesitant to get involved.
Had a few other people interested but they happened to not be online yesterday. Oh well.
I will stick it out for this āseasonā and see where it goes. The game has potential so Iām hoping it gains some sense of direction over the next few updates.
I have some ideas to do more region specific seasons in the future, a full month in Europe, one in USA, one in Asia/Africa.
My vision for it is to imagine if International Touring Cars was actually successful. Perhaps my fate will be the same.
As a thought for the future (wouldnāt be able to make the rest of the season myself anyway), have you considered moving it to Saturdays US time? 8PM UTC on a Sunday pretty much wipes out half of SE Asia as that is ~dawn on a Monday morning in Japan and Australia, obviously you canāt pick a time which is perfect for everyone but by shifting the day at least you can make it so that everyone is playing on a weekend (for those night-owls and midnight-oil burners)
Opened in 1995, Homested-Miami Speedway is our next stop for International Super Touring. The brand new facility was buzzing with events throughout 1996 and would have made a perfect venue for International Touring Cars.
Beaches, palm trees, and 29 laps around the Road Course this Sunday.
1st place was taken by CPSDIABLO in a Toyota Supra
2nd was held by CronyLier in his R31 Nissan Skyline
3rd place was a close fight, my Mercedes 190E traded places the whole race with
Anton10102ās E30 M3 in 4th, a mere 0.3 seconds behind at the checkered flag
5th place was another BMW, an E36 M3 from Buckeyes420
6th place was an entry from Chevrolet, an IROC Camaro driven by MissileTek351.
