I play and enjoy both games as well. Yes trucks and SUV’s make more sense in FH2 than in FM6 but they are still pretty fun in FM6 and bring an extra layer of variety. I completed 1 part of the truck/SUV series in the second volume of the career mode and it was quite fun. Some are really hard to drive (the Cadillac Escalade spins out so easy) but some are quite fun as well (Ford F-150 2017, Ford F-150 Raptor Shelby and Ram Runner being my favorite rides from the pack).
I enjoy racing my '56 F-100 and beating racers in their sports cars. I have my truck with 5.6 speed and 5.4 handling in B Class with no aero. The trucks can be competitive when driven properly.
I agree 100%. Leave the trucks for Forza Horizon series. Forza 6 should be about performance cars. Only exception is cars like BMW M5 and Cherokee SRT-8 which are track capable. Trucks like the F150 Raptor are not designed for racing on a road course and have no place in the game.
I don’t like the SUVs either. I especially wish the 75 Bronco hadn’t make it to the game. It looks incredibly ugly, has no use and somehow looks unreal compared to other cars in the game. The Bronco’s paint looks cartoony and there are multiple reasons the car doesn’t fit to the game… The latest BMW M4 competitors, the new Mercedes C63 AMG and the Cadillac ATS V would be nice cars to have in a racing simulation instead of heavy trucks.
I have no quarrel with having these vehicles in Forza Motorsport, but I do feel that they have a lot more potential than the game has given them right now.
I love the diversity. The more the better! I even enjoyed the little city cars like the Yaris, Aygo, 107 and Spark in Forza 4!
One of my favourite cars early on in career in Forza 3 was the Fiesta Zetec S!
Lol at people moaning about vehicles being in the game, don’t use them if you don’t like them. I hate pretty much every American car but I just chose not to use them unless I have to. Guess it makes a change from people moaning about cars that aren’t in the game.
Trucks/suvs are actually pretty good in this game. They all seem to have a good bit more grip than what you’d expect. The jeep Willys for one drives like a Mini cooper from FM5.
I’m guessing they were programmed to have extra grip. Idk.
I’m thinking they should have added a garbage truck too…you often see one of those out on a race track.
Ding ding ding! We have a winner.
Trucks/SUV’s are not my thing, but I think they just want something for everybody. with 460+ cars a little variety of size I think is a good thing. Plus who doesn’t like getting in smashed into in a multiplayer race by an SUV…HAHAHHA
I used to hate the trucks and wanted them out of the series. Then one day I was bored in Forza 4 and decided to take a Raptor for a spin. That changed my perspective. Driving a truck fast around a road course is a different challenge, and fun in its own right. I still prefer cars, but I keep a few trucks in the garage and enjoy racing them from time to time. My best builds can hang pretty well with the cars in the handling department, but I need to brake sooner.
There is a mismatch between cars and trucks when both are on the grid. I wish there were more truck-only events in Forza 6. I think some offroad tracks for the 4WD trucks would be a great addition to the game.
When you go to the drag strip or road courses and see a Silverado SS, SRT jeep ripping it up…they aren’t no joke. Seen an all stock Silverado ss run a 13.4 thru the 1/4 not to bad… I understand the performance division of trucks being in there, but the ford van…? no not really but I don’t use it.
The Truck/SUV square is in the second volume of career mode.
I had a Raptor in the top 1% of the leaderboard on a few tracks in FM5. I love building the random stuff and working to make it fast. The new Raptor with it’s 10 speed is pretty fun when running manual with clutch too. I’ve got a fun tune to use all 10 gears in some form. It is still kind of being tweaked to get all the spacings right but it is fun to play with.
Heavies can be a lot of fun. But why not think it to the Logical consequences? Add Race Trucks! This would be, may be also a special interest group, but geat extension for the forza series!
It’s in there because they already have it rendered for Horizon 2. So why not include in the new game and sell to others that the NEW FM6 have that many cars. Oh wait and you can expect more from this in the upcomings DLC’s. Nothing new to the franchise, just cars that they already have it rendered from other games they made.
because why spend a lot of money modeling race cars into a game about ‘motorsport’ when theres a van out in the back parking lot that you can use instead
Because motorsports includes more than just purpose built race cars… by the way vans have been raced for ages. COUGH Ford Transit Van SUPERSPORT COUGH
The variety of trucks and SUV without DLC is the best Forza has ever offered. I love it.
They have 4 wheels and compete just like anything else. The argument is as ridiculous since there are always faster racing vessels than the one your’e driving.
‘The Trucks are for ramming only’ is such an old tired argument.
I am going for that VW van next!
There are many reasons why they keep coming back each installment and its not just for racing purposes
all types of cars in FM6 be it your muscle cars, saloons JDMs etc have their fans so T10 try to get as many of the most popular in there as possible to attract more people to buy the game for profit - Trucks and SUVs are no different especially since the introduction and popularity of the horizon series, even if offroading isn’t available its still nice to able to at least drive them plus its not that difficult for T10 to get the cars into the new game as most of them have already been previously laser scanned for FM5 or FH2
Some SUVS and trucks can hold their own, the land rover defender, Ford F100, Rallyfighter (for speed) while smaller cars will beat them more often than not, they are a nice challenge to drive even stock due to the heavier weight and its is very satisfying when you beat someone with one
beyond racing many of them are great for photos and painting like any other car especially the Transit
with a bunch of friends SUV racing can be a lot of fun and very close just look at failraces recent gurka racing video
Finally they are also fun to use for when I want to try something different and its this that keeps me playing these games the options are endless
Despite this I still agree that offroading/rallying need to be a thing at some point to do these (and other 4wds) justice
