I totally have a blast on Horizon 2 going offroad in the Grand Cherokee SRT,but in Forza 6 trucks and suv’s just seem pointless to me.I pray and wish for some kind of dirt/rally tracks in some future dlc’s for FM6.And yes I like both games.
It’s not what you drive, it’s how you drive. Any form of contact racing has the potential to be abused no matter what the vehicle. Plus SUV’s can be driven cleanly by those of us that abide to racing rules.
Yep, there are SUV/truck events in career. They’re actually quite good. I think there’s three different series that require them each with about six races in each.
I think its becasue the game has been developed with little attention to details… so much was copied from the past FM5 game… and then forgotten it was copied. I never liked Drag Racing anyway… but ttrucks and a Raptor at that on a road course is weak!
Plus it also makes for hilarious one make race series online.A group I race with, did a series in Forza 4 we called Vandurance, with the Vandura at various tracks. Not fast, but a lot of fun.
Once again, if I want to do silly stuff like this, then I’d play MarioKart. The Vandura, H1, WK1 Jeep, Wagoneer, XTS Limo, Aztek, etc has no place in a “Motorsport” game.
Well, actually they do. Please take the time to investigate what qualifies as Motorsport. You may be surprised to find out that even tractor pulling is considered Motorsport, not to mention truck racing, lawnmower racing, snowmobile racing, etc. Motorsport encompasses much more than racing hot cars around a track. I am not saying that you need to enjoy these other types of activities, but many of us do.
Ok…I’ll bite. Seeing how all of the venues available in FM6 are ROADCOURSES, there is no place for the vehicles that I listed. When was the last time that you seen on TV a Hummer H1 race @ any racetrack, id bet that you never heard of one. I understand that there are other forms of motorsport but in the context of what we’re presented these vehicles have no purpose.
I’ll give you a dollar if you could find a pic of this seriously on a racetrack turning laps. Your references to road rallye, etc to prove that limos have a place in motorsport have no merit with me. people race barstools too, should that be in the game as well?
Some of the vehicles I fail to see the point, but don’t have major problems with them as long as it remains only a small percentage of the models that development time is spent on. Also, if they DO include these vehicles at least online I would prefer if they were confined to a particular ‘heavy’ class.
Offline I really don’t care, do what you want and mess about with wacky vehicles mixed up, it’s only a mode meant for your personal enjoyment and fun after all
In FM5 I whipped up a series of races as a sort of championship for Roller1986 and I. We never did finish it, but I tried to keep it interesting with an assortment of tracks and types of vehicles. One race was a Raptor race at Bathurst. I wanted it to just be trucks in general but as I recall I couldn’t find an option limiting it to just the few vehicles I wanted involved so had to settle for a one-make Raptor race. It’s an interesting change of pace because of the unique characteristics of larger, higher vehicles, especially on twisty hills like at Bathurst. Trucks don’t have to be for trolling.
Because people like me, enjoying racing more than just race cars around a track. “Forza, where dreams are driven” I enjoy taking SUVs and trucks around a track just like anything else. I love the growth and variety of available vehicles. Provides more of a challenge too since they handle so much differently than cars. Just my two cents. (And for the record, I hardly ever go online, I stick to career mostly, so I am not one of those people who do it to wreck, nor does everyone who uses an SUV or truck do so either)
You have to give the racing leagues a shot they are pretty fun. Especially the ones with Ghosting setting so you don’t end up crashing into one another.
It would be a lot better if the truck and suv choices were as diverse as the other cars in the game. They can make for great fun, clean, racing. As was said, it’s not what you drive but how you drive it.
Just think, there are some SUVs that would track well and set better times than some sedans or coupes. I’m thinking Porsche Macan or Porsche Cayman perhaps - we might get that in 2016.
The Jeep SRT8 also hits the track fairly well.
You want a “lower level” SUV that can do well on the track, the Nissan Juke can hold its own.
